NEVER TELL ME THE ODDS, OMITB WEEK 4

Ringwraiths 88% 21%
Show Me Your TD's 87% 16%
Pacheco's Playmakers 84% 14%
One Trick Pony 83% 16%
Keep Their Heads Ringin' 82% 10%
The Duke Boys 75% 11%
Lloyd Christmas 72% 9%
Carolina Diesel 18% 3%
New Kid 9% <1%
DaNoNames 2% <1%
Injured Reserve <1% <1%
Dawg Puck 0% 0%

But you didn't hear it from us. Wherever you are on this chart, there is still time to turn it around, so good luck!

OMITB WEEK 3 RECAP

Greetings, OMITB! The Week 3 doubleheader is now in the books. Let's see what happened:

  • Show Me Your TD's (5-1, G1) gets the weekly high score against the winless Injured Reserve and Dawg Puck, and sweeps them, moving up to the top spot, ahead of a pair of huge matchups in Week 4.
  • #2 Pacheco's Playmakers (5-1, B1) dropped from the ranks of the undefeated, but behind a big week from Kyren Williams, the Playmakers split the week, losing to Lloyd Christmas and beating a Dawg Puck team that is looking just brutal at the moment. They'll play for first place in Week 4.
  • #3 Keep Their Heads Ringin' (4-2, R1) split the week, beating DaNoNames and losing to the Ringwraiths. They hold on to first place in the Red Division, but have a top-3 showdown this week.
  • The #4 Ringwraiths (4-2, R2) had their best week of the season to date and won the big divisional showdown with Keep Their Heads Ringin', while beating Injured Reserve for the sweep, to get above .500 just in time for a tough weekly draw.
  • #5 The Duke Boys (4-2, G2), with a roster sporting more "O's" and "U's" than Ouagadougou, got a sub to star in Week 3 to split the week, beating the New Kid and losing to One Trick Pony.
  • #6 Lloyd Christmas (4-2, R3) rode a fantastic MNF QB performance to a sweep of Carolina Diesel and Pacheco's Playmakers, to keep pace in the top-heavy Red Division and have an opportunity to move up in Week 4.
  • #7 One Trick Pony (4-2, G3) got a big week from Barkley to sweep The Duke Boys and Carolina Diesel, and keep pace in Gold.
  • #8 New Kid (3-3, B2) learns the lesson that 97 points is just "meh," but that sometimes "meh" is enough, losing to The Duke Boys, but beating DaNoNames to stay .500.
  • #9 DaNoNames (2-4, B3) benched the drafted QB for the Waiver Wire Wonder and it cost them a split, so they lose two, to Keep Their Heads Ringin' and New Kid, to drop under .500.
  • #10 Carolina Diesel (1-5, R4) got more solid RB play, but less than 20 points total from the WR, TE, K, and DST positions, and got swept for the second straight week, while losing another TE to injury.
  • #11 Injured Reserve (0-6, G4) still hasn't hit the century mark, and got swept by #1 Show Me Your TD's and the #4 Ringwraiths, leaving them looking for answers...and wins.
  • Also without a win (or a reliable QB), #12 Dawg Puck (0-6, B4) is trying to live down to the new name, posting just 63 to lose to Pacheco's Playmakers and Show Me Your TD's.

With 16 games left in the OMITB season, there is still time to make something good happen (or, failing that, to be something bad happening to another team). We're done with the first round of divisional games and now focus for a while on overall standings, so take a deep breath and:

NEVER TELL ME THE ODDS, OMITB WEEK 3

Happy Waiver Day, OMITB! When we say "never tell us the odds," that's really more of a guideline than a rule, so if you're wondering where FantasyPros puts the playoff / championship chances right now, well:

Pacheco's Playmakers 92% 20%
Show Me Your TD's 87% 19%
Keep Their Heads Ringin' 87% 13%
Ringwraiths 80% 16%
The Duke Boys 68% 8%
Carolina Diesel 60% 12%
Lloyd Christmas 56% 7%
New Kid 29% 2%
One Trick Pony 27% 2%
DaNoNames 9% <1%
Injured Reserve 4% <1%
Dawg Puck <1% <1%

The injuries are sure piling up, but there are still 18 games to go, so, yes, we're telling you there's a chance. Good luck!

OMITB WEEK 2 RECAP

Hello, OMITB! We are now 2 weeks and 4 games into the season, and it feels very early or very late, depending on how you've done so far. Here's what happened in Week 2:

  • It was a pyrrhic week for #1 Pacheco's Playmakers (4-0, B1). They win two to be the last unbeaten team standing, beating DaNoNames and Carolina Diesel (in a thriller), but losing their eponymous 3rd round draft pick to a broken leg.
  • #2 Show Me Your TD's (3-1, G1) split their week with a win over One Trick Pony and a loss to Lloyd Christmas.
  • #3 Keep Their Heads Ringin' (3-1, R1) beat Carolina Diesel handily, but lost to The Duke Boys, who were salty on the MNF battelfield.
  • #4 The Duke Boys (3-1, G2) blew up with the weekly high score to get within a game of the lead in Gold, outlasting Keep Their Heads Ringin' and rolling over Injured Reserve.
  • The #5 Ringwraiths (2-2, R2) were solid without their 1st round pick available, but split between a divisional loss to Lloyd Christmas and a win over Dawg Puck.
  • #6 One Trick Pony (2-2, G3) - once the schedule was correctly updated - lost two to drop to .500, a division game to Show Me Your TD's and another to DaNoNames.
  • #7 Lloyd Christmas (2-2, R3) roared back from a poor opener to sweep the Ringwraiths in division and Show Me Your TD's out of it.
  • Things could have gone worse for #8 DaNoNames (2-2, B2) without the overall #1 pick and showing a weak performance otherwise, but they split, beating One Trick Pony and losing to Pacheco's Playmakers.
  • #9 New Kid (2-2, B3) bounced back in Week 2 to sweep Dawg Puck and Injured Reserve, to stay in the early midfield.
  • #10 Carolina Diesel's (1-3, R4) streak of horrendous luck continued, scoring 124 points but losing a blowout to Keep Their Heads Ringin' and a 0.62-point squeaker to Pacheco's Playmakers.
  • #11 Injured Reserve's (0-4, G4) team hasn't showed up yet, and got swept by The Duke Boys and New Kid to start 0-4.
  • #12 Dawg Puck (0-4, B4) leaned hard into the name this week, losing 3 starters in one week to muster only 57 points, losing to New Kid and the Ringwraiths.

We are only halfway through the first stretch of doubleheaders, so there is still time to course correct and it is still too early to get cocky as the injuries pile up, but remember...

Commissioner Tue Sep 17 9:43am ET
OK, OMITB, the errant game has been found and corrected, without too much impact. Remember to please always let the commissioner(s) know if you see anything that looks odd with your schedule!
Commissioner Tue Sep 17 9:14am ET
Stand by, OMITB, as there was a glitch in the weekly schedule that some owners didn't report. Now you should know by now that week 2 is always a doubleheader, and it is a given that we don't schedule tripleheaders, so I would hope one of us would have noticed, but here we are. I will have to check the official schedule document to see who really should have played One Trick Pony in the second game, and make the correction before EOD, so be on the lookout for an update to the Week 2 scoreboard and standings.

NEVER TELL ME THE ODDS, OMITB WEEK 2

We like to say...

Now, for those who don't mind seeing, on the other hand, here's where FantasyPros puts each team's playoff and championship chances:

Pacheco's Playmakers 97% 31%
Show Me Your TD's 96% 31%
Ringwraiths 75% 9%
Keep Their Heads Ringin' 72% 5%
DaNoNames 52% 6%
Carolina Diesel 52% 6%
One Trick Pony 50% 3%
Lloyd Christmas 35% 4%
The Duke Boys 31% 2%
Injured Reserve 21% <1%
New Kid 16% <1%
Dawg Puck 1% <1%

There's 13 weeks to go before the end of the season, so there's still time. Good luck!

OMITB WEEK 1 RECAP

Hello, OMITB! A new season is now under way and Week 1 is officially in the books. For those of you who didn’t break your mobile devices in disgust…here’s our first recap of the year:

  • #1 Show Me Your TD’s (2-0, G1): When you get 27 from the Vikings D, you just might get the weekly high score. SMYTD’s torches The Duke Boys and DaNoNames to get the fast start out of the gate.
  • #2 Pacheco’s Playmakers (2-0, B1) rode an odd but satisfying rookie QB performance to sweep the second gen New Kid and the defending champion Ringwraiths.
  • #3 Keep Their Heads Ringin’ (2-0, R1) get off to a good start, victimizing underperformers Lloyd Christmas and Injured Reserve.
  • #4 One Trick Pony (2-0, G2) almost had the best start, and are only not the #2 team because of the division they’re in. OTP rode a strong running game and a surprising Broncos DST to a rout of Injured Reserve and Lloyd Christmas.
  • #5 DaNoNames (1-1, B2) put up decent numbers, but got a split, running into the ShowMe buzzsaw, and benefiting from a timely pickup of a key handcuff (whose free agent status was inexcusable) to beat the now-specific Dawg Puck.
  • #6 Ringwraiths (1-1, R2) managed to survive a single-digit QB performance to split between a win over Carolina Diesel and a loss to PP.
  • #7 Carolina Diesel (1-1, R3) very nearly got a sweep in spite of a lackluster offense, riding a 26-point K performance to a split, losing a close one to the ‘Wraiths and knocking off New Kid.
  • #8 The Duke Boys (1-1, G3) got only 17.3 from their top 3 picks, but hit triple digits, which was enough to split, beating Dawg Puck but losing to top team Show Me.
  • #9 Dawg Puck (0-2, B-3) got the bulk of their points from 3 players and lost a pair of MNF games, one to DaNoNames and a nailbiter to The Duke Boys.
  • #10 The New Kid (0-2, B4) got off to a rough start, leaving a 31-point WR on the bench (welcome to fantasy football!) and losing to PP (I’m warming to this shorthand) and Carolina Diesel.
  • #11 Lloyd Christmas (0-2, R4) rode their top-ranked, third-round QB and not much else, suffering losses to Keep Their Heads Ringin’ and One Trick Pony.
  • #12 The aptly named Injured Reserve (0-2, G4) took one week to put their 2nd round pick on the IR, and with only a couple of players delivering value, lost to Keep Their Heads Ringin’ and One Trick Pony.

Week 1 was a doubleheader, so the bad news is twice as bad. But the good news is, there is still time to right the ship, so good luck, and remember:
