Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive back Richard Sherman (hamstring) is out a few weeks but is not expected to be placed on injured reserve. He underwent an MRI on Friday, which confirmed he would miss a "couple of weeks." The All-Pro corner left the first quarter of Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles and did not return. The Buccaneers' secondary has been decimated by injuries and could be without their top corners for the next few games. Ross Cockrell will have an expanded role while Sherman is sidelined.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) plans to play through his shoulder injury (labral tear) and is expected to suit up in Thursday's game against the Denver Broncos. The former No.1 overall pick suffered a labral tear in his left shoulder in Week 4 and re-aggravated the injury in Sunday's 37-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. His left arm was in a sling, and he will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of his shoulder issue. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Mayfield plans to play through the injury. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation leading up until Thursday's game. Mayfield has thrown for 1,674 yards and a 6:3 TD: INT ratio while rushing for 75 yards and a touchdown over five games in 2021. The 26-year-old is considered a borderline QB2 if he does suit up Thursday against the Denver Broncos. Stay tuned for more updates.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Richard Sherman (hamstring) had an MRI confirm the initial diagnosis that he would only be out a couple of weeks, and IR is not an option for now.
Dak Prescott Expected To Be Fine After Week 7 ByeDallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (calf) was spotted in a walking boot after suffering a right calf strain in Sunday's 35-29 win over the New England Patriots. He completed 36-of-51 passes for 445 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception while rushing for 10 yards on three attempts in Sunday's win. The Cowboys quarterback "assures" everyone that his calf will be fine after the Week 7 bye. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Prescott was dealing with a calf injury and tweaked it in overtime; "if he needed to play a couple of more plays, he would have been able to do." The 28-year-old will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of his injury. Prescott is considered day-to-day. Stay tuned for more updates.
Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield (shoulder) said his left shoulder dislocated again in Week 6. 'It dislocated again and then slipped out again on a non-contact play,' Mayfield said. 'Just got to figure out a way to get it better.' Mayfield said it felt worse than the original dislocation, and he'll have an MRI Monday, Oct. 18.
Fantasy Spin: Mayfield says he'll play Thursday night. We're not sure how realistic that is if they want to remedy this issue the best they can. If he sat out, he'd have two full weeks to heal up before taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers Halloween night. Mayfield is 26th in fantasy points at the position the last three weeks. So it's very clear the injury is affecting him, and he shouldn't be starting in fantasy right now.
The Pittsburgh Steelers defense played well in a 23-20 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6. Pittsburgh sacked Seattle quarterback Geno Smith five times and recovered a Smith fumble in overtime that set up the eventual game-winning field goal. While the game may have looked different if Russell Wilson (finger) had been active, the Steelers still got the job done on Sunday night in limiting Seattle to 309 yards of total offense. Pittsburgh now has their bye in Week 7 before they head on the road to take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 8.
Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Eric Ebron caught both of his targets for 10 yards and added a one-yard rushing touchdown in a 23-20 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6. Ebron found the end zone for the first time all season on a one-yard run to cap off a first-quarter drive in the eventual win. Despite the score, the veteran tight end continues to take a back seat to rookie Pat Freiermuth, who finished second on the team in catches, receiving yards, and targets. Ebron is no longer fantasy-relevant, at least while he remains a member of the Steelers. He will head into his bye in Week 7 with seven catches for 47 yards on the year.
Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell made all three of his field goals, including a 37 yarder to win it in overtime, in a 23-20 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6. Boswell also hit a 52-yard field goal with 1:30 left in the fourth quarter to give Pittsburgh a lead in the contest. The veteran kicker has been very accurate this season, hitting 11 of his 12 field goals and all 12 of his extra points, but a pedestrian Pittsburgh offense has limited his upside in fantasy. The Steelers have their bye in Week 7 before they take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 8.
New York Giants wide receiver C.J. Board (arm) suffered a broken arm in Sunday's 38-11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He was carted off in the first half with an air cast on his left arm and did not return. The 27-year-old did not record a catch before exiting. The Giants have been destroyed with injuries at the wide receiver position as now Kenny Golladay (knee), Kadarius Toney (ankle), Darius Slayton (hamstring), and Board are sidelined. Board is expected to be placed on injured reserve and miss an extensive amount of time. Dante Pettis and Collin Johnson would see an increased role, but neither is on the fantasy radar at the moment.
