Player Notes
Nov 22 8:50pm ET

New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton threw for 365 yards in a Week 11 loss to the Houston Texans. Newton was 26-for-40 and threw one touchdown. He added six rushing yards as well. It was Newton's first 300-yard game since Week 2 and featured his fourth game in a row without an interception. Newton isn't the same player he used to be, but with a couple of juicy matchups on tap, you should think of him as a high-end QB2 with QB1 upside for the next two weeks.

Nov 22 5:53pm ET

New England Patriots QB Cam Newton went 26-for-40 for 365 yards and one touchdown against the Houston Texans in Week 11. He rushed for only six yards on three carries during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Newton posted his second 300-yard game of the season against the Texans but has only two passing touchdowns in the last six games. He does add fantasy value because of his running ability but probably can be avoided next week against the Arizona Cardinals.

From TheHuddle

Nov 22 4:30pm ET

Patriots' QB Cam Newton passed for 365 yards on 26-of-40 with one touchdown in Sunday's loss in Houston.

Nov 20 2:30pm ET

New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton found the end zone twice during the Week 10 win over the Baltimore Ravens. Newton is not the same player that he used to be, but still can be a useful fantasy option when he's efficient. He'll be an intriguing option against the Houston Texans in Week 11. A defense that has allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Usually Newton needs to play mistake free football just to have low-end value in standard leagues. He's probably not worth the risk since the Pats have limited weapons on offense.

From RotoBaller

Nov 16 8:20pm ET

New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton didn't have a great outing, but was effective during the Week 10 win over the Baltimore Ravens. He completed 13 of 17 passing attempts for 118 yards with one touchdown and zero interceptions. Newton also rushed 11 times for 21 yards and one touchdown on the ground. He didn't have great passing numbers, but Newton limited the turnovers. He'll have a better matchup ahead of him against the Houston Texans next week.

From RotoBaller

Nov 16 1:03am ET

New England Patriots QB Cam Newton completed 13 of 17 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown in a Week 10 win over the Baltimore Ravens. Newton also ran 11 times for 21 yards and a score.

Fantasy Spin: New England elected to go with a power-based ground attack Sunday night with 18 passing attempts against 39 rushes. It was a successful approach, and you have to wonder if we'll see more of it going forward (or if the heavy rain provided the impetus). Most of Newton's value right now is coming from his rushing TDs, which probably isn't enough for a QB1 spot some weeks but should be adequate for him to be owned in most leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 15 11:30pm ET

Patriots' QB Cam Newton averaged a dismal 1.9 yards per carry on 11 attempts in Sunday's game against the Ravens. He did score one touchdown in the win.

Nov 13 3:40pm ET

Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Calais Campbell (calf) has been ruled out for the Sunday night game against the Patriots in Week 10, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Campbell injured his calf last Sunday and will miss his first game since 2014, ending a streak of 98 straight starts. The pass-rusher leads the team with four sacks and is tied for the team lead with five tackles for loss, so Baltimore's D will surely miss him against New England. It's good news for Patriots quarterback Cam Newton, although he's still a fade as a QB1 against this strong defense. Despite not having Campbell available this weekend, the Ravens Defense remains a strong starting unit in fantasy against a mediocre Patriots offense.

Nov 12 7:20pm ET

New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton was finally able to get over the 200-yard mark for passing yards for the first time in four games. Newton was in a rough slump, but looked decent against the New York Jets in Week 9. He completed 27 of 35 passing attempts for 274 yards with zero touchdowns and zero interceptions in the win. Most of his fantasy value came from the fact he had 10 rushing attempts for 16 yards and two touchdowns. Newton is likely going to have a tough time against the Baltimore Ravens this week. A team that has played like a top-10 fantasy defense to opposing quarterbacks this season. Fantasy owners should expect a poor or mediocre performance from Newton here.

From RotoBaller

Nov 11 8:15pm ET

Patriots' QB Cam Newton scored 27.30 fantasy points in Monday's Week 9 win in New York Jets. Newton threw for 274 yards on 27-of-35. It's the 3rd time this season Newton scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.

