Hightower didn't play at all last season, getting released by the Redskins before the season. He re-injured his knee during rehab and needed additional surgery. He should be healthy enough to play this season but will need to show he can still play in this league to earn a roster spot. His knee is no sure thing. The good news is Hightower is 27 years old, so there is a chance he can return from his injury issues. Hightower has never been a huge producer. His career high in rushing is 736. He is best suited in spot duty. Hightower is a powerful back with pretty good speed but isn't a game changer. He also is a solid receiver, giving him value in a third-down back role.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Hightower is a risk after last season. Don't draft him but keep an eye on him to see if he starts getting consistent work. He could help in a PPR format at some point during the season but is far from a sure thing. Consider him waiver-wire material if anything.
