Chad Pinder Apr 16 2:53am ET

Oakland Athletics 2B Chad Pinder (knee) is set to begin doing extensive baseball activities in the coming days, including swinging a bat and starting a running program.

Adalberto Mondesi Apr 16 2:43am ET

Kansas City Royals SS Raul Adalberto Mondesi (oblique) has ramped up his rehab, but there remains no firm timetable for his return, according to manager Mike Matheny.

Ross Stripling Apr 16 2:33am ET

Toronto Blue Jays RHP Ross Stripling (forearm) is suffering from tightness in his forearm, according to manager Charlie Montoyo, who added that the team does not believe the injury is 'that bad.'

Cavan Biggio Apr 16 2:23am ET

Updating an earlier report, Toronto Blue Jays 2B Cavan Biggio (hand) had X-rays taken on his right hand after being removed from the game on Thursday, April 15, which came back negative. The injury occurred when a line drive hit his fingertips.

Kevin Kiermaier Apr 16 2:13am ET

Tampa Bay Rays OF Kevin Kiermaier (quad) will travel with the team for their six-game road trip that begins Friday, April 16, against the New York Yankees. He could be activated at some point during the trip.

Dylan Cease Apr 16 1:53am ET

Chicago White Sox RHP Dylan Cease (illness) tested negative for COVID-19 and will be able to make his scheduled start on Friday, April 16, against the Boston Red Sox. Cease was placed on the injured list Wednesday, April 14, after exhibiting symptoms but was cleared to return following the negative result.

Cole Sulser Apr 16 1:33am ET

Baltimore Orioles RP Cole Sulser was added to the roster as the team's 27th man for a doubleheader against the Seattle Mariners on Thursday, April 15.

Fernando Tatis Jr. Apr 16 1:23am ET

San Diego Padres SS Fernando Tatis Jr. (shoulder) took live batting practice before the game Thursday, April 15, and the team is 'optimistic' that he'll be ready to come off of the injured list and played against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday, April 16.

Freddy Galvis Apr 15 11:20pm ET

Baltimore Orioles shortstop Freddy Galvis only had one hit in Thursday's doubleheader against the Mariners, but it was a good one. Galvis went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and a walk on the day. He took a Game Two third-inning Justin Dunn fastball out to the flag court for his first HR as an Oriole. Like many of his teammates, Galvis has struggled to start the season, compiling a .167/.255/.262 slash line. He doesn't offer much upside in terms of batting average or power, so he can be ignored by fantasy managers for now.

Cavan Biggio Apr 15 11:13pm ET

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Cavan Biggio (hand) exited early against the Kansas City Royals with pain in his right hand Thursday, April 15.

Bruce Zimmermann Apr 15 11:10pm ET

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Bruce Zimmermann fell to 1-1 in Thursday's Game Two 2-1 loss to the Mariners. Zimmermann pitched five innings, allowing two runs on six hits (including two solo home runs) and three walks with two strikeouts. It wasn't a terrible start, but the O's couldn't give him any run support. The 26-year-old now has a 4.24 ERA with five walks and 11 strikeouts over 17 IP this season. His next start should come on the road against the Marlins.

    From RotoBaller

Trey Mancini Apr 15 11:00pm ET

Baltimore Orioles first baseman/outfielder Trey Mancini had just one hit in Thursday's doubleheader against the Mariners, but made it count. Mancini went 1-for-5 across both games with a two-run home run. He took a Game One first-inning Marco Gonzalez fastball deep to straightaway center for his third HR of the season. Like most of his teammates, Mancini has struggled to start the season, batting just .163. However, he does have the HR and 10 RBI, so he has provided some fantasy production.

Matt Harvey Apr 15 10:40pm ET

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Matt Harvey did not factor in Thursday's Game One 4-2 loss to the Mariners. Harvey pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on three hits (including a two-run home run) and a walk with three strikeouts. The veteran has now turned in two decent starts and one poor start with the O's and has a 5.02 ERA to show for it. Harvey has showed some positive signs this season, but he will need to show more for fantasy managers to trust him. He will next face the Marlins in Miami.

Johnny Cueto Apr 15 9:20pm ET

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Johnny Cueto (lat) is heading to the 10-day injured list with a Grade 1 lat strain. The move will be made on Friday. Cueto was experiencing lat tightness during his outing against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday. He left the start in the sixth inning. Logan Webb, who was just moved to the bullpen after Alex Wood joined the team, is likely heading back into the rotation while Cueto is out. Cueto is off to a strong start to the 2021 season with a 1.80 ERA and 0.85 WHIP through three starts and 20 innings. Fantasy managers in deep leagues and NL-only leagues should hold him in an IL spot through his injury at least up until we get an idea of how long he should be out.

Xander Bogaerts Apr 15 9:10pm ET

Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts has reached base in eight straight games with at least one hit in seven of eight. Through 12 games on the year, he is slashing .370/.431/.457 with four doubles, five walks and six runs. He's yet to hit his first home run, but his underlying power metrics suggest that it should be coming soon. He has an average launch angle of 10.2 degrees this year, up from 8.7 degrees last year. His hard hit rate so far this year (38.2%) is also up from last year (36.8%). Bogaerts has been a steady, reliable hitter for several years now and it looks as if he'll have more support around him this year after the Red Sox had a down year offensively in 2020.

    From RotoBaller

Gavin Lux Apr 15 8:53pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Gavin Lux (wrist) was scratched from the starting lineup Thursday, April 15, because of right wrist soreness.

Miguel Sano Apr 15 8:51pm ET

Minnesota Twins first/third baseman Miguel Sano went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and a solo homer. Sano's homer was his first of the season, a 404-foot blast that left his bat at an exit velocity of 107.3 MPH. The 27-year-old third baseman has been in the midst of a slump, though he's now put together two straight games of great at-bats, with four walks and a homer in his last two contests combined. Sano will get a Friday matchup against Angels' left-hander Andrew Heaney, who has surrendered a career 8.3 percent barrel rate.

    From RotoBaller

Johnny Cueto Apr 15 8:33pm ET

San Francisco Giants RHP Johnny Cueto (lat) has been diagnosed with a grade 1 lat strain and will be placed on the 10-day injured list.

Tucker Davidson Apr 15 8:33pm ET

Atlanta Braves LHP Tucker Davidson was optioned to the team's alternate training site Thursday, April 15.

Ross Stripling Apr 15 8:30pm ET

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed starting pitcher Ross Stripling (flexor) on the 10-day injured list with a flexor strain. Anthony Kay was called up in a corresponding move and was named the starter for Thursday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Stripling was scratched from Wednesday's start against the New York Yankees with what was reported to be right forearm tightness. Stripling struggled through his first two starts of the year, allowing 13 hits and seven earned runs over 8 1/3 innings. He can be safely dropped in all leagues at this point.
