Mike Williams Oct 28 9:10am ET
    Mike Williams

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. He was a game-time decision and ended up suiting up in Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens. The Chargers wide receiver caught two of his five targets for 27 yards in a Week 6 blowout loss versus the Ravens. He was on the sidelines most of the fourth quarter, but reportedly it was a precaution due to the game's blowout nature. Williams had the bye in Week 7 to rest his knee and appears fully recovered after logging a full practice on Wednesday. The 27-year-old is having a break-out season in 2021, hauling in 33-of-56 targets for 498 yards and six touchdowns over six games. Williams is a borderline WR1 against the New England Patriots in Week 8.

    From RotoBaller

DeVante Parker Oct 28 8:43am ET
    DeVante Parker

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (shoulder, hamstring) has good recent history against the Buffalo Bills if he's able to return in Week 8. Over the last three games, spanning this season and last, Parker has 17 catches for 211 yards and a touchdown against the Bills.

Fantasy Spin: Parker would be a high-end WR3 if he can make it back this week.

    From TheHuddle

Matt Ryan Oct 28 8:43am ET
    Matt Ryan

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan did not throw a touchdown in two games against the Carolina Panthers last year. He was 42-for-67 for 507 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions.

Fantasy Spin: Ryan is 20th in fantasy points at the position, and his time as a starter in fantasy has passed. He's only an option in two-QB leagues, and you should look elsewhere if you're covering a bye.

    From TheHuddle

DeAndre Hopkins Oct 28 8:30am ET
    DeAndre Hopkins

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) is expected to play in Thursday's matchup against the Green Bay Packers. He is listed as questionable for Thursday Night Football after not practicing all week with a hamstring injury. According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the Cardinals are "expecting/hopeful" Hopkins will play. Fantasy managers should check back an hour and a half before 8:20 ET game time to ensure the star receiver is active. The 29-year-old has caught 33 of his 47 targets for 420 yards and seven touchdowns in seven games. Hopkins is an elite WR1 and, if active, should be started in all league formats.

    From RotoBaller

    T.J. Hockenson Oct 28 7:20am ET
    T.J. Hockenson

Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson (ankle, knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. He has been bothered by a knee injury most of October and is now dealing with an ankle issue. The 24-year-old has yet to miss any games, but injuries have limited his production. Hockenson has hauled in 22-of-33 targets for 196 receiving yards and hasn't found the end zone over his last five games. The Lions' tight end is expected to suit up for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite the recent lack of production and injuries, Hockenson is considered a mid-range TE1 in Week 8.

    From RotoBaller

Chase Claypool Oct 28 6:20am ET
    Chase Claypool

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool (hamstring) comes out of his Week 7 bye to take on the Cleveland Browns on the road in Week 8. Claypool disappointed in his last game, catching just two passes for 17 yards, but he should bounce back in a plus matchup against Cleveland in Week 8. Cleveland has struggled to contain opposing receivers this season, allowing the 11th-most fantasy points per game to the position. The Browns could be without top cornerback Denzel Ward (hamstring), which would be a boost to Claypool's fantasy stock. Claypool continues to show a boom/bust element in his game in his second year but he can be used as a solid WR2 in Week 8 against Cleveland.

    From RotoBaller

Jeff Wilson Oct 28 6:20am ET
    Jeff Wilson

San Francisco 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr. (knee) has an outside chance to practice this week. He hasn't played at all this year after having meniscus surgery in May, and the 49ers are "hopeful" the running back could return in a few weeks. The 25-year-old rushed for 600 yards on 126 attempts and seven touchdowns while catching 13-of-28 targets for 133 yards and three scores over 12 games in 2020. He is still a few weeks away from returning, and it's unclear what Wilson's role will be when he is back. Elijah Mitchell continues to lead the 49ers backfield, followed by Trey Sermon and JaMycal Hasty. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Wilson in 12-team or more leagues.

    From RotoBaller

James Washington Oct 28 6:20am ET
    James Washington

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver James Washington failed to capitalize on his increased opportunities in Week 6. Despite JuJu Smith-Schuster (shoulder) being out for the season, Washington only played eight snaps against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6, finishing with one catch for nine yards. He will look to bounce back in a plus matchup against the Cleveland Browns in Week 8. Cleveland is allowing the 11th-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season and may be without top cornerback Denzel Ward (hamstring) in Week 8. That being said, Washington can't be trusted for fantasy until he shows that he will be a major piece of the Pittsburgh offense. Treat him as a desperation flex for Week 8.

