2024 RTSports Outlook

Evans saw a bit of a dip in production last year, but had his usual solid season, finishing 17th overall in fantasy receiver scoring. He topped 1,100-receiving yards, his highest total since 2019. His touchdowns were down, though, scoring just six. Evans was consistent for fantasy teams with a couple really big games sprinkled in, including two with 30-plus fantasy points. He is 30 years sold, but shown few signs of slowing down. He has topped 1,000-receiving yards every season in the NFL. The big concern is Evans will be without Tom Brady this year, a guy that really helped his production in recent seasons. His targets could go down. Evans is a huge target with an enormous wing span. He does a fabulous job of catching the back-shoulder fade. His size and strength makes him a very tough cover in the passing game. He does lack that elite speed, but it hasn't hampered his play since entering the league. Fantasy Outlook:   Evans might not be that surefire No. 1 with Brady gone but just outside that group. He'll get his scores and should be consistent, getting plenty of weekly targets. He can get around 70 receptions for 1,000 or so yards and eight touchdowns.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans had his contract restructured on Thursday, March 14, which converted his 2024 roster bonus into a signing bonus, freeing up $17.4 million in cap space.

From TheHuddle

Mar 4 2:10pm ET

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Mike Evans agreed to a two-year, $52 million deal on Monday that includes $35 million guaranteed, according to his agent Deryk Gilmore. Evans now has a real chance to start and finish his career in Tampa. Evans hasn't really slowed down at all entering his age-31 season this fall, as he has yet to finish any one of his 10 seasons in the NFL with the Bucs under 1,000 yards receiving. He made his fifth Pro Bowl in 2023 and finished with 79 receptions (136 targets) for 1255 yards and a league-leading 13 touchdowns in 17 regular-season games to help quarterback Baker Mayfield to the best season of his career. While Evans is likely to regress in the TD department in 2024, there's no reason to believe he'll finish under 1,000 receiving yards as long as he stays healthy, especially if Tampa also re-signs Mayfield.

Mar 4 9:33am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent WR Mike Evans agreed to a two-year, $52 million contract Monday, March 4. The deal includes $35 million guaranteed.

Fantasy Spin: Evans had a renaissance and was the WR7 in PPR leagues last year with 13 touchdowns. He turns 31 in August and will be risky as anything more than a good WR2 with some regression expected.

From TheHuddle

Mar 2 5:33pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent WR Mike Evans is not expected to be a target for the Houston Texans if he hits the free-agent market, according to sources.

Fantasy Spin: The Texans have Nico Collins and Tank Dell as their main receivers and probably will not look to make a big splash at the position. Evans should receive interest from multiple teams if he tests the market and should be a weekly starting option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Mar 2 2:40pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent wide receiver Mike Evans' agent, Deryk Gilmore, said that "Mike wants to play with an elite quarterback in an offense that will showcase him -- and be paid like a top wide receiver. He doesn't want to play with a rookie QB. Winning a Super Bowl is a key priority." Evans is expected to draw interest from several teams in free agency, including the Bucs. The 30-year-old and the Bucs are far apart in contract talks, and Evans announced on Friday that he plans to test the free-agent market, which doesn't bode well for him re-signing with the Buccaneers. The five-time Pro Bowler has reached the 1,000-yard mark in all 10 seasons in Tampa and is one of the most consistent pass-catchers in the game, even at 30 years old. QB Baker Mayfield had a career year in 2023, but he is by no means considered an elite signal-caller, and is a free agent himself.

From RotoBaller

Mar 1 9:00pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has reportedly been in discussions with the organization on a possible long-term deal. Despite that, it sounds like Evans wants to see what he is worth on the open market. Evans could always return to Tampa Bay, but he wants to test free agency and see what teams are interested in his services. Last season, Evans finished with 79 receptions for 1,255 yards and 13 touchdowns. He has surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in his first 10 seasons in the league. The 31-year-old still has plenty left in the tank and should land himself a massive deal this offseason.

From RotoBaller

Mar 1 7:33pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent WR Mike Evans is still talking with the Buccaneers about a new contract but plans to test the free-agent market before he signs a contract, according to sources.

Fantasy Spin: Evans likely will receive interest from multiple teams if he hits the free-agent market, so fantasy players will need to monitor the situation. He will be a starter no matter where he signs this offseason and will be a weekly option in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Feb 27 4:03pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans is due to become an unrestricted free agent at the start of the new league year next month, but general manager Jason Licht made it clear on Tuesday, Feb. 27, that the team is 'going to do whatever we can to make sure he's a Buc.'

Fantasy Spin: With the league recently announcing the salary cap will take a $30 million hike in 2024, it certainly should increase Tampa Bay's chances of retaining the only receiver ever to begin his career with 10 straight 1,000-yard seasons. However, the change at offensive coordinator from Dave Canales to Liam Coen may result in a slight hit to his fantasy stock next season - assuming he is re-signed.

From TheHuddle

Feb 27 3:00pm ET

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are actively working to re-sign five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Mike Evans, who is scheduled for free agency in a little over two weeks. "He's an unprecedented player. We want him to be a Buc for life. We're working towards that," general manager Jason Licht said. "Obviously it takes two sides. I know he wants to be a Buc. We'll probably have to strain a little bit but we're working towards that right now." The two sides worked unsuccessfully to work out a deal before the start of last season, but he still put together one of the best seasons of his career in 2023 with 13 TDs, which tied for the league lead. The 30-year-old pass-catcher has reached 1,000 receiving yards for the 10th straight season -- an NFL record for the start of a career and one shy of tying Hall of Famer Jerry Rice's overall record. Evans has shown no signs of slowing down.

