Johnson seemed on his way to earning a job with the Dolphins last season but was involved in an off-the-field incident during camp and released by the team. He didn't catch on with another team despite wanting to continue his career. At this point, it doesn't look good for Johnson to keep playing. At age 35, Johnson could be about done, especially with some of the baggage he brings to a team. When he was on his game a few years back, Johnson was a big-play threat, capable of stretching the field in a hurry. He also has plus hands and runs very good routes.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Johnson could find work again this season but even if he does, he'll be in a reserve role and get little playing time. His days of helping fantasy teams are really over.

Free-agent WR Chad Johnson (Dolphins) was released from jail after serving seven days of a 30-day sentence in relation to violating probation of his domestic violence conviction. Johnson expressed that he learned his lesson. 'I think that Judge McHugh was able to get me do something many people have tried to get me to do for a long time: slow down, just at life in general,' Johnson said. 'She was able to get me to do that, maybe not in the best circumstances for those on the outside but I see being able to sit down and think about life and where I'm going from this point was probably on one of the best things that could happen to me right now. You have to understand, I haven't had any chances because I've never been in any trouble before. I've done nothing wrong ever,' Johnson added. 'This is my first time being in trouble with the legal system. My trouble in the past has been having fun entertaining fans when it came to playing the game of football so this is all new to me.'

Free-agent WR Chad Johnson (Dolphins) was released from jail in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Monday, June 17, after apologize for his inappropriate behavior during a court hearing the previous week. Broward County Circuit Judge Kathleen McHugh cut his 30-day sentence after hearing his apology but ordered him to perform 25 hours of community service and attend twice-a-week domestic violence counseling sessions as part of his probation, which she extended three months from its initial sentence, through mid-October.

Free-agent NFL WR Terrell Owens (Seahawks) visited free-agent WR Chad Johnson (Dolphins) in jail. Owens said Johnson is in good spirits and that seeing him incarcerated was a humbling experience for Owens.

Free-agent WR Chad Johnson was sentenced to 30 days in jail Monday, June 10, for a probation violation in his domestic violence case. His legal side had reached a deal with prosecutors for community service and counseling instead of jail time. After a deal was supposedly in place, he was asked by the judge whether he approved of his lawyer, and Johnson then gave his lawyer a tap on the backside, in the football parlance of approval. This angered the judge, who insisted Johnson wasn't taking the proceedings seriously before rescinding the plea deal and handing down the jail sentence.
Fantasy Impact: This sounds about right. Johnson isn't returning to the NFL in the near future.

"I'm OK now, but I put myself in this situation and I have to deal with everything. With life, I'm at peace with everything. I would love to finish my career off the right way. He failed to meet with probation specialists and failed to show proof of enrollment and completion of the 'Batterers Intervention Program.'
Fantasy Impact: Needless to say, the chances of him continuing his NFL career are really over.
