Mookie Betts Oct 21 12:40pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts was 2-for-4 with a solo homer, a walk, two runs scored, and two stolen bases during an 8-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 of the World Series. The 28-year-old became the first player in MLB history to hit a homer, steal two bases, and score two runs in a World Series game. Betts is one of the brightest stars in baseball, and his elite skill set has been on full display in the postseason. He is a worthwhile building block in any DFS lineups for the rest of the Fall Classic.

Tony Gonsolin Oct 21 12:30pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers rookie right-handed pitcher Tony Gonsolin will start Game 2 of the World Series against the Rays on Wednesday. Gonsolin faced 11 batters and tossed 41 pitches in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series against Atlanta on Sunday, so he may only be able to go a couple of innings. Manager Dave Roberts said that youngsters Julio Urias and Dustin May will also be available out of the bullpen on Wednesday, although Urias and May combined to face 14 batters in Game 7. Whoever is freshest among Gonsolin, May and Urias will likely start in Game 4 on Saturday. Because Gonsolin may not go over a few innings on Wednesday, he's not a sound DFS choice on Wednesday over Rays starter Blake Snell.

Luis Campusano Oct 20 4:10pm ET

San Diego Padres prospect catcher Luis Campusano was arrested and charged in Georgia with felony marijuana possession on October 17. The 22-year-old was pulled over with nearly three times the felony threshold in one of the strictest states on marijuana and faces a punishment of up to 10 years in prison. The Friars No. 4 prospect debuted in 2020 for just one game, homering in four plate appearances before spraining his wrist and missing the rest of the regular season. He was expected to compete for a backup role behind backstop Austin Nola in 2021. While the legal process plays out, dynasty players should hang tight and hope for the best on their premium fantasy asset.

Randy Arozarena Oct 20 3:20pm ET

Tampa Bay Rays rookie outfielder Randy Arozarena has been this year's breakout star during the postseason. He became the first rookie position player to be named Most Valuable Player of an LCS or World Series in the American League Championship Series against the Astros. Arozarena's first hit in the World Series will be his 22nd this month, which would tie him with Derek Jeter for the most hits by a rookie in a single postseason. The 25-year-old will maintain rookie eligibility going into 2021, too. And if Arozarena hits a home run against the Dodgers, he'll tie the playoff home run record of eight currently held by Barry Bonds, Carlos Beltran and Nelson Cruz. He's five hits shy of the playoff record for hits by any player, which currently is held by Pablo Sandoval with 26. Arozarena leads all players this postseason in hits, runs (14), extra-base hits (11) and total bases (47). You can say he's already seriously boosted his fantasy stock heading into 2021.

Ryan Sherriff Oct 20 2:00pm ET

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Brett Phillips and left-handed pitcher Ryan Sherriff have been added to the team's roster for the World Series. Right-hander Aaron Slegers and left-handed reliever Jose Alvarado were subsequently dropped from the roster. Tampa will go with 13 pitchers against the Dodgers, one fewer than they used during the American League Championship Series against the Astros. The World Series has days off after Games 2 and 5, so pitchers will have a bit more rest during the series. Phillips went 0-for-2 in the Division Series against the Yankees, while Sherriff hasn't pitched since the last day of the regular season on Sept. 27, but he could be used in high-leverage situations against the Dodgers left-handed hitters.

Mike Soroka Oct 20 1:53pm ET

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Braves RHP Mike Soroka (Achilles) underwent successful surgery to repair his torn right Achilles tendon Saturday, Aug. 8, and is expected to throw when the club begins spring training.

Luis Perdomo Oct 20 1:50pm ET

San Diego Padres pitcher Luis Perdomo (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery last week and will miss the entire 2021 season. The 27-year-old was once a staple in the Friars staff, making 64 appearances (49 starts) across 2016-2017, but struggled to achieve consistency in the majors. Relegated to long relief and mop-up duties in 2020, Perdomo posted a 5.71 ERA over 17 1/3 frames. Not a free agent until 2023, Perdomo will look to rebound in 2022 to revitalize his career once hes fully recovered.

Luis Perdomo Oct 20 1:43pm ET

San Diego Padres RHP Luis Perdomo (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery within the last week and is expected to be sidelined for the entire 2021 season.

Cody Bellinger Oct 20 9:53am ET

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Cody Bellinger (shoulder) said his right shoulder felt good Monday, Oct. 19.

Wander Franco Oct 20 12:00am ET

Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco, the No. 1 prospect in baseball per MLB Pipeline, is unlikely to make his debut in the World Series against the Dodgers. Franco shared a photo on Instagram of his jersey with a World Series 2020 patch on the sleeve on Monday, fueling speculation that he could be added to the team's roster. He also posted a photo of a jersey with the playoff logo on it before the American League Division Series, but he wasn't on the roster for that series. Franco is part of the team's 40-man postseason player pool and spent the 2020 season training in Port Charlotte. It's fun to think about the talented shortstop making his MLB debut in the World Series, but it seems unlikely to happen.

Walker Buehler Oct 20 12:00am ET

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler will start Game 3 of the World Series against the Rays on Friday. Buehler started Game 1 in the first three rounds of the playoffs, but he just pitched on Saturday in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series. Instead, lefty Clayton Kershaw will be pitching on normal rest in Game 1 on Tuesday. Buehler will be going on five days of rest on Friday after he tossed six scoreless innings last Saturday against Atlanta. The right-handed Buehler would be set up to start a deciding Game 7, if necessary. Buehler is likely to be matched up against veteran right-hander Charlie Morton in Game 3 on Friday. He'll be a fine DFS play in the Fall Classic's third game.

Clayton Kershaw Oct 19 5:00pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers three-time National League Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw will start Game 1 of the World Series against the Rays on Tuesday. Kershaw will be going on normal rest after he threw five-plus innings and allowed four runs in the Game 4 loss to the Braves in the National League Championship Series. The Dodgers have lost each of the left-hander's last three World Series starts, with his lone win in the Fall Classic coming in Game 1 of the 2017 World Series against the Astros, when he struck out 11 hitters in seven innings of one-run baseball. Kershaw's lackluster postseason track record makes DFS players hesitant to rely on him, but the future Hall of Famer hasn't looked terrible this postseason and has a dynamite Dodgers lineup backing him.

Blake Snell Oct 19 2:20pm ET

Tampa Bay Rays right-handed pitcher Tyler Glasnow will start Game 1 of the World Series against the Dodgers on Tuesday, while left-hander Blake Snell will get the nod in Game 2 on Wednesday. Glasnow has a 4.66 ERA in four starts this postseason with 25 strikeouts in his 19 1/3 innings. Snell has sported an ERA of 3.20 in the playoffs and has given up two or fewer runs in three of his four postseason starts. Both Tampa pitchers will be facing a juggernaut of a Dodgers lineup this week, but Snell may have the advantage in terms of DFS upside with the potential to limit Los Angeles' left mashers in Cody Bellinger, Max Muncy, Joc Pederson and Corey Seager.

Cody Bellinger Oct 19 1:20pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger (shoulder) popped his shoulder out of socket during a celebration with Kike Hernandez after his go-ahead home run in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series against the Braves on Sunday. The training staff popped Bellinger's shoulder back into place and he returned to the field in the eighth inning. The left-handed hitter was 4-for-23 with nine strikeouts entering Game 7 of the NLCS, but he broke out with his huge game-winning home run. His shoulder felt sore but functional, and he should be fine for Game 1 of the World Series against the Rays on Tuesday, but it will be something to watch heading into the Fall Classic.

Preller. Both pitchers were recommended for rest and recovery and should be at full strength for spring training camp.
