Ausberry had two receptions in 14 games during his rookie season for the Raiders. He was moved to tight end and could have a bigger role from day one this season. The Raiders don't have a set No. 1 tight end so Ausberry could play his way into a bigger role. He has the size for the position but needs to work on his blocking if he hopes to be a consistent producer at tight end.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Ausberry is intriguing because he has some talent and pass-catching skills. He could play a big role in the passing game this season as more and more teams start using the tight end. He might be worth a late-round flier as a No. 2 or 3 tight end. He has upside if he starts getting the playing time.

Oakland Raiders TE David Ausberry is currently the leading candidate to assume the team's starting tight end role. Ausberry showed up this year packing on more weight; he bulked up to 265 pounds after playing at roughly 250 pounds last season.
Fantasy Impact: Ausberry has some upside in this role, being a former receiver, but don't expect big numbers in an offense that doesn't use the tight end much.

Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said he expected TE David Ausberry to be deployed as a receiving tight end this season. Ausberry, a converted wide receiver last season, is noticeably bigger in the upper body as he grows into his position.
Fantasy Impact: He is really getting talked up but we wouldn't get too hyped as the Raiders haven't used the tight end a ton of late.
