I would never suggest we extend the deadline - I’m saying the nfl has made it impossible to know if you’re player is playing until it’s too late - hence that much more of a need for an IR spot :)

But I appreciate the ideas about the IR slot. So we can work through the plusses and minuses this season to add the rule with minimal impact next year.

The reason for the free agent deadline for our league is the Thursday night games. And if I extend the deadline for injury reports for free agent pick-ups, to Friday, how do we deal with players that have already played?
I know injuries are frustrating, but we all suffer from a down player IR or not, at some point. How each team owner deals with it is part of what wins you a week or the season or puts you in the basement.

As the league makes changes every year , and the sport changes , we do need to consider how we play our game as well - an additional IR spot isn’t a gateway to more change :)

Announcing injuries , just so Rodger Goodall or the player association or whomever can squeeze every last dime out of the league just seems a step too far and completely not related to any spirit of fantasy football as I know it etc. Injuries shoujd be the frustration of seasons , and god knows they are. Guessing what those injuries mean and how real they are seems a frustration that , especially in loss , is too frustrating to bear and entirely non sequitor

Your words have spoken to me , and I will try to encorporate that sentiment most seriously in moving forward. Genuinely, I don’t take what you’re saying lightly. This isn’t about changing the league and its rules and ways , and what makes it so special , but rather as the nature of the game changes making slight modifications - one extra roster spot in an era of unusually high injuries , or even as I have just been trudging through these last few weeks , the nfls new every changing protocol on

Could always allow independant pick ups for players ruled out after pick uos (an abbreviated version of rolling pick ups , one that only applies to players ruled out Thursday Friday sat Sunday etc

So here’s another issue to consider in adding IR / or more specifically , unable to play slots :
The nfl doesn’t require you to declare if a player is active or playing on mon thru Wednesday. It’s not until Thursday that teams are required to declare so , the information needed to drop or pick up isn’t even available to us until after pick ups. I’m sure it could be shash-splained (trademark pending ) to me how that’s a valuable strategy that makes this league so special but now it’s just a
