Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson caught four passes for a team-high 62 yards in the Lions 42-21 loss to the Packers. For the second week in a row, Hockenson presented a stable presence in the middle of the field that quarterback Matthew Stafford can target consistently. The Lions offense presented a solid effort in the first half but fell behind the second half and couldn't catch up. Hockenson's arrow, however, is pointing up in fantasy heading into the team's Week 3 matchup against the Cardinals.

Sep 16 3:30pm ET

Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson will look to build off his solid Week 1 performance against the Bears heading into Week 2 against the Packers. Hockenson had five receptions for 56 yards with one touchdown against the Bears last week and appeared to have a solid rhythm going with quarterback Matthew Stafford. The second-year tight end will go up against a Packers Defense that allowed the 13th-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends in 2019, including six receiving touchdowns. Hockenson has plenty of talent and could become more than just a touchdown-dependent fantasy option in the weeks ahead.

Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson caught five passes for 56 yards and one touchdown in the Lions disappointing 27-23 loss to the Bears in Week 1. Hockenson enjoyed an active performance and appears to be gaining a solid rapport with quarterback Matthew Stafford. Hockenson secured all five of his targets for receptions, including a four-yard reception for his first touchdown of the season. Hockenson's fantasy arrow is pointing up heading into Week 2.

Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson will have an intriguing matchup Week 1 against the Bears that may give him some sleeper value in deeper leagues. Chicago last season tied for sixth most receptions allowed to opposing tight ends at a 72.3% completion clip. Hockenson burst on the scene in Week 1 of last year but completely disappeared from the offensive scheme the rest of the season. Now the second-year tight end will be looking to take the next step and hopefully will have a full season from veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford. Hockenson could be a streaming option in PPR-formats against the Bears in Week 1.

Sep 3 9:50pm ET

Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson will be looking to establish himself in the offense early and often in 2020. Hockenson burst on the scene in Week 1 of 2019 with six catches for 131 yards and one touchdown but then produced only 26 receptions for 236 yards and one score in the remaining 11 games he played in. The second-year tight end will be expected to elevate his game in 2020 and the return of quarterback Matthew Stafford should help those efforts. Hockenson currently finds himself 16th among tight ends via our fantasy rankings but could become a hot waiver wire commodity if he can produce right out of the gate.

Aug 27 9:40pm ET

Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockensons fantasy outlook in 2020 is intrinsically connected to that of quarterback Matthew Stafford. On the border of being selected in 10- or 12-team leagues as a TE1, Hockenson with a full season of Staffords power arm might put him over the top. By all accounts, Detroit will have their top signal caller under center to open the year, paving the way for Hockenson to build upon the 32 receptions and 367 receiving yards that he amassed as a rookie, mostly working with other QB's. Where theres sizable risk with Hockenson comes in the red zone; Detroit boasts 6-foot-4 Kenny Golladay, another favorite target of Staffords. Unlike in some other scenarios, the Lions have numerous wideout options that may vulture some of Hockensons targets; but having been the No. 8 overall pick just a year ago, few mid-round tight ends offer the upside that Hockenson does.

Aug 9 10:00am ET

Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson has been activated from the league's reserve/COVID-19 list. A good amount of Detroit's offense was put on the list, including quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Kenny Golladay, but all have been removed, so the Lions offense should be back to normal now. Unless we hear otherwise, we can assume Hockenson is healthy and that he should be drafted as a high-end TE2 with plenty of upside. He's a potential candidate for a big second-year breakout.

Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said that tight end T.J. Hockenson (ankle) has resumed running routes but isn't quite 100 percent healthy yet after suffering a season-ending ankle injury last November. However, Bevell said Hockenson is "well on his way to being there" and that the team is comfortable with his progress. Barring a setback, it sounds like Hockenson should be ready to go for the start of the regular season. The former eighth overall pick was great in Week 1 last year but then fell off in his rookie season before his injury. If he proves to be over his ankle injury in training camp and the preseason, his standing as a low-end TE1 in fantasy will continue to rise.
