Foles was the surprise starter for the Eagles much of his rookie season. He started seven games before missing the last one of the season with a broken hand. Foles was up and down but had some good showings along the way. He completed 61 percent of his passes and had seven total touchdowns to five interceptions. He had two 300-yard games. Foles isn't a polished product by any means, though. He had two games with fewer than 200-passing yards and just one game with multiple touchdowns. Foles will be given a shot to compete for the starter's job in Philadelphia but doesn't seem a great fit for the new offense since he isn't a mobile quarterback. Foles is a pocket passer and doesn't move around great in the pocket, which could hurt his chances to start. Foles brings several positives to the table, though. He is a pretty accurate quarterback with a strong arm and throws a good deep ball. His release also is getting quicker.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Foles is someone to watch in training camp and preseason action. If he wins the starting job, he has obvious upside in what looks to be a pretty explosive offense. He could be a low-end No. 1, capable of throwing for about 4,000 yards and 25-plus touchdowns. But nothing is going to be handed to Foles. He'll need to show he is the starter in this offense.

Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said he was impressed with QB Nick Foles during his limited playing time last season and he will have an opportunity to compete for the starting quarterback job in 2013. 'I think it's to be determined but Nick showed an awful lot before he broke his hand,' Lurie said. 'Poise and accuracy. We're real excited about Nick. I think the best thing is to say to be determined how it's going to work, but he's going to have a great opportunity. He's really bright, he's a very hard worker, he has all the intangibles. We just have to see how he can maximize it or not.'
Fantasy Impact: We aren't sure Foles will be a good fit for the new offense but it seems he'll get a chance to prove his worth.

The Kansas City Chiefs talked with the Philadelphia Eagles about a possible trade involving QB Nick Foles but there was no progress made.
Fantasy Impact: It seems the Eagles want to hang onto Foles going forward.

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said that the team likely will not look to trade QB Nick Foles this offseason. 'Foles is a talented guy, and we just drafted him last year. I think this is a different situation than we've had the past couple of years where we had quarterbacks. We like the player. ... We're trying to accumulate good, young players. We're not in the business of trying to rid of good, young players,' Roseman said.

Fantasy Impact: Foles proved he could be a starter in this league going forward, so he'll have some value wherever he plays in 2013.
