Dixon was on the Ravens practice squad last season. He didn't get in a game but at least was on an NFL roster. Dixon hasn't exactly progressed as expected after showing some positive things for the Steelers a few seasons back. Dixon has some NFL experience but attempted just 59 passes in five seasons. He has some ability and upside, but at age 28 is running out of time to make a big impact in the NFL. This could be his last chance, signing with the Eagles this offseason. He will get a chance to compete for the starting job, reuniting with his old coach, Chip Kelly. He knows the offense, which helps his chances for the coming season. Dixon is a top athlete. He has a plus arm and can make plays on the run. His accuracy is improving, but he still needs work reading defenses and throwing to the right receiver.
Dixon might be worth a late-round flier but we don't see him winning the starting job, despite knowing the offense and coach. The other guys he is competing with are more talented players. But if he happens to get some starts, Dixon has obvious upside in what should be a high-flying offense.