From RotoBaller

Feb 19 11:53am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans and the team remain far apart in contract negotiations Monday, Feb. 19, where there's a soft deadline to get a deal done. The Buccaneers will incur $7.4 million in dead money if a deal isn't struck Monday, and Evans is leaning toward free agency.

Fantasy Spin: Evans was the WR7 in PPR leagues at age 30. He'll be a good WR2 target with some regression expected in 2024.

From TheHuddle

Feb 18 7:00pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans appears to be headed towards free agency this offseason. The original expectation was that the Bucs would place the franchise tag on Evans to prevent him from going into free agency. Due to his 2023 cap number, Evans is projected to make $28.4 million instead of $21.6 million, assuming the Bucs place the franchise tag on him. That said, it seems increasingly unlikely that the Bucs will place the tag on Evans this offseason. Possibly, the two sides will agree on an extension this offseason. Otherwise, we could see the veteran wideout in a different uniform next season.

From RotoBaller

Feb 18 5:33pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent WR Mike Evans is not expected to receive the franchise tag this offseason since it would be $28.4 million based on his 2023 salary, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Spin: The Buccaneers have around a month to sign Evans to a new contract, so fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation. Evans will be a starter no matter where he plays in 2024 and likely will be a weekly starting option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Feb 17 12:03pm ET

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could save $7.387 million against the 2024 salary cap and pushed out into future years if they can get a contract extension with WR Mike Evans finalized before Monday, Feb. 20. Evans is a pending free agent but there is mutual interest in keeping him in Tampa Bay.

From TheHuddle

Feb 14 9:33pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans' 11 receptions on passes thrown 20 or more yards down the field were tied for the 10th most in the league in 2023.

From TheHuddle

Feb 7 1:40pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers new offensive coordinator Liam Coen said that he's hopeful the team will be able to re-sign impending free-agent wide receiver Mike Evans. Evans is still one of the best receivers in the game, so it's no wonder Coen would like to work with him in his first year coordinating Tampa's offense. Quarterback Baker Mayfield, who had a career year for the Bucs in 2023, is also a free agent that the team is hoping to bring back. Whether or not Evans returns will have a big impact on the team's offensive direction in 2024 and beyond. The 30-year-old five-time Pro Bowler has hit the 1,000-yard mark in all 10 of his NFL seasons and will be looking to make it 11 straight in 2024 for whichever team he's playing for.

From RotoBaller

Feb 2 10:03pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent WR Mike Evans is expected to land a contract that pays between $25 to $30 million a year, according to reports.

Fantasy Spin: Evans has been the model of consistency throughout his career, topping 1,000 yards in each of his 10 seasons. He has 94 touchdowns in that span, scoring 13 or more times in three of the last four years. Wherever he plays in 2024, Evans should be the No. 1 option and a WR1 candidate for fantasy owners.

From TheHuddle

Jan 23 3:00pm ET

Buccaneers' WR Mike Evans scored 28.70 fantasy points in Sunday's playoff loss in Detroit. Evans caught eight passes for 147 yards with one touchdown. Evans scored at least 25 fantasy points six times during the regular season.

Jan 22 2:50pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has enjoyed a phenomenal career with the organization so far, compiling 762 receptions for 11,680 yards and 94 touchdowns in ten seasons. He has never produced fewer than 1,000 yards during his decade in Tampa, and he wants to remain with the franchise that selected him in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. "I've been on record saying how much I love this place and how much I want to be here," Evans said on Sunday. "Not a lot of guys finish with one team so that will be amazing if I get to do that but, you know, we'll see. I'm still trying to get over this loss." Evans' season finished with a 31-23 loss to the Detroit Lions in the NFC Divisional Round. He caught eight passes for 147 yards and a touchdown in that game. Needless to say, he's still a great wide receiver, but it remains to be seen if the Buccaneers will offer him a deal that he will agree to. He can enter free agency this offseason. Whether he's in Tampa Bay or somewhere else next year, he'll remain firmly on the fantasy football radar for his 11th NFL campaign.

From RotoBaller

Jan 21 9:30pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans went out with a bang during Sunday's Divisional Round game against the Detroit Lions. The veteran wideout hauled in eight of his 12 targets for 147 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Evans did everything he could, including a fourth quarter touchdown grab to keep the Bucs alive. He'll wrap up his 2023 campaign with 79 receptions, 1,255 receiving yards, and 13 touchdowns. Evans has been one of the most consistent wideouts in the NFL for years. He's set to be a free agent this offseason and should have plenty of suitors, assuming the Bucs don't franchise tag him.

Dynasty | Tampa Bay wide receiver Mike Evans had eight catches for 147 yards and a touchdown in the Bucs playoff loss against Detroit. Dynasty Analysis: It was just another day at the office for Evans, who is one of the most unheralded wide receivers in the history of fantasy football. Routinely passed up for younger players in start-up drafts, Evans completed yet another 1,000 yard season this year and remains one of the most consistent players in the history of the game. While the bottom could fall out in any given season, Evans remains a high-floor target for contending dynasty teams everywhere and today was yet another reminder that he hasn't lost a step quite yet.
