New York Giants RB Devonta Freeman (ankle) did not practice Friday, Nov. 13, and has been ruled out for Week 10 against the Philadelphia Eagles. WR Golden Tate (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable. CB Isaac Yiadom (calf) was added to the injury report and limited in practice Friday; he is also listed as questionable. WR Sterling Shepard (toe, hip) was limited in practice all week but has been removed from the injury report. DB Logan Ryan (non-injury), DL Leonard Williams (non-injury) and TE Kaden Smith (concussion) practiced in full Friday and also no longer appear on the injury report.

New York Giants RB Devonta Freeman (ankle, hamstring) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Friday, Nov. 13.

Fantasy Spin: It means Freeman cannot play again until Week 14 at the earliest. Wayne Gallman will continue to fill in and should be considered a decent flex option during his absence. Freeman can probably be dropped in most traditional leagues as he was mostly a weak flex option himself when healthy. The Giants also have a rough fantasy playoff schedule for running backs, facing the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens.

New York Giants RB Devonta Freeman (ankle, hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 10 versus the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fantasy Spin: With the team's bye coming in Week 11, it made little sense for the two-win Giants to push Freeman after he aggravated his ankle injury in practice Thursday. He apparently suffered a hamstring injury at some point during practice this week as well. Wayne Gallman has performed reasonably well since Freeman went down early in Week 7, scoring one touchdown in every game. Gallman should be considered a low-end RB2 or decent flex this weekend.

Nov 13 2:40pm ET

The New York Giants are placing running back Devonta Freeman (ankle) on Injured Reserve on Friday, according to a source. Freeman will have a chance to return after three weeks. The 28-year-old former Falcon will miss his third straight game in Week 10 against the Eagles and more as he deals with a nagging foot injury. There's a good chance that Freeman won't be able to help fantasy managers again this season, so he's droppable in shallower formats. In his place, Wayne Gallman should continue to serve as the club's primary ball-carrier, with veteran Alfred Morris and Dion Lewis chipping in as well. On a bad team in a bad matchup this Sunday, though, Gallman should be considered a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex.

Nov 13 12:30pm ET

New York Giants running back Devonta Freeman (ankle) was not seen practicing during individual drills at Friday's practice. Freeman was expected to return this week for a divisional showdown with Philadelphia but reaggravated his ankle injury early in Thursday's practice. Not practicing again Friday is a bad omen for his chances of suiting up this Sunday, and at this point, fantasy managers can't trust him even if the veteran RB is active. Wayne Gallman would continue to have flex-value in 12-team fantasy leagues as the lead back in New York, though Alfred Morris and Dion Lewis will be involved as well.

Nov 12 4:33pm ET

New York Giants RB Devonta Freeman (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 12.

Fantasy Spin: Freeman reportedly suffered a setback during practice, so he may be a game-time decision this week. Fantasy players can monitor the situation because Freeman has a chance to be a flex option if he is active for the game.

From TheHuddle

Nov 12 4:13pm ET

New York Giants RB Devonta Freeman (ankle) reportedly aggravated his ankle injury in practice Thursday, Nov. 12, but it is described as 'minor' and the hope is he will still be able to play in Week 10.

Fantasy Spin: Freeman went down early in Week 7 and has missed the last two games due to the injury. Prior to getting hurt, the 28-year-old was handling nearly 20 touches per game for the Giants. If Freeman plays this weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles, he can be fired up as a flex option. If he can't, Wayne Gallman will likely draw another start and should be considered a decent flex as well.

From TheHuddle

Nov 12 4:10pm ET

New York Giants running back Devonta Freeman (ankle) suffered what was described as a minor aggravation of his ankle injury in practice on Thursday, according to a source. However, he's still hoping to play in Week 10 against the Eagles. Freeman has already missed the last two games because of the ankle injury, and he's now highly questionable to play this Sunday against Philly. His practice status on Friday will tell us a lot more. If the 28-year-old misses his third straight contest, Wayne Gallman should once again see a larger workload in the backfield while splitting touches with Dion Lewis and Alfred Morris. The matchup against the division-rival Eagles isn't a great one for the running game, but Gallman would have RB3/flex appeal as the lead back if Freeman is inactive.

