Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jake Fraley (wrist) has been scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a right wrist contusion. Fraley was hit by a pitch in Tuesday's contest and he's still feeling the effects on Wednesday. Will Benson is taking his place in right field and batting leadoff against Noah Syndergaard and the Dodgers. It sounds like Fraley is just a little sore so hopefully a day off is all that he needs. He can be considered day-to-day for now and fantasy managers should keep an eye on his availability for Thursday's series finale against Los Angeles.

Tampa Bay Rays INF Brandon Lowe (back) will not participate in baseball activities for two to three weeks because the team hopes rest will help him recover.
Baltimore Orioles third baseman Gunnar Henderson (back) is back in the team's starting lineup on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Brewers and right-hander Corbin Burnes. Henderson is starting at third base and is batting sixth in the lineup. The 21-year-old infielder left Saturday's game against the San Francisco Giants prematurely with lower-back discomfort and has missed the O's last three games as a result. However, he'll be back in there on Wednesday and should continue to be part of the club's everyday lineup moving forward despite hitting just .201 (32-for-159) on the season with seven doubles, two triples, six home runs, 15 RBI and 29 runs scored in 52 games. Henderson has been in even more of a rut at the plate of late, too, going 3-for-21 (.143) with a homer, four RBI and eight strikeouts in his last seven contests.

Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Pena is getting a day of rest on Wednesday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Pena could use a day off after going 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to Toronto. It was Pena's second hitless game of the month, but he's otherwise gone 6-for-25 (.240) with a double, two walks and nine strikeouts to begin June in six contests. In his second major-league campaign, the 25-year-old Dominican shortstop is batting .250 (58-for-232) with 14 doubles, a triple, eight home runs, 26 RBI, six stolen bases and 35 runs scored in 253 plate appearances and 60 games. Mauricio Dubon is starting at the 6 and hitting leadoff on Wednesday against Jays right-hander Chris Bassitt. Dubon has earned plenty of playing time in 2023 by hitting .294 (55-for-187) with two homers, 11 RBI and three steals.

Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Matt Chapman (toe) is starting at third base and is batting fifth in the lineup on Wednesday against right-hander Ronel Blanco and the Houston Astros. Chapman had in infected and ingrown toenail removed on Monday and sat out of Tuesday's contest, but he'll be back on Wednesday for fantasy managers. The 30-year-old is having a very fine season in his second year in Toronto in 2023, as he's currently slashing .281/.362/.487 with an .849 OPS, a league-leading 22 doubles, eight home runs, 30 RBI and 32 runs scored in 60 games played. He's not off to a great start in five games in June, going 3-for-16 (.188) with a homer and two RBI, but Chapman deserves to be in starting lineups on a regular basis.

New York Yankees OF Aaron Judge (toe) was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday, June 7, because of a sprained toe. The team also selected the contract of OF Billy McKinney from Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and transferred RHP Ryan Weber (forearm) to the 60-day injured list.

Milwaukee Brewers INF Willy Adames (concussion) was activated from the seven-day injured list Wednesday, June 7. The team also optioned INF Brice Turang to Class AAA Nashville.

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (oblique) is back at second base and is hitting second on Wednesday against Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Chris Bassitt. Altuve recently made his season debut after recovering from a fractured thumb that he sustained in the World Baseball Classic, but he just missed the last four games with oblique tightness. Thankfully, the 33-year-old All-Star second baseman has managed to avoid the injured list for now, and he should be returned to all starting fantasy lineups on Wednesday. In his first 11 games of 2023, Altuve has gone 12-for-42 (.286) with three doubles, two home runs, six RBI and eight runs scored. He's a must-start whenever he's in Houston's lineup.

Kansas City Royals RHP Josh Staumont (neck) was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday, June 7, because of a neck strain. The team also recalled LHP Austin Cox from Class AAA Omaha.
San Diego Padres designated hitter Nelson Cruz (hamstring) is starting his minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday. The seven-time All-Star and four-time Silver Slugger winner has had a Hall of Fame-worthy career, but he's clearly close to the end and is hitting .238 (25-for-105) with four doubles, one triple, only three home runs, 16 RBI and 36 strikeouts (four walks) in 36 games in his first year in San Diego in 2023. The Boomstick is recovering from a right-hamstring strain, but he could come off the 10-day injured list when he's eligible this weekend, barring a setback with the Chihuahuas. Cruz has mostly been splitting DH duties for the Friars with the left-handed hitting Matt Carpenter.

