2024 RTSports Outlook

Mostert was the lead back most of the year for the Dolphins and did pretty well in that role. He topped 1,000 total yards for the first time in his career and was 25th overall in fantasy running back scoring. He had double-digit fantasy points seven times. Mostert is known for his speed, but was actually ninth overall in broken tackles (16) last year. He can make plays after contact as well. Mostert will look to serve as a starter once again this year but that might not happen at age 31. He is a lot older than you think, having been around the league a while. Mostert doesn't have great size for the position and lacks a little thump at times, but has elite speed and moves in space. He gets to the next level in a hurry and is a big-play threat with the ball in his hands. He also catches the ball pretty well, having a career-high 31 receptions last year. Mostert is an injury risk, missing a lot of games throughout his career.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Mostert might have a hard time repeating last year, likely getting fewer touches. He is more of a No. 3 or 4 back for fantasy teams. He can get around 800 total yards, 20 receptions and five touchdowns.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert played 16 games in 2022 for just the second time in his career. That helped produce a career year for the veteran running back. Mostert set career-highs in rushing attempts (181), rushing yards (891), receptions (31), receiving yards (202), and PPR fantasy points (168.3). He finished as the RB25 in PPR formats, averaging 10.5 fantasy points per game. But at 31 years old, Mostert carries a significant injury risk in 2023. He has missed 37 games since 2017 with many different injuries, and the Dolphins also added to their backfield room this offseason. Jeff Wilson Jr. re-signed with the team, and Devon Achane was drafted in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. However, with Wilson placed on the injured reserve, Mostert will have a bigger role to open the season. Wilson will miss at least the first four games of 2023, and Mostert is the favorite to see most of the backfield work. Mostert and Achane are now the top two backs in the Dolphins' offense, and the veteran will be an RB2/flex play to begin the season. Mostert's ADP will rise in the coming days, and he should be drafted somewhere in the early double-digit rounds.

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert recorded 15 rushing touchdowns in the red zone this season, which was tied for the most in the NFL this past season.

From TheHuddle

Jan 15 12:20pm ET

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) and safety Jevon Holland (knee) aren't going to need surgery in the offseason. For Mostert, he missed the team's final two regular season games before returning in Saturday night's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the wild-card round. In his return in the frigid conditions in KC, Mostert had only eight rushing attempts for 33 yards and caught one pass for a loss of three yards. The 31-year-old had easily his best year in 2023 with Miami, picking up his first 1,000-yard rushing season while also scoring a league-high 21 touchdowns (18 rushing, three receiving). Mostert will be back with Miami in 2024, but he'll not only face regression in all categories, but he'll most likely also see fewer backfield touches with the emerging Achane earning a bigger role.

From RotoBaller

Jan 15 11:53am ET

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (knee, ankle) won't need any offseason surgeries.

Fantasy Spin: Mostert was a dynamite budget option at the position in fantasy, but he figures to take a step back in 2024 with the ascension of De'Von Achane. Mostert will be a low-end RB2 target with significant risk at 32 with a checkered injury history.

From TheHuddle

Jan 15 11:50am ET

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert ran out of magic in the wild-card loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday night. In one of the coldest games in NFL history, Mostert collected 33 yards on eight carries and caught one of two targets for negative three yards. The 31-year-old posted the best season of his career after posting his first-ever 1,000 yard rushing campaign and 18 touchdowns on the ground which was the most out of anyone this year. He also was tied with Christian McCaffrey for the most rushing and receiving touchdowns combined with 21. While he had an amazing year, he started to slow down toward the end of the season and it will be difficult to replicate these results next year. On top of that, De'Von Achane will likely get a bigger chunk of opportunities, so he may not be worth a high draft pick in fantasy drafts next year at the age of 32.

From RotoBaller

Jan 13 11:43pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert rushed eight times for 33 yards and lost three yards on his only reception in a 26-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs during Wild Card weekend.

From TheHuddle

Jan 13 7:03pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) is active for the wild-card playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, Jan. 13.

Fantasy Spin: Mostert will be splitting time with rookie De'Von Achane and is a flex option in playoff leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 13 7:00pm ET

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) is available ahead of Saturday's playoff matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Mostert is back after missing the final two games of the regular season due to nagging injuries. The veteran back was limited in practice to start the week, but will be fine for this game. The 31-year-old led the league in touchdowns with 23, which is impressive given how many offensive weapons the Dolphins have on their roster. That being said, Mostert will be touchdown-dependent DFS option for this tough matchup against the Chiefs defense. Mostert will be forced to share the backfield with De'Von Achane, which won't do any favors to his fantasy value.

From RotoBaller

Jan 11 5:03pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Jan. 11, and is listed as questionable for the Wild Card playoff game.

Fantasy Spin: Mostert seems to have a good chance to play in the playoff game, but fantasy players will need to check the inactive list for his official status. He will share playing time with De'Von Achane if he plays and can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 11 12:10pm ET

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said that running back Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) will be listed as questionable for Saturday's wild-card playoff game versus the Kansas City Chiefs. Mostert was held out of the final two regular season games, but the good news is he was limited in practice on Tuesday and Wednesday and there is optimism that he'll play this weekend in Kansas City. The 31-year-old led all offensive skill players in 2023 with 21 total touchdowns (18 rushing, three receiving), but he's limping into the postseason and is a candidate to cede valuable backfield touches to explosive rookie De'Von Achane if he gets the green light to play on Saturday. If Mostert is active, he'll be a boom/bust, touchdown-dependent DFS option in a tough matchup on the road in expected freezing temperatures.

