Notes
Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers RBs Mossis Madu and Michael Smith are battling for the No. 3 running back job. Madu carried 11 times for 23 yards Wednesday, Aug. 29, against the Washington Redskins, while Smith had four carries for four yards and an 11-yard reception.
Fantasy Impact: At this point, the race is really close to call.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RBs Mossis Madu and Michael Smith are battling for the No. 3 running back job. It is possible only one will survive the final roster cuts.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Mossis Madu is in a battle for a roster spot, and with the Bucs drafting RBs Doug Martin and Michael Smith, it will not be an easy battle. Madu is working hard on special teams, hoping that gets him noticed.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers plan to involve RB Mossis Madu more down the stretch, according to offensive coordinator Greg Olson. 'I don't know if I'd call it a package of plays, but we are getting him more involved,' Olson said. 'We're going to continue to add to what we do with him.' Madu ran eight times for 25 yards in his season debut in Week 13. The Bucs think Madu can develop into a solid third-down back.
Fantasy Impact: We still don't expect him to get enough work to help fantasy teams.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Mossis Madu will have a very limited role at tailback and will also be used on special teams when the team resumes play in Week 9. RB LeGarrette Blount (knee) is expected to return as the lead back, and RB Kregg Lumpkin will become the third-down option.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Mossis Madu is expected to be promoted from the practice squad after the season-ending injury to RB Earnest Graham (Achilles'). Madu (6-foot, 197 pounds) presents a smaller option than RBs LeGarrette Blount and Kregg Lumpkin. RB Chad Spann is another possibility to be promoted.
