Daniel Bard Mon Oct 3 9:20am ET

Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Daniel Bard was asked to throw multiple innings during Sunday's contest against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bard was fantastic as he struck out six batters while allowing two hits in the win. This notched his 33rd save of the season, which is quite impressive for the 37-year-old reliever. The Rockies aren't very good, so Bard's success hasn't been noticed as much as Edwin Diaz. Despite that, Bard has quietly been one of the best relievers in baseball.

Blake Snell Mon Oct 3 9:10am ET

San Diego Padres starting pitcher Blake Snell looked strong on the mound during Sunday's game against the Chicago White Sox. The left-hander went six innings, allowing three hits, and struck out six batters. Despite his success, Snell was saddled with the tough-luck 2-1 loss on Sunday. He'll finish his regular season with a 3.38 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 171/51 K/BB ratio across 128 innings. The Padres are hopeful that Snell can carry this success into the postseason.

Shea Langeliers Mon Oct 3 9:10am ET

Oakland Athletics catcher Shea Langeliers had himself a nice day at the plate during Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners. The 24-year-old hasn't been too hot with the bat this season, but put together a nice outing here. Langeliers blasted two home runs in what ended up being a 10-0 blowout victory over the Mariners. On paper, Langeliers isn't doing a whole lot at the plate, but is worth holding in dynasty formats. The future is bright and this is only the beginning of his career.

Evan Longoria Mon Oct 3 9:10am ET

San Francisco Giants third baseman Evan Longoria (hand) is set to undergo X-rays following Sunday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The veteran infielder was hit by the ball in the hand while in the field. He wasn't removed from the game, but he likely would've been taken out if his spot in the batting order came up. His availability for Monday's game against the San Diego Padres is unknown. At this point, it's likely that the Giants take the cautious approach and rest Longoria.

Dansby Swanson Mon Oct 3 9:00am ET

Atlanta Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson continued his hot stretch at the plate during Sunday's game against the New York Mets. Swanson kicked off his game with a solo home run off right-hander Chris Bassitt in the opening frame. The 28-year-old finished 1-for-3 on the day with a walk. His power surge has helped the Braves climb to a two game lead over the Mets in the division. Swanson is hitting .277/.329/.448 with 25 homers, 96 RBI and 18 stolen bases this season.

Kenley Jansen Mon Oct 3 9:00am ET

Atlanta Braves relief pitcher Kenley Jansen slammed the door on the New York Mets for the third game in a row. The 35-year-old needed only seven pitches to retire all of the Mets hitters in the ninth inning during Sunday's game. His save counts as his 40th on the season in 47 attempts, which is fairly solid. This is a nice milestone for the veteran reliever who has played a big part in the Braves season. He'll look to add on a few more saves before the season is over.

Trevor Megill Mon Oct 3 8:50am ET

Minnesota Twins relief pitcher Trevor Megill (oblique) exited early during Sunday's game against the Detroit Tigers. The 28-year-old bounced a warmup pitch during the seventh inning. He was immediately lifted after that for precautionary reasons due to oblique tightness. Megill has a 4.80 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 49/17 K/BB ratio across 45 innings this season. His 2022 campaign could very well be done after suffering that injury.

Tyler Anderson Mon Oct 3 12:21am ET

Dodgers' SP Tyler Anderson recorded 10 strikeouts in 5 innings but took the loss in a 4-1 loss to the Rockies on Sunday, Oct. 2.

Blake Treinen Sun Oct 2 7:50pm ET

Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Blake Treinen (shoulder) was able to play catch without any issues on Sunday. The 34-year-old is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Monday. The right-hander has been sidelined since early September due to tightness in his pitching shoulder. It sounds like Treinen is making progress and could return for the start of the postseason. This would be a nice boost for the Dodgers who have been without Treinen for a majority of the season.

Emmanuel Clase Sun Oct 2 7:50pm ET

Cleveland Guardians relief pitcher Emmanuel Clase has been nearly unhittable all season long. On Sunday, the right-hander was called upon to protect a two-run lead over the Kansas City Royals. The 24-year-old needed only 12 pitches to record his major league leading 41st save of the season. He's converted 41 of his 45 save opportunities to go along with a microscopic 1.38 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 75/10 K/BB ratio across 71 2/3 innings. There's still a few games left in the regular season for Clase to add onto his total.

