The presence of Kansas City Chiefs FS Abram Elam has allowed the team to expand the role of SS Eric Berry. For instance, in the preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals, Elam's presence allowed Berry to slide into a linebacker position. When Berry lines up at LB, he is allowed to blitz, play the run or drop into coverage. Elam can also play both safety positions.
