2024 RTSports Outlook

Higbee had his best season to date, finishing sixth overall in fantasy tight end scoring. He got the most work of his career, finishing with more than 100 targets. He had 72 receptions for 620 yards and three touchdowns. HIgbee had seven games with double-digit fantasy points. An injury Cooper Kupp opened the door for Higbee to receive a lot more targets in the passing game for the Rams. Higbee will remain the starter for the Rams, but could see his workload decrease a little with a healthy Kupp back in the lineup. Higbee has 60-plus receptions three of four seasons in the Rams high-powered offense. Higbee is a good route runner with plus hands. He does well on shorter routes, moving the chains. His blocking has improved through the years, making him more of an asset in the running game.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Higbee might have a hard time being a top-10 fantasy tight end once again, but can finish right outside that group. He will get his catches and have a few big games. He can get around 60 receptions for 600 yards and five touchdowns.

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (knee) probably will start the 2024 season on the Physically Unable to Perform list because the team does not know when he will be able to return to the field, according to head coach Sean McVay.

Fantasy Spin: Higbee suffered the serious knee injury during the playoffs, but he is facing a long recovery period. Colby Parkinson probably will be the main tight end while Higbee is sidelined and should be at least a No. 2 tight end in fantasy leagues. Fantasy players can consider stashing Higbee on their bench if they have roster space since he is a No. 1 TE when healthy.

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) suffered a torn ACL in the team's Wild Card loss to the Detroit Lions on January 14, and he has undergone surgery to repair it. However, Rams general manager Les Snead said the veteran's timeline to return is "still unclear." The 31-year-old caught 47 passes for 495 yards and two touchdowns in his eighth NFL season (2023), marking his quietest statistical year since 2018. Given his major injury late in the year, he's likely to begin the 2024 campaign on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list, which would mean he'd have to miss at least the first four games of the season. Regardless of his health, he has limited fantasy upside while sharing a field with Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp for the foreseeable future. His peak fantasy value has likely come and gone.

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (knee) has undergone surgery to repair his torn anterior cruciate ligament, but there is no timetable for his return, according to general manager Les Snead.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation during the offseason to see when Higbee will be back on the field. He is a weekly starting option when healthy but may not be ready for the start of 2024 depending on his recovery.

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (knee) could start the 2024 season on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list because of the torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn medial collateral ligament he suffered during the season.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor Higbee's progress during the offseason to see when he will be able to play again. He is a weekly starting option when healthy, but players will need a replacement for the first half of the season if Higbee is sidelined.

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (knee) suffered a torn medial collateral ligament in addition to his torn anterior cruciate ligament during the Wild Card playoff game, according to head coach Sean McVay. McVay said there is on timetable for Higbee's return.

Fantasy Spin: Higbee probably will miss all of offseason workouts and could be a question mark for both training camp and the start of the regular season. Fantasy players should keep an eye on his status during the offseason because he is a No. 1 fantasy tight end when healthy.

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) tore both his ACL and MCL and will require surgery after taking a brutal low hit from Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph in Sunday night's wild-card playoff loss, according to head coach Sean McVay. There is no timeline for Higbee's return to on-field work, but McVay suspects that Higbee could be a candidate for the Physically Unable to Perform list in the summer during training camp. We'd be very surprised if Higbee is ready for the start of the 2024 regular season, which means that Davis Allen and Brycen Hopkins will most likely open the year splitting tight end reps for the Rams on game days. On top of his injury in the playoffs, Higbee had a disappointing regular season with 47 catches on 70 targets for 495 yards and only two touchdowns.

Dynasty | Rams tight end Tyler Higbee tore his ACL in the Rams loss to the Lions in the Wild Card round. Dynasty Analysis: This is a brutal blow for Higbee, who suffered the injury both late in the game and late in the season. He'll now face a lengthy rehab and an uphill battle to be ready for the start of the 2024 campaign. It was a disappointing season altogether for Higbee, who posted just a 47/495/2 line in Los Angeles, enough to be just the TE24 in 2023. At 31 years old, he's going to be a tough hold in dynasty leagues, despite some historically hot stretches in his career.

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) suffered a torn ACL on a brutal low hit by Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph in Sunday's wild-card loss, according to a source after results of Higbee's MRI came back. He'll now face a big challenge to be ready for the start of next season. "I don't have no intention to hurt no body and or harm their career," Joseph wrote on social media. The 31-year-old is now highly unlikely to be ready for the start of the 2024 regular season, and Davis Allen and Brycen Hopkins should be the top two candidates that could benefit from bigger pass-catching roles at the position in LA. In his eighth year with the Rams in 2023, Higbee caught 47 of 70 targets for 495 yards and only two touchdowns in 15 games. With rookie receiver Puka Nacua breaking out immediately, it was hard for Higbee to be much more than a touchdown-dependent, low-end TE1/high-end TE2 in fantasy.