Los Angeles Dodgers rookie outfielder Jonny DeLuca is making his major-league debut on Wednesday, starting in center field and batting eighth in the lineup against Cincinnati Reds left-hander Brandon Williamson. The Dodgers' No. 20 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, DeLuca got the call to the big leagues after hitting a combined .292 (57-for-195) with 11 doubles, a triple, 14 homers, 37 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 41 runs scored in 49 games with Double-A Tulsa (32 games) and Triple-A Oklahoma City (17 games). For as long as the 24-year-old right-handed hitter is up with LA, he's likely to mostly face lefties like on Wednesday. The former switch-hitter is strictly hitting from the right side now and has impressive raw power as well as plus speed, making him worth stashing in dynasty/keeper leagues.
From RotoBaller
New York Yankees left-hander Carlos Rodon (back) faced live hitters at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday. He was able to throw 20 pitches during his bullpen session, and his fastball was around 92-94 mph on the radar gun. Rodon also threw all of his pitches during the session, and his next step will be a similar workout. The 30-year-old southpaw has yet to pitch for the Yanks in 2023, but they aren't going to rush him back too soon. Barring another setback, the All-Star hurler could make his season debut in pinstripes at some point in late July. Fantasy managers will have to continue being patient, but when he's healthy, Rodon proved the last two years in San Francisco that he can be an ace. Continue to stash him in all fantasy formats.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Reds infield prospect Elly De La Cruz is getting the start at shortstop and is batting cleanup against the Los Angeles Dodgers and right-hander Noah Syndergaard in his second major-league start on Wednesday. De La Cruz hit cleanup and played third base in his big-league debut on Tuesday and finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and two walks. Kevin Newman will slide over to third base and will hit eighth, while Matt McLain will serve as the designated hitter while batting second. The 21-year-old De La Cruz is the No. 4 overall prospect in baseball, per MLB Pipeline, and he should be rostered in all fantasy formats for his immense upside at a premium position. There's nothing he can't do on a baseball field and he'll be playing every day in Cincy.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Twins infielder Royce Lewis (head) is back in the starting lineup on Wednesday, starting at third base and batting seventh against right-hander Shawn Armstrong and the Tampa Bay Rays. Lewis was injured in a collision on Sunday against the Cleveland Guardians and didn't play in Tuesday's series opener against the Rays, but the 24-year-old is back in there on Wednesday. Despite hitting only .200 (5-for-25) in his first six games of the season, Lewis should remain an everyday player for the Twins at third base moving forward. Of his five hits, one has been a double, two have cleared the fences and he also has six RBI.
From RotoBaller
Cleveland Guardians shortstop Amed Rosario (knee) is back at shortstop and is hitting second on Wednesday against Boston Red Sox right-hander Kutter Crawford. Rosario will return to the team's starting lineup after missing a couple of games with left-knee soreness, but he'll be available for fantasy managers again Wednesday. Gabriel Arias will return to the bench as a result. Aside from eight stolen bases on the year, Rosario has done very little offensively for fantasy managers, and he's hitting just .146 (6-for-41) with three doubles and four RBI in his last 12 games. In 211 total at-bats in 2023, the 27-year-old Dominican is slashing only .227/.273/.318 with one long ball and 14 RBI.
From RotoBaller
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Roansy Contreras was ambushed for seven runs by the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday. The 23-year-old faced seven batters before finally recording his first out, but was pulled after the A's batted around in the first inning. Pittsburgh loaded the bases in the ninth frame, but they fell short in a 9-5 defeat. Contreras ate his fifth loss of the year and failed dramatically as a popular streamer and budget DFS play in what seemed to be very favorable draw. The former Pirates top prospect saw his ERA balloon to 5.91 and his WHIP to 1.54 across 56 1/3 innings this year. Despite a seemingly promising 2022, Contreras' suspect hard-hit rate (45.9%) has carried over to haunt him in 2023. The right-hander should not be trusted when he encounters Drew Smyly and the Chicago Cubs next Wednesday, barring a slide back to the bullpen beforehand.
