2021 RTSports Outlook

It took most of the season but Higbee emerged as the starter for the Rams late in the year and excelled in that role. He had 43 receptions for 522 yards and two touchdowns in the month of December. He had 26 catches for 212 yards and one score over the first three months combined. Higbee had 100-yard games four of his last five and had at least 84 yards all of those games. He will be the No. 1 tight end for the Rams from day one this year. Higbee is a good route runner with plus hands. He does well on shorter routes, moving the chains. He is an improving blocker that can be an asset in the running game.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Higbee was a huge fantasy factor down the stretch last year and carried many teams to fantasy championships. We aren't sure if he can repeat that over an entire season but he can be a top-10 fantasy tight end in this offense. He could get around 70 receptions for 700 yards and five touchdowns.

Los Angeles Rams QB John Wolford started for the injured QB Jared Goff (thumb) in a must-win game in Week 17 against the Arizona Cardinals, and he helped his team to an 18-7 win and playoff berth. He also led the team with 56 rushing yards, while RB Cam Akers was mostly bottled up with 21 carries and just 34 yards while adding four grabs for 52 yards. WR Van Jefferson went for four grabs and 50 yards on eight targets, while TE Tyler Higbee chipped in with three grabs and 41 yards on four targets. WR Robert Woods ended with four receptions and 36 yards, WR Josh Reynolds had four catches and 29 yards and TE Gerald Everett wrapped up the season with two catches and 25 yards on seven targets.

Dec 25 8:03pm ET

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (non-injury) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 25, but is not on the injury report for Week 16.

Fantasy Spin: Higbee has caught two touchdowns in the last three games but has also been held to under 40 yards in four of the last five games. He could be a possible low-end No. 1 tight end in deeper leagues but is not a must-start option.

From TheHuddle

Dec 20 11:03pm ET

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee caught four of his five targets for 67 yards and a touchdown in a 23-20 loss to the New York Jets in Week 15.

Fantasy Spin: After a breaking out in the second half of 2019, Higbee has been unable to provide consistent production this season, and his 67 yards against the Jets were his most in a game this year. He will be a touchdown-dependent option against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 16.

From TheHuddle

Dec 7 12:40pm ET

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee has been a disappointment for fantasy managers after the heavy investment that many used to acquire him in drafts before the season, but he put up a decent performance in Week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals. He caught four of his six targets for 24 yards and a touchdown. As we've seen from him all year, in order for him to have fantasy value, he has to score a touchdown. That rang true in Week 13, and he has a chance to finish as a top-10 tight end on the week thanks to that score. Moving forward, he's still largely a dart throw because of his limited ability after the catch, but he always has touchdown upside if you're desperate.

Nov 29 3:13pm ET

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (elbow) is officially active for the Week 12 game.

Fantasy Spin: Higbee has been held to under 20 yards in two of the last three games. He will see a handful of targets this week and could be a low-end No. 1 tight in some deeper leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 27 7:53pm ET

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (elbow) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 27, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

Fantasy Spin: Higbee missed all three practices this week and could be limited if he is active for the Week 12 game. Fantasy players may want to consider other options for their lineups and keep Higbee on the bench.

From TheHuddle

Nov 27 7:00pm ET

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said that tight end Tyler Higbee (elbow) will be a game-time decision for Week 12 against the division-rival 49ers. Already coming into this game as a low-end and unreliable TE2, Higbee should be avoided by fantasy managers this weekend. He scored three times on five catches in Week 2 but hasn't scored since and has over three receptions since then just one time. Gerald Everett hasn't done much to talk about either, but he'd become a more attractive TE2 sleeper in DFS and deeper leagues if Higbee were inactive Sunday. The 49ers Defense has also excelled against the tight end position this year, allowing the second-fewest fantasy points per game to the position and only two touchdowns all season.

Nov 27 6:53pm ET

Los Angeles Rams LB Terrell Lewis (knee) did not practice for a second straight day Friday, Nov. 27, and is listed as doubtful for Week 12 versus the San Francisco 49ers. TE Tyler Higbee (elbow) did not practice all week but is listed as questionable. OL Brian Allen (knee) was limited in practice all week and is also listed as questionable. DL Michael Brockers (non-injury) did not practice Friday but is expected to play. DL Aaron Donald (non-injury) practiced in full for a second straight day Friday and no longer appears on the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Nov 26 8:03pm ET

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (elbow) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Spin: Higbee's status for Week 12 is uncertain, so fantasy players will need to continue to monitor the situation. He has been inconsistent over the last month and probably can be avoided in most leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 26 6:23pm ET

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (elbow) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 26. LB Terrell Lewis (knee) was added to the injury report Thursday and also did not practice. OL Brian Allen (knee) was limited. DL Aaron Donald (non-injury) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Nov 26 4:53pm ET

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (elbow) is expected to be a game-time decision in Week 12 versus the San Francisco 49ers, according to head coach Sean McVay.

From TheHuddle

Nov 25 9:33pm ET

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (elbow) banged up his elbow during the Week 11 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which is why he did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 25. Head coach Sean McVay said the tight end is considered 'day-to-day'.

Fantasy Spin: Higbee entered the season with high expectations from a fantasy perspective, but he has really only one impressive game while mostly being equaled or outplayed by Gerald Everett. At this point Higbee is only worth retaining in the deepest of fantasy leagues heading into Week 12 and beyond.

From TheHuddle

Nov 25 8:43pm ET

Los Angeles Rams DL Aaron Donald (non-injury), LB Micah Kiser (knee) and TE Tyler Higbee (elbow) didn't practice Wednesday, Nov. 25. OL Brian Allen (knee) was limited.

From TheHuddle

Nov 24 12:23am ET

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee was limited to just 19 yards on four receptions in Week 11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy Spin: Higbee was actually outperformed by Gerald Everett, who had four grabs for 27 yards, although neither was terribly great from a fantasy perspective. Higbee entered with a ton of preseason hype, but he has been mostly disappointing and is nothing more than a low-end TE2 at this point. The Rams host the 49ers in Week 12.

From TheHuddle

Nov 16 11:10am ET

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee has been reliant on touchdowns this season for his fantasy value, but that wasn't the case in Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks. He caught three of six targets for 60 yards. It was good to see some signs of life out of him after several weeks of next-to-no production. He doesn't have the athleticism that some of the top tight ends do that allow them to take advantage of matchups, and his schedule is going to be more difficult over the next few weeks. As a result, tight end streaming will likely be in the cards for you if you roster Higbee.

From RotoBaller

Nov 16 3:03am ET

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee had three receptions for 60 yards against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Nov. 15.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy owners that spent a draft pick on Higbee don't need a reminder of how disappointing he's been this season, but here's one anyway: his 60 yards on Sunday set a new season high for 2020. Perhaps it's the first step on the road to redemption. More likely, however, is it's a blip in what will continue to be an underwhelming season for Higbee.
