Jackson had the third 1,000-yard season of his career, giving him three the last four seasons. He was the top big-play threat in the Chargers' offense once again, averaging an impressive 18.4 yards per reception. Jackson had four 100-yard games. He was a little erratic because of his big-play ways, though, having eight games with 50-plus yards and eight with fewer than 50 yards. He can be a little boom or bust. Jackson heads to Tampa this season to serve as their go-to receiver in the offense. He probably isn't as great of a fit for this offense but will get plenty of chances from Josh Freeman. Jackson is a big receiver with good leaping ability and plus speed. He isn't a polished route runner but has improved in this area through the years.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Jackson probably will be overvalued some this season. His numbers should regress in a move to a less explosive team. He can still get around 1,000 yards and eight or so scores but don't expect a monster season with his new team. Consider him a top No. 2 more than anything.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reworked the contracts for WR Vincent Jackson and OG Carl Nicks in a way that turned the majority of their 2013 salaries into guaranteed bonuses. The Buccaneers pro-rated the bulk of Jackson's $13 million salary and Nicks' $12.5 million salary over the final four years of each player's contract, creating extra cap space for 2013.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson and OG Carl Nicks restructured their contracts to free up about $18 million in 2013 salary cap space. Jackson got a $12.16 million roster bonus to push his cap figure for this year to $15.43 million. But his new base salary for 2013 will be $840,000 and his cap figure will drop to $3.472 million. Jackson had been scheduled to count $13 million toward the 2013 cap. The roster bonus will be pro-rated over the remainder of Jackson's contract. Nicks had an $11.785 million roster bonus and a cap figure of $15.436 million for this year. But Nicks' base salary for 2013 had been scheduled for $12.5 million, and it now drops to just $715,000. Nicks' cap figure for 2013 had been scheduled for $12.5 million, but it now drops to $3.072 million.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson was the only receiver on his team to do anything in Week 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles, finishing with six receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown. Fellow WR Mike Williams had three grabs for 18 yards and a score. Other than Jackson, the rest of the offense accounted for just eight catches, 58 yards and the Williams score.
