OutlookRobert Griffin III gives the Redskins plenty of excitement for the coming season. His progression likely makes or breaks the Redskins' season. If he can play similar to Cam Newton last season, the Redskins are going to challenge for a playoff spot. The Redskins have a lot more talent surrounding Griffin than Newton. The defense made huge strides last season, playing well against the pass because of some top corners. Washington has enough talent in place to at least challenge for a playoff spot and the top of the division but they play in a great division, which could slow their progress some. |

Roy Helu, RB. You never know what Mike Shanahan is going to do at running back but Helu certainly deserves first crack at the starter's job. He might not have the great size to start but he is a dual threat with big-play ability. He also played at a high level down the stretch last season when given a chance to start. He is an exciting back in an offensive scheme that produces some big numbers from running backs. Helu can get 1,500-plus total yards and near double-digit scores if he starts in the offense all season long. He has big-time upside. |

Santana Moss, WR. Moss was the No. 1 receiver for year for the Redskins but seems likely to be the No. 3 to open the season. The Redskins are getting younger at the position and looking to make some changes. Moss is a good fit for the slot because of his size and speed but his targets will be down in this role. Don't expect him to near his production of the last few years. His best days are behind him. |
