Summary

Running Back Rank: #51All Players: #163
Rodgers made an impact his rookie season. He ran for 205 yards and caught 21 passes. He emerged as the third-down back for the Falcons, a role he should continue to serve going forward. He fits this role well. Rodgers is a small back with good moves and solid speed. Rodgers does well as a receiver and hits the hole in a hurry when given a chance to run the ball. Rodgers is really small, though, which is why he is suited to be a third-down back. He won't be a starter in this league but should do fine in spot duty.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Rodgers is worth a look in PPR leagues. He can improve on his reception totals from last season and get around 35 in a good Falcons' offense. A season with 500 or 600 total yards and a few touchdowns is realistic for Rodgers.

Notes

Atlanta Falcons RB Jacquizz Rodgers, who has 23 carries over his last three games, will be ready to assume a lead role at running back if RB Michael Turner (elbow) can't play in Week 14. 'Absolutely,' head coach Mike Smith said. 'Jacquizz is one of many guys we feel like deserves to get touches on our offense. If need be, we think he can take carries that other guys may get in other games.'
Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter said Tuesday, Nov. 13, that RB Jacquizz Rodgers has not necessarily earned more carries, but the situation will continue to be reviewed. 'Jacquizz did a good job when he was in there,' Koetter said. 'He touched the ball, but some of that could be luck of the draw. We'll see how it plays out. Touches on this team are always going to be an issue because we have so many good skill guys. One guys increase in touches is going to come at the expense of another guy. Who is that? That's the million dollar question.'
Fantasy Impact: He should get more work with Turner struggling. It only makes sense.

Atlanta Falcons RB Jacquizz Rodgers carried six times for 18 yards in Week 4 against the Carolina Panthers, and added four receptions for 40 yards. After seeing just 12 total touches through his first two games, Rodgers has managed a total of 25 touches over the past two weeks.
Fantasy Impact: Rodgers is getting a lot more work in the offense and gaining steam as a fantasy option.

Atlanta Falcons RB Jacquizz Rodgers carried 10 times for 32 yards in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons, and he added five catches for 35 yards and his first career score.
Fantasy Impact: Rodgers is getting more chances but still isn't worth using for fantasy teams just yet.

Atlanta Falcons RB Jacquizz Rodgers carried three times for just three yards in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos, and he did not haul in any receptions.
Fantasy Impact: We still think he could get some more chances going forward with Michael Turner struggling. Don't give up on Rodgers just yet.

Atlanta Falcons RB Jacquizz Rodgers carries seven times for 22 yards in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs, and he added two receptions for 13 yards. He had nine touches to 11 for starting RB Michael Turner.
Fantasy Impact: Rodgers could be getting more and more work going forward.
Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter will work in RB Jacquizz Rodgers as a shifty complement to starting RB Michael Turner more this year than the team did a year ago. Rodgers was only thrown one screen pass all of last season. He had 57 attempts for 205 yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy Impact: Rodgers is expected to play a much bigger role this season and could be worth a reserve grab for fantasy teams, especially in PPR leagues.
Altanta Falcons RB Jacquizz Rodgers may have a role in the offense similar to the one that New Orleans Saints RB Darren Sproles has with the Saints. Rodgers is expected to have a role in the running game as well as the passing game.

Atlanta Falcons RB Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling are expected to have a heated battle during training camp and the preseason for the primary backup job to starter RB Michael Turner.
Atlanta Falcons RB Jason Snelling (hamstring), who caught a 21-yard touchdown pass in the team's Week 10 loss to the New Orleans Saints, suffered a hamstring injury in the contest. 'It was bothering me a little bit, but I was able to come back and play,' Snelling said. 'I just need to be careful with moving forward, but I will be OK.' Snelling has nine totes in the last two games, including one in Week 10. RB Jacquizz Rodgers has 17 carries over the same time.
