Summary

Tight End Rank: #57All Players: #381
Thomas didn't catch a pass in four games last season and has a reception in two NFL seasons. The Broncos aren't giving up on him, though. They hope he is more involved in the offense this year. He has a chance to move up the depth chart some with a good camp and preseason. Thomas is a good athlete that can get down the field in a hurry. Thomas has strong hands but drops some passes. He also isn't much of a blocker or route runner just yet. This could be a make or break year for him.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Thomas is an intriguing talent but just has too much to compete with for playing time to make much of an impact. He could catch some passes this season but not enough to be worth a roster spot.

comments about Julius Thomas

Notes

Denver Broncos head coach John Fox said TE Julius Thomas is a young player that he wants to have a bigger role next season.
Fantasy Impact: He has a lot to compete with for playing time, so we wouldn't expect a huge jump in chances.

Denver Broncos TE Julius Thomas (ankle) had surgery to repair ligaments this past week. The surgery was performed by Dr. Robert Anderson, a noted ankle and foot specialist. Thomas will be limited to work with the team's training and medical staff as the team goes through their offseason conditioning and team workouts over the next two months.

The Denver Broncos still believe in TE Julius Thomas but he will have to compete for playing time after the team added TEs Jacob Tamme and Joel Dreessen this offseason. Thomas was never able to get rid of an ankle he suffered during the early part of the 2011 season.
Fantasy Impact: Thomas has some talent but needs to really show improvement if he hopes to find the field this season.