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool turned in a disappointing performance in a 23-20 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6. Claypool finished with just two catches for 17 yards in the win, despite tying for second on the team with seven targets. The second-year wideout and Ben Roethlisberger just couldn't get on the same page on Sunday night. Despite Claypool's slow outing, the arrow is pointing up for him going forward with JuJu Smith-Schuster (shoulder) out for the remainder of the season. Claypool and the Steelers have their bye in Week 7 before they head to Cleveland to take on the Browns in Week 8.
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver James Washington caught his lone target for a nine-yard gain in a 23-20 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6. Washington's catch came on Pittsburgh's second drive of the game and he was not heard from again in the contest, despite operating as the No. 3 receiver in the Pittsburgh offense with JuJu Smith-Schuster (shoulder) out for the year. Washington is simply not going to be a major piece of this offense, even with Smith-Schuster sidelined. The Steelers head into their bye in Week 7 before a divisional matchup against the Cleveland Browns in Week 8.
Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth caught all seven of his targets for 58 yards in a 23-20 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6. Freiermuth finished second on the team in both catches and receiving as the Steelers leaned on their rookie tight end to move the sticks in the win. The rookie now has 18 catches for 158 yards and a touchdown through the first six games of his career. He will now get a chance to get a breather as Pittsburgh heads into their bye in Week 7. Freiermuth and the rest of the Steelers will take on the Cleveland Browns on the road in Week 8.
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris turned in a solid performance in a 23-20 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6. Harris carried the ball 24 times for 81 yards and added six catches for 46 yards and a touchdown in the win. His touchdown came on a short, five-yard pass from Ben Roethlisberger in the first quarter to kick off the scoring for Pittsburgh. The rookie running back continues to turn in quality fantasy outings as he has four total touchdowns through the first six games of his career. Harris and the Steelers head into their bye in Week 7 before a divisional clash with the Cleveland Browns in Week 8.
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson caught nine of 13 targets for 71 yards and added a 25-yard rush in a 23-20 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6. A week after drawing just two targets, Johnson led the Steelers in catches, targets, and yardage in the victory over Seattle. Johnson continues to operate as Ben Roethlisberger's favorite target in the passing attack and should continue to see plenty of looks going forward with JuJu Smith-Schuster (shoulder) out for the year. The Steelers have their bye in Week 7 before they gear up for a road game against the Cleveland Browns in Week 8.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger completed 29 of 40 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown in a 23-20 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6. Roethlisberger found running back Najee Harris for a short, five-yard touchdown in the first quarter to kick off the scoring for the Steelers in the win. The veteran signal-caller continues to show very little upside this season as Sunday's win marks the fifth time in six games that he has exactly thrown one touchdown pass. Now just a high-end QB3 for fantasy purposes, Roethlisberger and the Steelers head into their Week 7 bye with a 3-3 record.
Seattle Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner tallied 14 tackles - including eight solo stops - in Week 6 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Seattle Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner made a season-high 14 tackles - including seven solo stops - in Week 6 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pittsburgh Steelers LB T.J. Watt finished with seven tackles - six solo - including three for loss in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks. He also registered two sacks and deflected three passes.
Seattle Seahawks TE Gerald Everett hauled in two of his three targets for 40 yards in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fantasy Spin: Everett was reinstated from the COVID-19 list on Monday, so this game marked his first game action since Week 3. The highlight of his day was a 41-yard grab with about four minutes left in the third quarter in which he broke about two or three tackles before falling about three yards shy of the end zone. Everett appears to still be splitting time with Will Dissly in an offense quarterbacked by Geno Smith right now, so he's nothing more than a desperation TE2 - at least until Russell Wilson returns from IR.
Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton caught eight of 14 targeted passes for 94 yards and a touchdown during the team's Week 6 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Fantasy Spin: Injuries have thinned Denver's receiver corps, and Sutton is the clear top option on the outside right now. He's definitely been feast or famine this year -- three games of 90-plus receiving yards and three games of less than 50 -- but he could fill a WR3 slot with WR2 upside most weeks.
