Summary

Quarterback Rank: #61All Players: #415
Osweiler attempted 10 passes as the top backup for the Broncos last season. He is waiting in the wings to take over as the starting quarterback for the team once Peyton Manning retires. Osweiler is a huge quarterback with a big-time arm. He can make all the throws for an NFL quarterback. He does lack a little accuracy, though, and could improve his decision making, which should come with more seasoning and practice.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Unless Manning goes down, don't bother with Osweiler. But he is someone to consider in deep dynasty leagues. He could be starting in this high-powered offense in a season or two.

comments about Brock Osweiler

Notes

Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler hasn't been taking the ability to learn from QB Peyton Manning for granted. 'I'd be lying to you if I said it hasn't been tough to not play over the past three years,' Osweiler said Tuesday, July 7, on Yahoo! Sports Radio, 'but the one thing I do know is ? that I'm going to work on a daily basis with one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game and I guess I really just want to make the most of that situation,' said Osweiler.

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning was not the subject of talks that had him headed for the Houston Texans. Reports suggested some in the Broncos organization wanted to jumpstart QB Brock Osweiler and start the rebuilding process.

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning may not play as much as usual next season in order to give him more rest. Head coach Gary Kubiak has indicated that he will tailor the offense to benefit Manning, including running the ball more. Subsequently, QB Brock Osweiler could see more playing time if Manning's playing time is adjusted. Kubiak said he's impressed with how excited Osweiler is and knows he wants to play a part in the Broncos' offense. Kubiak said Osweiler's opportunity to play will come at some point. 'I always tell young players nobody knows if you're taking care of your business until you're thrown in the fire.'

Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler continues to receive high reviews inside the organization as the eventual successor to QB Peyton Manning, according to sources inside the organization. Osweiler has gone 100-for-170 for 1,089 yards (6.4 yards per attempt) and a four-to-five touchdown-to-interception ratio if 12 preseason games and some mop-up appearances in the regular season since being drafted in 2012.

The Denver Broncos will not trade up in the first round of the NFL Draft to select Central Florida QB Blake Bortles, according to team sources. The Broncos are high on QB Brock Osweiler, who they selected in the second round in 2012, and they also have QB Zac Dysert on roster.

Denver Broncos vice president of football operations John Elway said he does not regret the decision to select QB Brock Osweiler in the second round of the NFL Draft despite the acquisition of QB Peyton Manning last offseason. Elway believes Osweiler will be a franchise quarterback for many years to come. 'My thought was, we wanted a guy for the future, No. 1,' Elway said. 'No. 2, if it didn't work out with Peyton, we could load up with a guy that we liked and who could be the guy for the next 10, 12 years. And No. 3, if Peyton did come back and play like he did, then Brock could get a great education of how things were supposed to be done as a quarterback, what you had to go through, to see one of the best of all time do it.'
Denver Broncos head coach John Fox said he is pleased with the progress QB Brock Osweiler has shown this season and believes he could be the eventual successor to QB Peyton Manning.

Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler was warming up on the sidelines of the team's game Monday, Sept. 17. He was preparing to replace QB Peyton Manning late in the game if a Hail Mary play was called, a situation that never presented itself. 'I was going in for the Hail Mary,' Osweiler said. 'I'm not sure what the dividing line was as far as me going in, but I was getting ready to go in.'
