Player Notes
Nov 22 11:33pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz finished with four grabs for 25 yards and the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter in Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Spin: Schultz scored his first touchdown since Week 4 against the Browns. He has managed four or more grabs in four of the past five outings, which is pretty spectacular since the Cowboys have started three different quarterbacks during the span. He remains a decent TE2 in most fantasy leagues. The Cowboys host Washington on Thanksgiving in Week 12.

Nov 22 8:00pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz scored a touchdown in a Week 11 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Schultz was targeted six times, catching four passes for 25 yards. His score came on a short two-yard pass from Andy Dalton near the end of the game, and ended up being the game-winning score. Schultz has developed a solid fantasy floor regardless of the struggles of the Cowboys offense. With things maybe developing somewhat with Andy Dalton back under center, Schultz should work his way into the bottom end of the TE1 fantasy ranks going forward.

Nov 18 2:30pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz makes for a decent floor option in a Week 11 game against the Minnesota Vikings. Schultz has made 35 catches for 383 yards and two touchdowns so far this year, and while he doesn't offer too much upside, he does have enough of a role in the passing game to provide a decent fantasy floor, especially in tight end premium leagues. He's settling into a spot somewhere right on the TE1/2 border on most weeks.

Nov 8 8:10pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz made four catches in a Week 9 loss, gaining 48 yards. He tied for the team lead in targets with seven, along with wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup. Fourth-string quarterback Garrett Gilbert was able to spread the ball around to all of his pass catchers, targeting six different receivers at least three times each. Schultz has settled into a low-end TE1 role with not much of a ceiling, but a solid enough floor.

Nov 4 2:10pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz faces a tough matchup against the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9. Besides all of the struggles of a Cowboys offense that will now turn to their fourth starting quarterback of the season, the Steelers Defense also limits opposing tight ends very well. Schultz could still see more than a few looks, as struggling quarterbacks tend to look for their tight ends for short completions, but Schultz's upside is certainly limited. He's a mid-range TE2 with a little bit of touchdown upside.

Nov 2 1:43am ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz had six catches for 53 yards in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fantasy Spin: Schultz's eight targets were second only to Michael Gallup, though he seemed to get a lot of action on the team's final drive. We'll see if this leads to more when Andy Dalton returns, which is expected to happen in Week 9, as Schultz has done little since Prescott was injured.

From TheHuddle

Nov 2 12:20am ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz was targeted eight times in Week 8, catching six passes for 53 yards. Schultz was second on the team in targets, catches, and yards, as rookie quarterback Ben DiNucci made short throws all night long. Schultz has been a solid performer at a shallow position all season, but after a few down weeks, it was nice to see him heavily involved again. Schultz should remain a low-end TE1 with a safe floor when Andy Dalton (concussion) returns to the starting lineup.

From RotoBaller

Oct 28 2:40pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz is no longer in the TE1 rankings for Week 8. Despite a matchup with an Eagles team that allows tons of points to opposing tight ends, Schultz cannot be trusted with seventh-round rookie Ben DiNucci likely in charge of the Cowboys offense. Schultz and all of the Cowboys pass catchers saw a huge downgrade when Dak Prescott (ankle) was lost for the season, but at least Andy Dalton had run an NFL offense successfully in the past. Now with Dalton (concussion) likely out, DiNucci will be thrown to the wolves, making the Eagles Defense a top play while Schultz becomes nothing more than a low-end TE2.

From RotoBaller

Oct 25 6:23pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz caught two passes for 22 yards against the Washington Football Team in Week 7. He was targeted four times during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Schultz was an important part of the passing game earlier this season but has been held to 35 yards or less in each of the last three games. His value may also be hurt by the Cowboys quarterback situation, so fantasy players may want to keep Schultz on the bench for now.

From TheHuddle

Oct 25 5:40pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz made two catches in Week 7, gaining 22 yards. Unfortunately for the Cowboys, Schultz ended up second on the team in both catches and receiving yards. He was targeted four times in a game in which the Cowboys couldn't do much of anything on offense. Even if Andy Dalton (head) is able to play next week, Schultz may be no better than a mid-range TE2. Things are rough on both sides of the ball in Dallas right now.

From RotoBaller

Oct 21 5:40pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz could be set up for a nice bounce-back performance in Week 7 against the Washington Football Team. Schultz blew up in his first start in Week 2, but he's caught just five passes for 41 yards in his last two games combined. This week, however, Schultz and the Cowboys will take on a Washington defense that has allowed several tight ends to have top-15 fantasy weeks. While they defend opposing wide receivers well, they are somewhat vulnerable to tight ends. Schultz enters this game with nice upside and a pretty solid floor, even with quarterbackAndy Dalton running the offense. He's somewhere in the lower third of TE1 ranks.

