Cincinnati Reds second baseman Jonathan India left Monday's game against the New York Mets with a hamstring injury. India injured his right hamstring while running out an infield single in the fourth inning and was replaced at second base by Matt Reynolds. This isn't great news for India or the Reds as he missed almost two months earlier in the season with an injury to his right hamstring. Stay tuned as the Reds will likely update India's status after Monday's game concludes.

Cincinnati Reds third baseman Mike Moustakas left Monday's game against the New York Mets with a left calf injury. Moustakas hit a single to left field during the fourth inning but appeared to be in pain as he approached first base. He remained in the game but was called out at second base on a fielder's choice one batter later. The Reds moved Nick Senzel from center field to third base to cover for Moustakas while Matt Reynolds took his spot in the lineup. Look for the Reds to update Moustakas' status after Monday's game ends.

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Ross Stripling (hip) threw a bullpen session on Sunday. Provided he continues to show improvement, Stripling is next slated to throw either live batting practice or head off to a rehab assignment. The 32-year-old hurler landed on the injured list on August 3 after he strained his right hip following a July 30. Stripling has made 23 appearances for Toronto in 2022, posting a 5-3 record, 3.16 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 67 strikeouts over 82 2/3 innings of work. It looks like he could be back with the Blue Jays in the next week or two if all goes according to plan.

New York Yankees skipper Aaron Boone said that first baseman Anthony Rizzo (back) could return to the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners if he has a successful workout on Monday and team trainers clear him. Rizzo is missing his fourth straight game on Monday with lower back soreness, but it sounds as though he'll avoid a trip to the injured list. Fantasy managers will want to check New York's starting lineup on Tuesday before reinserting him into their lineups. Since the All-Star break, he's hitting .244 (11-for-45) with five home runs, nine RBI and nine runs scored in 13 games, so fantasy managers will want to get him right back in there once he's back.

New York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo (back) remains out of the starting lineup on Monday against the Seattle Mariners. This will be Rizzo's fourth straight game on the bench due to lower back tightness, but fantasy managers should continue to consider him day-to-day for now. The 33-year-old does have a history of back injuries, though, so it's possible this becomes an injury that lands him on the injured list. DJ LeMahieu will make another start at first base and hit leadoff for the Yankees on Monday against Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert. LeMahieu is usually a pretty solid DFS play out of the leadoff spot for a potent Yankees offense. He's also gone 15-for-46 (.326) with three home runs, six RBI and nine runs scored in 11 games over the last 14 days.

Seattle Mariners rookie outfielder Julio Rodriguez's wrist is still "feeling it a little bit on the vibration" when swinging in the batting cages, according to manager Scott Servais. However, the Mariners aren't ruling out a return from the 10-day injured list for Rodriguez on Wednesday, but they want to see how he responds after more swings on Monday. The 21-year-old All-Star is first eligible to come off the injured on Wednesday, but fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if it doesn't actually happen until later in the week. J-Rod has been a must-start in fantasy in his first year in the majors, as he's hitting .271/.334/.482 with an .816 OPS, 18 home runs, 57 RBI, 55 runs scored and 21 stolen bases in 365 at-bats. Outfield prospect Jarred Kelenic could return to the minors once Rodriguez is activated.

The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned rookie third baseman Miguel Vargas to the minors on Monday with third baseman Justin Turner (abdomen) on track to return from the injured list on Tuesday. Vargas, the team's No. 5 prospect per MLB Pipeline, only appeared in two games for the Dodgers after being called up. He managed to go 2-for-8 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base in those two games, but he'll head back to Triple-A Oklahoma City with Turner ready to return. The 22-year-old can also play third base and first base and was hitting a strong .291/.382/.497 with an .880 OPS, 15 home runs, 72 RBI, 81 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 94 games at Oklahoma City before his first big-league call-up. Vargas has great bat-to-ball skills and is starting to show his raw power from the right-handed side of the plate.

Los Angeles Angels OF Mickey Moniak (finger) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday, Aug. 8, because of a fractured finger.
Cincinnati Reds INF Kyle Farmer (neck) was scratched from the starting lineup Monday, Aug. 8, because of neck stiffness.
Los Angeles Angels pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Oakland Athletics. This will be a rare off day for the two-way superstar. Max Stassi will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth against lefty Cole Irvin. Fantasy managers can look elsewhere for a streaming option for Monday. The expectation is that Ohtani will be back after his rest day here.