    From RotoBaller

Diontae Johnson Oct 28 6:00am ET
    Diontae Johnson

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson has been heavily targeted in 2021, having drawn double-digit looks in all but one of his games played. He will head on the road to take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 8 in what sets up as a plus matchup for the veteran wideout. Cleveland is allowing the 11th-most fantasy points per game to opposing receivers and may be without top cornerback Denzel Ward (hamstring) in the game. Johnson can be trusted as a low-end WR1 against Cleveland in Week 8.

    From RotoBaller

Najee Harris Oct 28 5:50am ET
    Najee Harris

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris is off to an impressive start to his rookie season. He comes out of his Week 7 bye with 632 all-purpose yards and four total touchdowns. Harris will get his first taste of the Steelers/Browns rivalry when he takes on Cleveland on the road in Week 8. The Browns have been tough on opposing running backs this year, allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position through seven games. Harris remains one of the few true bell-cow backs in the league as he has played on 86.4% of his team's offensive snaps thus far. Usage alone, especially in the passing game, is enough to overcome a tough fantasy matchup for Harris, leaving him as a low-end RB1 for Week 8.

    From RotoBaller

Ben Roethlisberger Oct 28 5:40am ET
    Ben Roethlisberger

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger comes out of his bye with seven touchdowns and four interceptions in six games. The veteran will be greeted with a plus matchup on the road against the Cleveland Browns in Week 8. While Roethlisberger has only thrown for multiple touchdowns once all year, the Browns are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing signal-callers. The matchup is right for Roethlisberger, although it remains to be seen whether he can take full advantage of it in his age-39 season. Treat Roethlisberger as a low-end QB2 for Week 8.

    D'Onta Foreman Oct 28 3:03am ET
    D'Onta Foreman

The Tennessee Titans worked out free agent RB D'Onta Foreman (Falcons) on Wednesday, Oct. 27.

Zach Cunningham Oct 28 2:53am ET
    Zach Cunningham

Houston Texans LB Zach Cunningham is 'available' to be acquired in a trade, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano.

    From TheHuddle

Jaire Alexander Oct 28 2:33am ET
    Jaire Alexander

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that the team is optimistic CB Jaire Alexander (shoulder) will return from his shoulder injury this season, though he did not put a potential timeframe on Alexander's recovery.

    From TheHuddle

Kyle Fuller Oct 28 2:13am ET
    Kyle Fuller

Denver Broncos CB Kyle Fuller is a 'prime candidate' to be traded before the Nov. 2 deadline, in the opinion of ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, who adds that the Broncos may even be willing to pay some of Fuller's remaining salary to facilitate a deal.

    From TheHuddle

Willie Snead Oct 28 1:33am ET
    Willie Snead

The Carolina Panthers are signing free-agent WR Willie Snead (Raiders) to the practice squad, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

    From TheHuddle

    J.J. Watt Oct 28 1:13am ET
    J.J. Watt

Arizona Cardinals DL J.J. Watt (shoulder) will undergo shoulder surgery that is expected to sideline him for the remainder of the season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. No date has been set for the procedure.

    From TheHuddle

    J.J. Watt Oct 27 10:50pm ET
    J.J. Watt

Arizona Cardinals defensive end J.J. Watt (shoulder) is now likely to undergo season-ending surgery on his shoulder, according to sources. Watt injured his shoulder in the second quarter of the Week 7 win over the Houston Texans but still managed to play the rest of the game. He was ruled out for the Thursday night game against the Green Bay Packers, and it looks like he won't play another down in his first season in Arizona in 2021. The oft-injured five-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro will finish the season with 16 tackles (10 solo), five tackles for loss, 10 QB hits, one forced fumble and one sack in seven games for the Cardinals. The Cardinals defense/special teams has been a top-five fantasy unit through the first seven weeks, but losing Watt the rest of the way is a big blow.

    From RotoBaller

Danny Etling Oct 27 10:43pm ET
    Danny Etling

Seattle Seahawks QB Danny Etling was released from the practice squad Wednesday, Oct. 27.

    From TheHuddle

    Jason Pierre-Paul Oct 27 10:20pm ET
    Jason Pierre-Paul

Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Richard Sherman (hamstring) and linebacker Lavonte David (ankle) both returned to limited practices on Wednesday, while outside linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul (finger, shoulder) didn't practice. Getting Sherman back would be excellent news for a depleted secondary as they get ready to face the division-rival New Orleans Saints this Sunday, even if he's no longer in the prime of his illustrious career. Pierre-Paul should be ready to go for the game this weekend. Even with injuries to their secondary, the Buccaneers defense/special teams will be a strong starting fantasy option this weekend against a Saints offense that is averaging just 296.7 total yards per game, which ranks fourth-lowest in the league.