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (knee) is confirmed to have a torn ACL, according to sources Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Jan 15 12:10pm ET

An MRI exam will be done Monday to confirm that Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) tore his right ACL on an ugly-looking hit by Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph in the fourth quarter of Sunday night's wild-card game. If the 31-year-old indeed has a torn ACL in his knee, he probably won't end up being ready for the start of the 2024 season this fall. Higbee remains under contract with the Rams for next season, but rookie Davis Allen could open the year as the team's primary pass-catching tight end if Higbee is still rehabbing his knee injury. In 15 regular season games in 2023, Higbee was a low-end TE1/high-end TE2 for fantasy managers and finished with 47 receptions for 495 yards and only two touchdowns on 70 targets.

Updating an earlier report, Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (knee) is believed to have sustained a torn ACL during the team's Wild Card loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Jan. 14. Higbee will undergo additional tests to confirm the diagnosis.

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (shoulder) is officially good to go for Sunday's postseason clash with the Detroit Lions. The veteran dislocated his shoulder in Week 17 and didn't suit up for the season finale versus the San Francisco 49ers. There were some doubts he wouldn't be available. But he logged three limited practice sessions ahead of this one, so he's healthy enough to get on the field. Without question, the injury could severely impact Higbee's play on the field. However, his DFS rostering cost on Sunday is a bargain, meaning he deserves consideration from those looking for a value opportunity.

From RotoBaller

Jan 14 7:03pm ET

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (shoulder) is active for the NFC Wild Card game against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Spin: Higbee carried a questionable tag into the postseason game, but he'll gut it out. Higbee should be in line for a decent share of targets in a potential shootout at Ford Field.

From TheHuddle

Jan 12 4:43pm ET

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 12, and is listed as questionable for the Wild Card playoff game.

Fantasy Spin: Higbee should have a good chance to play this week after three limited practices, but fantasy players can check the inactive list for his official status. He will see a decent amount of targets if active and can be a starting option in all leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 12 2:40pm ET

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (shoulder) will be listed as questionable for the team's wild-card contest on Sunday night versus the Detroit Lions, according to head coach Sean McVay. Despite dislocating his left shoulder in Week 17 and sitting out the meaningless Week 18 regular season finale against the San Francisco 49ers, Higbee should be fine to suit up on Sunday night after putting in limited practices this week. Still, the 31-year-old could be limited in what he can do if he's indeed active on wild-card weekend, making him a risky lower-priced DFS option for the weekend slate of six games. If Higbee is limited at all, rookie Davis Allen and Brycen Hopkins could see more snaps on offense. Higbee was a touchdown-dependent, low-end TE1, at best, during the regular season and finished with 47 catches, 495 yards and just two touchdowns on 70 targets.

From RotoBaller

Jan 11 8:30pm ET

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (shoulder) was limited in the team's practice on Thursday for the second straight day this week. Higbee dislocated his left shoulder in Week 17 and didn't play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the San Francisco 49ers. The 31-year-old is giving himself a shot to be active for Sunday night's wild-card playoff game against the Detroit Lions, but it doesn't mean the Rams won't label him as questionable on Friday's final report. Even if Higbee gets cleared to play on wild-card weekend, it's tough to recommend him to for DFS lineups despite a good matchup for the TE position against Detroit's defense. At best, he'll be a low-upside, touchdown-dependent tight end for fantasy managers. Rookie Davis Allen and Brycen Hopkins would share TE duties if Higbee ultimately is ruled out.

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (shoulder) was limited during practice Thursday, Jan. 11.

Fantasy Spin: Higbee appears to have a decent chance to play in the Wild Card playoff game, but fantasy players will need to continue to monitor his situation over the next few days. He is a big part of the passing game when healthy and can be a No. 1 fantasy tight end this week.

From TheHuddle

Jan 10 7:50pm ET

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (shoulder) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday. A dislocated left shoulder that Higbee suffered in Week 17 kept him out of practice all of last week and for the Week 18 regular season finale against the San Francisco 49ers. The fact that he's practicing at all in the first session of the week is good news, but the 31-year-old veteran tight end might have to show more to be cleared to play in Sunday's wild-card tilt against the Detroit Lions. If he cannot play this weekend, rookie Davis Allen and Brycen Hopkins would share snaps at the tight end position. If Higbee plays, he'll be a risky DFS play coming off a pretty serious injury, even at his $3,400 price tag on Draft Kings, even in a favorable matchup against Detroit's defense.

Las Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (shoulder) was limited during practice Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Fantasy Spin: Higbee sat out the regular season finale and seems to have a decent chance to play in the Wild Card playoff game. He is a big part of the passing game when healthy and should be a starting option in fantasy leagues if active.