Nov 12 3:33pm ET

New York Giants RB Devonta Freeman (ankle), WR Sterling Shepard (toe, hip) and WR Golden Tate (knee) were limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 12. DB Logan Ryan (non-injury), DL Leonard Williams (non-injury) and TE Kaden Smith (concussion) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Nov 12 1:53pm ET

New York Giants RB Devonta Freeman (ankle) left the field with a trainer Thursday, Nov. 12, as the rest of the team was participating in individual drills.

Fantasy Spin: Freeman was a limited practice participant Wednesday, but it sounds like Thursday brought another step back. If Freeman can't reverse course Friday, look for him to miss a third straight game with Wayne Gallman once again shouldering most of the load.

From TheHuddle

Nov 11 2:23pm ET

New York Giants RB Devonta Freeman (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will know more about Freeman's status in the next few days. He probably will see most of the work at running back if he is available to play but probably would only be a flex option in deeper leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 8 11:33am ET

The New York Giants have declared DT R.J. McIntosh, RB Devonta Freeman, OG Kenny Wiggins, TE Eric Tomlinson, WR Golden Tate, CB Brandon Z. Williams and OT Jackson Barton inactive for Week 9.

From TheHuddle

Nov 6 3:10pm ET

New York Giants running back Devonta Freeman (ankle) will not play in Week 9 against the Washington Football Team. It will be the second straight game that Freeman will miss. Wayne Gallman should continue to serve as the G-Men's primary running back, with Dion Lewis being sprinkled in here and there. But Gallman should be merely considered a low-upside RB3/flex in deeper leagues against a Washington defense that has been surprisingly stout against the run, allowing just 638 rushing yards and four touchdowns to opposing runners through eight weeks. Gallman played on just 32 offensive snaps in the Week 8 loss to the Buccaneers, and veteran Alfred Morris was also mixed in.

From RotoBaller

Nov 6 3:03pm ET

New York Giants CB Ryan Lewis (hamstring) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 9 against the Washington Football Team. RB Devonta Freeman (ankle) was limited in practice for a second straight day Friday, Nov. 6, but has also been ruled out. LB Devante Downs (shoulder), LB Blake Martinez (hamstring), DB Logan Ryan (hip) and WR Sterling Shepard (shoulder, toe) were limited in practice all week but have been removed from the injury report. WR Golden Tate (non-injury) practiced in full for a second straight day Friday and also no longer appears on the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Nov 6 2:13pm ET

New York Giants RB Devonta Freeman (ankle) was limited in practice Friday, Nov. 6, but was ruled out for the team's Week 9 game Sunday against the Washington Football Team.

Fantasy Spin: Freeman stirred some hope by getting in limited work Thursday and Friday, but will miss his second consecutive game. That leaves Wayne Gallman as the team's presumed lead back for another week.

From TheHuddle

Nov 5 8:00pm ET

New York Giants running back Devonta Freeman (ankle) got back into the swing of practice Thursday with limited participation, a positive sign for his potential of playing Sunday against Washington. Freeman's absence last week paved the way for Wayne Gallman to take over primary duties out of the backfield, a role that he would reprise in the case of Freeman continuing to log practice time over the coming days. Washington's defense has been stingy against the run this year, making Freeman a risky RB2 option in season-long formats in the case that he does get the green light to suit up. Check back throughout the week to get updates on the status of Freeman's ankle injury.

From RotoBaller

Nov 5 5:23pm ET

New York Giants RB Devonta Freeman (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 5.

Fantasy Spin: Freeman appears to have a chance to play this week, but fantasy players will know more about his status in the next day or two. He probably would see a majority of the snaps at running back if he plays but may only be a flex option in deeper standard leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 5 3:43pm ET

New York Giants CB Ryan Lewis (hamstring) did not participate in practice for a second straight day Thursday, Nov. 5. RB Devonta Freeman (ankle), LB Devante Downs (shoulder), LB Blake Martinez (hamstring), DB Logan Ryan (hip) and WR Sterling Shepard (shoulder, toe) were limited. WR Golden Tate (non-injury) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Nov 4 4:43pm ET

New York Giants RB Devonta Freeman (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 4.

Fantasy Spin: Freeman was not able to play last week and could miss another game if he does not return to practice this week. Wayne Gallman led the team in carries in Week 8 and probably will receive a similar role if Freeman remains sidelined. Gallman could be a flex option in deeper standard leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 2 6:53pm ET

The New York Giants have declared S Adrian Colbert, DT R.J. McIntosh, RB Devonta Freeman, CB Ryan Lewis, TE Eric Tomlinson, WR C.J. Board and OT Jackson Barton inactive for Week 8.
