Chandler took another step forward last season as the starter for Buffalo. He had a career-high 43 receptions and topped 500 yards for the first time in his career. He also scored six touchdowns for the second straight season. Chandler is a top red-zone threat for the Bills. He should continue to start and get his chances in the offense, an offense that seems primed to be improved. Chandler is a huge target at tight end and uses his big frame well, especially in the red zone. He also doesn't have bad speed for his size and runs pretty good routes.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Chandler has value because of his touchdown potential. Don't consider him an every-week starter but a good spot play. His numbers could improve some on last season. A year with around 50 receptions for 600 yards and seven touchdowns is very possible.

Buffalo Bills TE Scott Chandler (knee) has been running well at offseason workouts and believes he could be ready for the start of training camp. Chandler has started running routes a few weeks ago and is running routes and catching passes this week.

Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix said the team will look to add a tight end this offseason because of the injury to TE Scott Chandler (knee). 'Certainly tight end is a concern because a guy gets an ACL at the end of the year like Scott (Chandler) did and it limits your time for rehab and you don't know how strong that guy will come back,' said Nix. 'We've got three or four guys on the roster, but we're definitely looking to add somebody at tight end if we can.'

Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix said tight end is a position of need for the team, in addition to linebacker, wide receiver and quarterback. Nix cited the uncertainty with TE Scott Chandler's (knee) status, as he recovers from surgery to his anterior cruciate ligament. 'We need a young one at that position,' Nix said. He added that they intend to target two or three players in free agency at TE, and that will determine where they go in the draft.

Buffalo Bills TE Scott Chandler (knee) is scheduled to undergo surgery Thursday, Jan. 10, to repair his torn anterior cruciate ligament. He said he will try to come back as soon as he can but understands he will have to work hard during his rehab.