Nov 10 12:10pm ET

New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton (neck) is dealing with a sore neck after getting hit hard during a sack in the Monday night win over the Jets. "My neck is only working on a degree angle that shuts off the degrees to one side. So my eye muscles are getting a lot of work in today," Newton said. Jets safety Ashtyn Davis was penalized for unnecessary roughness, but Newton stayed in the game. The former MVP had one of his best games of the year, going 27-for-35 for 274 yards with two rushing touchdowns. He now has eight rushing TDs this year, his most in a single season since 2015 when he had 10. It was a nice bounce-back game from Newton, but he'll be more of a low-end QB2 in Week 10 against the Ravens and their strong defense.

From RotoBaller

Nov 10 12:03pm ET

New England Patriots QB Cam Newton (neck) has a sore neck from a hit he suffered in Week 9.

Fantasy Spin: Newton is up to eight rushing touchdowns on the season. The problem, though, is he hasn't thrown for one in the last four games. He remains a fantasy backup despite the propensity to score on the ground.

From TheHuddle

Nov 10 8:50am ET

New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton was able to somewhat rebound against the New York Jets in Week 9. He completed 27 of 35 passing attempts for 274 yards with zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. It wasn't a great statistical outing by Newton passing the ball, but he was able to salvage his fantasy value with 10 rushing attempts for 16 yards and two touchdowns. His fantasy value is expected to regress against a tough Baltimore Ravens Defense next week.

From RotoBaller

Nov 9 11:30pm ET

New England's QB Cam Newton averaged a dismal 1.6 yards per carry on 10 attempts in Monday's game in New York Jets. He did score two touchdowns in the win.

Nov 9 11:23pm ET

New England Patriots QB Cam Newton completed 27-of-35 passes for 274 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 9 against the New York Jets on Monday, Nov. 9, and he added 10 runs for 16 yards and two scores.

Fantasy Spin: Newton hasn't thrown a touchdown pass since Sept. 27 against the Raiders, a span of four games, although he does have four rushing scores during the span and eight rushing touchdowns in seven games overall. He remains more of a QB2 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football.

From TheHuddle

Nov 7 11:40am ET

New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton has cooled down after his hot start to kick off the 2020 season. Newton has only thrown over 200 yards once this entire season. Luckily, Newton has been able to salvage his fantasy value by gaining yards with his legs. Although, it hasn't been enough to put him in the QB1 conversation most weeks. He'll get a favorable matchup against the New York Jets who have allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Newton has been tough to own in leagues lately, but this is his best chance to rebound.

From RotoBaller

Nov 1 9:50pm ET

New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton made the most out of a bad situation with both of his top receivers sidelined in Week 8. He completed 15 of 25 passing attempts for 174 yards with zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. Newton also rushed nine times for 54 yards and one touchdown, which saved his fantasy value. Sadly, he fumbled in the red zone and cost New England a potential game winning drive. His fantasy value should hopefully get better against the horrendous New York Jets next week.

From RotoBaller

Nov 1 4:43pm ET

New England Patriots QB Cam Newton went 15-for-25 for 174 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Buffalo Bills in Week 8. He also rushed for 54 yards and one touchdown on nine carries but lost a fumble during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Newton has gone three straight games without a touchdown pass but will continue to be the team's starting quarterback for now. He will face the New York Jets next week and can still be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues because of the matchup.

From TheHuddle

Nov 1 12:40pm ET

With their top two wide receivers out and the wind swirling, the New England Patriots reportedly plan to focus on their run game Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. That should mean a lot of rushes for quarterback Cam Newton and running backs Damien Harris, Rex Burkhead, and James White. Newton and Harris should benefit the most from this game plan from a fantasy perspective, while the team's wide receivers don't have much value outside of being contrarian plays in DFS contests.

From RotoBaller

Oct 26 10:50pm ET

New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton looked horrendous during the Week 7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. He completed nine of 15 passing attempts for 98 yards and zero touchdowns with three interceptions. He also rushed five times for 19 yards before being benched in the second half. To be fair, Jarrett Stidham didn't look much better since the Pats receivers can't get open. Head coach Bill Belichick confirmed that Newton is the starting quarterback going forward. He'll be a QB2 option against the Buffalo Bills next week.
