Wandy Peralta Wed Sep 20 11:40pm ET

New York Yankees relief pitcher Wandy Peralta (triceps) is dealing with some "tricep stuff," according to manager Aaron Boone. Peralta hasn't pitched in almost a week and could be in danger of missing the remainder of the 2023 regular season. If this is the end of the line for the 32-year-old Dominican southpaw, he will finish the year with a 4-2 record, a solid 2.83 ERA (5.05 FIP), 1.22 WHIP, four saves, 30 walks and 51 strikeouts in 54 relief innings over 63 appearances out of the bullpen for the Yankees. Peralta has been pretty fortunate to have an ERA under 3.00 on the year with a bloated 13.2 percent walk rate, his highest walk rate since 2018 when he was with the Cincinnati Reds.

Julio Rodriguez Wed Sep 20 11:30pm ET

Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez (hand) is undergoing precautionary X-rays on Wednesday after getting hit by a pitch on his left hand in the game against the Oakland Athletics. Rodriguez was hit in the hand in the third inning but stayed in for the entire game, so it doesn't seem to be an injury that will keep the 22-year-old All-Star out for an extended period of time. In the 6-3 victory, J-Rod went 1-for-4 with his 31st home run of the year (a solo shot), the hit by pitch and two strikeouts. We'll keep an eye on his X-ray results, but with an off day coming on Thursday, he could be right back in the lineup for the start of a big series on Friday against the division-rival Texas Rangers. Rodriguez is now only the third player in franchise history with a 100-RBI season by the age of 22.

Luke Raley Wed Sep 20 11:30pm ET

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Luke Raley (arm) said his left arm felt numb and had no strength on his last swing in Wednesday's loss to the Los Angeles Angles during a pinch-hitting appearance in the seventh inning, and he'll head for an MRI exam on Thursday morning. Before his appearance on Wednesday, Raley hadn't played in a game since Saturday when he collided with a staff member during batting practice before the game. Depending on the results of his MRI exam, this could be an injury that sends the 29-year-old outfielder to the injured list to close out the 2023 regular season. Until then, though, consider him day-to-day. Raley has had a breakout season in his third year in the big leagues, hitting .250/.334/.492 with an .826 OPS, 19 homers, 49 RBI, 14 stolen bases and 56 runs scored in 117 games. The Rays at least hope they can use the left-handed power/speed threat for the postseason.