Aaron Judge Sun Oct 2 7:40pm ET

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge went hitless during Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Orioles. The 30-year-old went 0-for-3 with a walk and three strikeouts as he continues to chase the home run record. The righty slugger needs one more home run to surpass Roger Maris for the American League single-season home run record. Currently, Judge is sitting on 61 homers with four games remaining on the schedule. He has failed to hit a home run over his last three contests, but still has time to break the record.

    From RotoBaller

Yandy Diaz Sun Oct 2 7:30pm ET

Tampa Bay Rays infielder Yandy Diaz didn't play in Sunday's contest against the Houston Astros. Manager Kevin Cash has indicated postgame that Diaz sat out for rest purposes. The team wants to make sure that Diaz is fully healthy heading into the postseason. Cash also mentioned that Diaz is only going to play in one of the three final games during the regular season. The final series of the regular season for the Rays begins on Monday against the Boston Red Sox.

    From RotoBaller

Teoscar Hernandez Sun Oct 2 7:30pm ET

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez was mashing on Sunday, getting three hits in four at-bats, two of which were home runs. He ended the game with a pair of runs and three RBI. Hernandez has gone deep four times in his last seven games. The 29-year-old has taken a bit of a step back after a spectacular 2021 season, slashing .267/.316/.495 with 25 HRs, six steals, 70 runs, and 77 RBI. With three more games left, fantasy managers should continue to start Hernandez to help in every category, besides maybe stolen bases.

    From RotoBaller

Mike Trout Sun Oct 2 7:20pm ET

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout blasted his 39th home run of the season against the Texas Rangers on Sunday. The superstar outfielder kicked off what became a six-run inning with an infield hit in the opening frame. He'd come back to blast a homer off Tyson Miller in the fourth inning. The 31-year-old is hitting .282/.367/.627 with 39 long balls and 79 RBI in just 116 games. Possibly, Trout will be able to reach 40 home runs before the season is over.

    From RotoBaller

Albert Pujols Sun Oct 2 7:20pm ET

St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols finished off his career with a bang on Sunday. The veteran slugger smacked his 702nd home run, which ties him with Babe Ruth for second on the all-time list. The 42-year-old drove in three runs before being pulled out alongside Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina in the fifth inning. The team wanted to celebrate their players even though it hurt their chances of winning the contest. Pujols will look to help the Cardinals win another ring before he rides off in the sunset.

    From RotoBaller

Bryan Garcia Sun Oct 2 4:50pm ET

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Bryan Garcia has been recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday. The right-hander will make the start against the Seattle Mariners on Monday. Garcia has a 3.29 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 11/8 K/BB ratio across three starts with the Tigers this season. There should be better streaming options available for Monday's slate. Garcia doesn't have a ton of value against a fairly strong Mariners lineup. In a corresponding move, left-hander Joey Wentz has been optioned to the minors to make room for Garcia on the active roster.

    From RotoBaller

Eric Hosmer Sun Oct 2 4:40pm ET

Boston Red Sox first baseman Eric Hosmer (back) is expected to be activated off the injured list on Monday, according to manager Alex Cora. The left-handed slugger has been out since August 20 due to inflammation in his back. Luckily, it sounds like Hosmer will be ready in time to play during the final series of the regular season. The 32-year-old is hitting .267/.333/.381 with eight homers and 44 RBI through 102 games this season.

    From RotoBaller

William Contreras Sun Oct 2 4:30pm ET

Atlanta Braves catcher William Contreras (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the New York Mets. Contreras does see a lot of time at designated hitter whenever he's not catching. However, the Braves have decided to give the 24-year-old the day off to rest. Marcell Ozuna will serve as the DH and bat seventh against right-hander Chris Bassitt on Sunday. Fantasy managers should expect Contreras to be back in the lineup for their next contest.

    From RotoBaller

Gregory Soto Sun Oct 2 4:20pm ET

Detroit Tigers relief pitcher Gregory Soto made quick work of the Minnesota Twins hitters during Sunday's game. The lefty reliever needed only 12 pitches to close out the game. He earned his 30th save of the season to go with a 3.17 ERA and 60 strikeouts. It has been a down year for the Tigers, but Soto has been a bright spot for the team in the bullpen. The expectation is that he'll continue to be a key part of the bullpen next season.

    From RotoBaller

Kevin Gausman Sun Oct 2 4:20pm ET

Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Kevin Gausman (finger) exited early during Sunday's contest against the Boston Red Sox. He was removed in the third inning due to what appears to be a cut on his middle finger. This doesn't sound like something that is going to limit Gausman going forward. Gausman should be fine for his next start, which is likely going to be in the playoffs.
