Sanders found his way into the starting lineup because of injury and didn't do too badly in a starting role. He had a career-best season, about doubling his stats across the board from the previous season. He had multiple receptions all but two games. His yardage numbers weren't great, though, having more than 50 yards just five times. Sanders has more than 500 yards just once in three seasons, which was last year. He has been reserve material more than anything but should get his chance to compete for a starting job this year. He has a chance for his most playing time to date as a pro. Sanders has top speed and can stretch the field in a hurry. He is a big-play threat in the passing game. Sanders also isn't a bad route runner for a young receiver.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Sanders can do better than last season but don't expect monster numbers. He can get 60 or so receptions for 800 yards and five touchdowns, making him reserve material for fantasy teams. He just doesn't seem to have the skill set to be an every-week fantasy player just yet.

We had a new offensive coordinator. At times, we weren't on the same page. And that's obvious,' Sanders said.

The New England Patriots have signed Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free-agent WR Emmanuel Sanders to an offer sheet, according to a league source. The source said the offer sheet is a one-year deal. The Steelers have five days to decide whether to match the offer or let Sanders go to the Patriots and receive a third-round draft choice in return.
Fantasy Impact: It is looking more and more like the Steelers will match the offer. We'll know in a few days.

The New England Patriots are not in a rush to put in an offer sheet to Pittsburgh Steelers WR Emmanuel Sanders. The Patriots have until April 19 to submit an offer sheet should they choose, any may be waiting to see if the Steeler make any more moves the impact their salary cap, which would make it harder to match a potential offer sheet.

There is no indication if the New England Patriots have dropped their interest in Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free-agent WR Emmanuel Sanders, but the team has not officially signed him to an offer sheet, according to Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert on Sunday, March 17. If the Patriots signed him to an offer sheet, and the Steelers declined to match it, the Patriots would send their 2013 third-round draft pick to the Steelers as compensation.
