Notes
New York Giants WR Jerrel Jernigan has shown progress as Victor Cruz remains absent from OTAs. WR Hakeem Nicks said his teammate has been adjusting well to the slot role, which fits him. 'I feel like he got a lot of reps,' Nicks added. 'He's a little older now, he's a little mature. He got more patient in his routes. ... He's catching the ball a lot better, and he's ready to step up.'
New York Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride said he believes WR Jerrel Jernigan has the opportunity to step his game up during offseason workouts since he will be the main slot receiver with restricted free-agent WR Victor Cruz sitting out the workouts. 'I think it's about time that he steps up. And I think we feel he has enough ability and he's been here now long enough. Until Victor gets back, he'll be the main guy inside at the slot position. It's a chance for him to shine and step forward and do the things that we believe he can do,' Gilbride said.
