Givens gives the Rams a legit deep threat in the passing game. He has great speed and big-play ability, just running by defenders at times. Givens should serve as the top big-play receiver for the Rams and could even start his rookie season. He does need help on his route running some and isn't very big, which could cause issues for him as he tries to get off the line.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Givens is another young player worth a late-round grab. He could start for the Rams and has some upside for some big games because of his big-play ability. We think a season with 600 to 700 yards and five touchdowns is possible for Givens. He'll get his chances to stretch the field.

St. Louis Rams WR Chris Givens will have a bigger role in 2013, as the team saw WRs Danny Amendola (Patriots) and Brandon Gibson (Dolphins) leave via free agency. Givens was more comfortable running short and intermediate routes as the season progressed last season, rather than just being a downfield threat. 'He improved weekly,' head coach Jeff Fisher said. 'We were able to do more and more with him as he got more familiar. I think he knows that this is his opportunity.'
Fantasy Impact: Right now, Givens is the No. 1 receiver for the Rams and is setup for a lot of chances in 2013.

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher hinted that WR Chris Givens could have an expanded role the last four games of the season now that he's improving his short game. 'Yeah, we've been talking about that. He's got to bring his game from the long touchdown passes back closer to the line of scrimmage and be more proficient in the short and intermediate passing game, and he's doing that. He's getting to where he needs to get to. He's making the quick catches. It's also very helpful when you have an accurate quarterback to put the ball where he needs to put it. He's a guy that, hopefully, as we push through the rest of the season, will have more plays. What we're looking for is the run after catch opportunities for him, but he's improving,' Fisher said.

St. Louis Rams WR Chris Givens had a 50-yard touchdown in the Week 8 game against the New England Patriots, giving him a fifth straight week with a catch of at least 50 yards or more. That moved him past former Chicago Bears WR Willie Gault for the NFL rookie record. Head coach Jeff Fisher said opposing defenses respect Givens' speed, and he could have some more opportunities in the short and immediate passing game.