From RotoBaller

Jan 10 6:43pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Jan. 10. The Dolphins did not hold a practice Wednesday, so this is an estimation.

Fantasy Spin: Mostert missed the last few games because of the injuries but seems to have a chance to play this week. He will share playing time with De'Von Achane if he plays and can be a flex option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 9 7:10pm ET

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) was listed as limited on the team's estimated practice report on Tuesday. The Dolphins didn't officially hold a practice, but it's good news that Mostert would have at least been limited after missing the final two games of the regular season due to multiple injuries. The 31-year-old led the NFL with 21 total touchdowns and finished as the RB2 in half-PPR scoring behind only Christian McCaffrey while having a nose for the end zone in the second-highest scoring offense in the NFL in 2023. The Dolphins are optimistic he'll return for Saturday's wild-card playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs, but even if he's active, his fantasy value is trending down entering the postseason considering he hasn't played since Week 16. He's also the fourth-most expensive RB on DraftKings, behind rookie teammate De'Von Achane.

From RotoBaller

Jan 9 6:53pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (knee, ankle) was a limited participant at practice Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Fantasy Spin: Mostert has been inactive for the last two games but put together his best season so he's a starting option in playoff leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 8 6:10pm ET

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel reiterated on Monday that he's optimistic about the status of running back Raheem Mostert's (ankle, knee) in the wild-card contest this Saturday against the Kansas City Chiefs. The 31-year-old led the league with 21 total touchdowns during the regular season but has missed the last two games due to both ankle and knee ailments. With Mostert out the last two weeks, rookie De'Von Achane has handled most of the backfield snaps and touches alongside Jeff Wilson Jr. Mostert was a touchdown machine and a every-week starter in fantasy lineups during the regular season, but he'll have bust potential in the first week of the playoffs if he's active on Saturday. He'll be touchdown-dependent and could lose valuable snaps to Achane, who looked close to his pre-injury self in Week 18.

From RotoBaller

Jan 7 7:10pm ET

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert (knee, ankle) won't play in Sunday's AFC East title game versus the Buffalo Bills. The 31-year-old logged a limited practice session on Friday after sitting out on Wednesday and Thursday. However, despite a questionable designation, he'll miss his second consecutive contest. Mostert has been a top fantasy producer all year. But without him, De'Von Achane will nearly monopolize the backfield work in Week 18. Achane looked great in the Week 17 blowout loss to the Ravens, accruing 107 yards off 14 carries and adding four catches for 30 yards and a touchdown. Keep the rookie starting in all fantasy lineups.

From RotoBaller

Jan 7 6:53pm ET

The Miami Dolphins have declared RB Raheem Mostert, DB Ethan Bonner, OT Kion Smith, QB Skylar Thompson, WR Jaylen Waddle, TE Tyler Kroft and CB Xavien Howard inactive for Week 18.

From TheHuddle

Jan 7 9:13am ET

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (knee, ankle) is not expected to play in Week 18's game versus the Buffalo Bills, according to a source. However, he should be ready for the postseason.

Fantasy Spin: Mostert had been listed as questionable on the injury report after logging just one limited practice session during the week. RB De'Von Achane is expected to receive the bulk of the carries against the Bills Sunday night and can be a starting option in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 7 1:50am ET

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert (knee, ankle) is unlikely to play in Sunday's AFC East meeting with the Bills. The 31-year-old didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday before logging a limited session on Friday, so it appeared there was a chance he'd be back. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case, although the question remains if his absence will extend into the postseason. That said, De'Von Achane will operate as the No. 1 option out of the backfield in Week 18. The rookie played well in the blowout loss to the Ravens in Week 17, amassing 107 yards off 14 carries. He added four catches for 30 yards and a touchdown. While Miami is already in the playoffs, the team is looking to win the division, meaning Mostert should be on the field for 60 minutes, assuming the game stays competitive. Nonetheless, despite a tough matchup versus the Bills defense, Achane has a spot in all fantasy lineups, including those participating in DFS contests.

From RotoBaller

Jan 5 6:40pm ET

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) is listed as questionable for the Week 18 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. The veteran back missed the first two days of practice before returning on Friday. The Dolphins have already secured a playoff spot, but need this win in order to take the AFC East title. That means, Miami will want to play their starters, so Mostert should be out there. He'll be a shaky RB2 with De'Von Achane in the mix as well. Fantasy managers will have to check back closer to game time for another update.

From RotoBaller

Jan 5 5:13pm ET

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 5, and is listed as questionable for Week 18.

Fantasy Spin: Mostert appears to be a game-time decision, so fantasy players will need to check the inactive list for his official status. He is a risky option since the Dolphins play on Sunday Night Football but can be a starting option in fantasy leagues if active.

From TheHuddle

Jan 5 12:33pm ET

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (knee, ankle) will practice on a limited basis on Friday, Jan. 5, according to head coach Mike McDaniel, who added that he 'would not close the door' on Mostert playing against the Buffalo Bills in Week 18.

Fantasy Spin: McDaniel also discussed the need to do right by the player and the team by making sure Mostert has recovered to the point where he is ready for the playoffs. Miami will clinch the AFC East title and a No. 2 seed with a win but already have a spot in the postseason wrapped up, so they can afford to be a bit careful with their starting running back. Expect De'Von Achane to carry more of the load than usual for a second straight week regardless of whether Mostert plays.
