Enmanuel Valdez Sun Jun 2 1:10am ET

Boston Red Sox infielder Enmanuel Valdez went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI, and an additional run scored in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Detroit Tigers. He blasted a solo shot off Reese Olson in the bottom second inning to the tie game 1-1. His homer traveled 399 feet with an exit velocity of 106.4 mph. He followed up that homer with a two-run blast off Olson again in the bottom of the sixth frame. Valdez was recalled from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday to replace Tyler O'Neill (knee), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. The 25-year-old is hitting .179 (17-for-95) with four home runs and 14 RBI over 31 games in 2024. Fantasy managers in deep-league or AL-Only formats looking for outfield help can consider adding Valdez to their rosters.

Ryan Mountcastle Sat Jun 1 11:40pm ET

Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle hit a pair of homers during Saturday's 9-5 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Mountcastle swatted two-run home runs in the first and fourth innings, finishing the day with four RBI and three runs scored. The 27-year-old has logged a hit in eight of his last nine games, including 11 hits in his previous 26 at-bats. Mountcastle is slashing .293/.333/.505 with eight homers, 24 RBI, and 31 runs over 51 games this season. Batting cleanup in the potent Orioles lineup makes Mountcastle a must-start.

Fernando Tatis Jr. Sat Jun 1 11:30pm ET

San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. homered for the 10th time this season as part of a three-hit game during Saturday's 7-3 win at the Kansas City Royals. He took Alec Marsh deep in the first inning to put the Padres on the scoreboard 1-0. His homer traveled 422 feet with an exit velocity of 108.2 mph. Tatis had his third multi-hit game in the last four to extend his hitting streak to seven games. He has boosted his batting average to .261, scoring 30 RBI, 38 runs, and six stolen bases. A hot-hitting Tatis will continue to carry many fantasy teams this season.

Brent Rooker Sat Jun 1 11:30pm ET

Oakland A's outfielder Brent Rooker went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday's 11-9 win over the Atlanta Braves. Rooker took Chris Sale deep for a two-run shot in the top of the fourth inning to put the Braves up 8-3. It was his 12th long ball of the season. He later followed up his home run with a two-run double in the top sixth, giving him four RBI for the day. Rooker extended his on-base streak to 12 games. Overall, Rooker is slashing .283/.364/.561 with 12 home runs, 39 RBI, 25 runs, and two stolen bases over 47 games in 2024.

    From RotoBaller

Vinnie Pasquantino Sat Jun 1 11:20pm ET

Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the San Diego Padres. He blasted a two-run shot off Randy Vasquez in the bottom of the first inning to give the Royals a 2-1 lead. The home run traveled 383 feet with an exit velocity of 109 mph. The 26-year-old is starting to heat up at the plate and has homered in two of his last three games. Overall, Pasquantino is slashing .263/.317/.434 with seven home runs, 15 doubles, a triple, 39 RBI, and 27 runs over 56 games in 2024. Fantasy managers should continue to start Pasquantino while he's wielding a hot bat.

Miguel Andujar Sat Jun 1 11:20pm ET

Oakland A's outfielder Miguel Andujar had his third multi-hit game this week on Saturday, going 4-for-5 with a homer and four RBI in an 11-9 win at the Atlanta Braves. Andujar hit a three-run blast off Braves hurler Chris Sale in the second inning and added a game-clinching RBI single in the eighth. He's been at a blistering .448/.433/.724 pace with 12 RBI in his first seven games with Oakland. He's unlikely to maintain the run but is worth consideration in AL-only or deeper fantasy leagues.

Garrett Crochet Sat Jun 1 11:10pm ET

Chicago White Sox starter Garrett Crochet recorded his eighth quality start in a no-decision in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers in 10 innings. Crochet allowed just one earned run and struck out eight while allowing only one walk over his six innings. The big lefty continues to be a must-start regardless of format, as he has a 5-5 record with a 3.49 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP that is fifth-best in baseball. Crochet's next start might be more challenging, considering he faces the Red Sox at hitter-friendly Guaranteed Rate Field on Friday. Despite the tough matchup, fantasy managers should continue to roll with Crochet in all league formats.

Reid Detmers Sat Jun 1 11:00pm ET

The Los Angeles Angels optioned left-hander Reid Detmers to Triple-A Salt Lake following Saturday's 9-0 loss to the Seattle Mariners. Detmers allowed five runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three across 3 2/3 innings in Saturday's loss to Seattle. Most of the damage to Detmers came off a grand slam to Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford. The 24-year-old has struggled this season, posting a 6.14 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, and 70 strikeouts over 63 innings. He has allowed at least five runs in five of his last seven starts. Detmers will look to get back on track in Triple-A and is mainly a stash in deep-league formats.

    From RotoBaller

Dany Jimenez Sat Jun 1 10:50pm ET

Oakland A's reliever Dany Jimenez pitched a scoreless ninth inning to record his first save of the season in the A's 11-9 win at the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. Jimenez allowed one hit and one walk yet provided a save as regular closer Mason Miller, who pitched two innings on Thursday, was given an extra day of rest. Miller remains the clearcut stopper for Oakland, but Jimenez, making his first appearance since his return from Triple-A, offers the A's a veteran option that fantasy users should consider if Miller is out for an extended period. Jimenez is 1-1 with a 3.45 ERA with a 1.47 WHIP in 16 appearances this season.

    From RotoBaller

Chris Sale Sat Jun 1 10:50pm ET

Atlanta Braves left-hander Chris Sale's 2024 comeback story had its worst chapter on Saturday when the Braves hurler was tagged for nine hits and eight earned runs over four innings in the 11-9 defeat to the Oakland A's. Sale came into the start with a 2.12 ERA but left with an ERA of 3.06 despite taking a no-decision. Sale struck out four and walked one but gave up homers to Miguel Andujar and Brent Rooker. Expect Sale, who is 8-1 with a still-stellar 0.95 WHIP with 82 strikeouts over 67 2/3 innings, to rebound when he faces the Nationals in his next start scheduled for Friday.

    From RotoBaller

Vaughn Grissom Sat Jun 1 10:50pm ET

Boston Red Sox infielder Vaughn Grissom (hamstring) was diagnosed with a mild right hamstring strain after being removed in Saturday's game against the Detroit Tigers. According to Red Sox manager Alex Cora, Grissom is probably going on the injured list. The 23-year-old grabbed his right hamstring running to first base during a groundout. It's not the same hamstring that caused Grissom to miss all of April. He is hitting .148 (12-for-81) with three RBI over 23 games in 2024. Fantasy managers in deep leagues with IL spots can hold onto Grissom for now. David Hamilton should have an increase in at-bats with Grissom sidelined and is a speculative addition in deep leagues after swiping nine bags over 33 games in 2024.

    From RotoBaller

Ranger Suarez Sat Jun 1 10:20pm ET

Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez (hand) underwent x-rays on Saturday, which came back negative. According to Phillies manager Rob Thompson, there is swelling, and they will see how he feels in a few days. Suarez is considered day-to-day. The 28-year-old was removed from Saturday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals after being struck in the left hand by a comebacker. It appears Suarez avoided a severe injury. The southpaw has been lights out this season, posting a 1.70 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and 79 strikeouts over 74 innings. Suarez is tentatively scheduled to start against the New York Mets on Saturday.

    From RotoBaller

Bobby Miller Sat Jun 1 10:10pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Bobby Miller (shoulder) allowed four runs on five hits and one walk while striking out none over 3 1/3 innings in his rehab start with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. He threw 65 pitches, landing 38 pitches for strikes. The 25-year-old allowed three runs on 55 pitches in his previous rehab appearances. Miller has been out since April 13 due to right shoulder inflammation. He owns a 5.40 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 18:6 K: BB across 11 2/3 innings in 2024. Miller could be required to do one more rehab assignment before joining the Dodgers rotation. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Miller on their rosters as the right-hander could return from the injured list soon.

    From RotoBaller

Oscar Colas Sat Jun 1 10:00pm ET

Chicago White Sox outfielder Oscar Colas was called up to the big league roster on Saturday. Andrew Benintendi (Achilles) is expected to be placed on the injured list in a corresponding move. The 25-year-old is slashing .244/.358/.406 with five home runs, 21 RBI, 25 runs, and six stolen bases over 46 games for Triple-Charlotte last year. He does have fantasy upside after slashing .314/.371/.524 in 526 plate appearances between High-A Winston-Salem, Double-A Birmingham, and Triple-A Charlotte in 2022. Colas has a path to everyday playing time and is worth adding to deep-league formats.

    From RotoBaller

Kevin Ginkel Sat Jun 1 10:00pm ET

Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Kevin Ginkel (knee) underwent x-rays on Saturday, which came back negative. Ginkel is considered day-to-day. The 30-year-old was diagnosed with a left knee contusion after being hit in the left leg with a comebacker during Saturday's game against the New York Mets. He picked up the win after throwing a scoreless inning before exiting. The 30-year-old is Arizona's primary setup man after posting a 4.09 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts over 22 innings in 2024. Ginkel has more fantasy value in leagues, counting saves and holds, but is mainly an option in deep-league formats.

    From RotoBaller

Ranger Suarez Sat Jun 1 9:50pm ET

Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez (hand) was removed from Saturday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals after being struck in the left hand by a comebacker. He is undergoing further evaluation after exiting early with a left-hand contusion. The 28-year-old struck out two over two scoreless innings before leaving. He is considered day-to-day and is expected to have x-rays once Saturday's game is over. Suarez has been terrific this season, owning a (9-1) record with a 1.70 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and 79 strikeouts over 74 innings. He is considered day-to-day and is questionable for his next start Saturday against the New York Mets. Stay tuned for more updates.

Yordan Alvarez Sat Jun 1 7:50pm ET

Houston Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez smashed two home runs off of Minnesota Twins starter Joe Ryan on Saturday during the Astros' 5-2 win over the Twins. Alvarez collected another hit and a walk en route to a perfect three-for-three day with three RBI. His first was a two-run shot in the first inning and his second was a solo shot in the fifth inning. The powerful lefty had been struggling a bit with his power this season, seeing his ISO drop from .290 in 2023 to .173 prior to today's game. Notching multiple HR is a great sign for the lefty's power going forward. Fantasy managers need not worry about Alvarez going forward and he should continue to be in starting lineups as often as possible.

    From RotoBaller

Clayton Kershaw Sat Jun 1 7:40pm ET

Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) faced hitters at Dodger Stadium on Saturday afternoon during a live batting practice. This marked the first time during Kershaw's rehab that he has faced hitters. The lefty said he felt great and would likely throw two innings during his next time out in about five or six days. Kershaw is likely still a couple months away from returning but this is a positive step forward for the future hall of famer. His return to the Dodgers will be very welcome as the Dodgers' rotation, though more steady than in 2023, still is a bit of a patchwork rotation right now. Fantasy managers should monitor Kershaw's status going forward and prepare for him to be active at some point after the All Star Break.

    From RotoBaller

Kevin Ginkel Sat Jun 1 7:30pm ET

Arizona Diamondbacks reliever Kevin Ginkel exited Saturday's game against the New York Mets early after being hit in the knee by a comebacker off the bat of Brandon Nimmo. Ginkel was able to walk it off but had a noticeable limp. The team should be releasing more information on Ginkel's status later on Saturday, but until then he should be considered day-to-day. The 30-year-old had been having a subpar year after a very solid 2023 but was due for a touch of positive regression (4.29 ERA vs 3.93 xERA). Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status going forward. In the meantime, Justin Martinez may get a few more innings as a right-handed option out of the pen if Ginkel is to miss some time.

    From RotoBaller

Thairo Estrada Sat Jun 1 7:20pm ET

San Francisco Giants second baseman Thairo Estrada is out of the lineup on Saturday night for the Giants' tilt against the New York Yankees. Brett Wisely will start in his place. This appears to be a mix of a rest day for Estrada while also getting Wisely, a lefty, in a nice platoon matchup against Yankees right-hander Cody Poteet. Estrada had a solid May, hitting for a .731 OPS during the month. Fantasy managers shouldn't worry about Estrada's status going forward while DFS managers may want to take a peek at Wisely for Saturday night as the lefty is hitting for an .845 OPS and six RBI in 29 PA so far this season.