From RotoBaller

Oct 20 12:53am ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz posted five receptions for 35 yards in Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals on five targets.

Fantasy Spin: Schultz was targeted early on by Andy Dalton, but he was barely used in the second half. He has four or more grabs in four of the past five outings, emerging as a respectable TE2 in most fantasy leagues and a decent bye week replacement. The Cowboys travel to meet the Washington Football Team in Week 7.

From TheHuddle

Oct 20 12:40am ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz made four catches in a Week 6 loss, gaining 35 yards. He was targeted five times, mostly running short routes in a game where Andy Dalton threw the ball 54 times but struggled seemingly every time he threw. Schultz flashed in his first post-Blake Jarwin start, but he's settled into a decent floor but low-ceiling tight end option. He'll come down with a touchdown now and then, but is more of a high-end TE2 in most matchups.

From RotoBaller

Oct 15 6:00pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz is hard to trust in fantasy starting lineups in Week 6. Even in a matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, who allow plenty of points to opposing tight ends, Schultz is a risky start because of his recent usage. He ran 29 pass routes in Week 5, but ended up being targeted just three times, catching only one. Before that, he'd made at least four catches or gained at least 48 yards in his previous three starts. He dealt with an injury at the end of the previous game, but it seemed more like a game plan issue in Week 5, as the Cowboys ran with four wide sets a bit more than usual. Schultz could be fine with Andy Dalton under center, but he enters Week 6 with a lower floor than usual and perhaps a limited ceiling as well. He's near the bottom of the TE1 ranks.

From RotoBaller

Oct 12 3:03am ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz caught one of his three targets for six yards in Week 5 versus the New York Giants.

Fantasy Spin: Schultz was quickly entering the low-end TE1 discussion in fantasy circles, but Dak Prescott's season-ending ankle injury figures to bring that to a halt for the most part. Although Andy Dalton is more than serviceable as a starting NFL quarterback, it's unlikely he'll be able to make more than two pass-catchers consistently viable for fantasy. Those two players figure to be Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb most weeks. Consider Schultz a TE2 with some upside in Week 6 versus the Arizona Cardinals.

From TheHuddle

Oct 11 9:10pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz caught only one of his three targets in a Week 5 win over the New York Giants. Schultz will likely see his upside take a hit with Dak Prescott (ankle) looking like he'll miss the rest of the season. Andy Dalton should be able to do a respectable enough job to keep Schultz in the TE2 conversation, but his upside as a TE1 will certainly be diminished.

From RotoBaller

Oct 7 8:40pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz (thigh) is expected to play in Week 5 against the New York Giants. Schultz was hurt near the end of the game in Week 4, suffering a bruised thigh, but he's reportedly been fine in practice and isn't in danger of missing Sunday's game. Schultz remains a low-end TE1 option in most formats. Before getting hurt in Week 4, he caught four passes for 72 yards and a touchdown. With the Cowboys throwing a ton every game, Schultz has developed a solid floor to go with an occasionally high ceiling. The Giants have been decent at defending opposing tight ends, but nothing about their defense says they should be a matchup to avoid.

From RotoBaller

Oct 6 12:00pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz (thigh) suffered a bruised thigh late in the Week 4 loss to the Browns, but the expectation is that he'll be able to play in Week 5 against the Giants. Schultz has stepped up with Blake Jarwin out for the season with an injury, and he's become a legitimate low-end TE1 for fantasy managers in Dallas' high-scoring offense. The Stanford product caught four of his eight targets last Sunday for 72 yards and a touchdowns against Cleveland. Over the last three contests, Schultz has been targeted 24 times, catching 17 passes and scoring twice. New York has been a bit stingy to the position so far this year, but Schultz remains an attractive option as long as this offense keeps humming.

From RotoBaller

Oct 4 6:33pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz registered four catches for 72 yards and a touchdown on eight targets in Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Spin: Schultz has at least four grabs in each of the past three games, and he has scored twice during the span. He has actually posted low-end TE1 numbers in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams during the previous three games. If you need help at the position he is worth a look in Week 5 against the New York Giants.

From TheHuddle

Oct 4 5:00pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz scored a touchdown in a Week 4 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Schultz was targeted eight times, catching four passes for 72 yards and a score. His eight targets tied him for second on the team, as he continues to be a key part of the Cowboys passing game. Schultz's touchdown was on a 26-yard pass in the fourth quarter. He'll remain a solid TE1 option with upside since the Cowboys Defense will seemingly force the offense to throw the ball a bunch every week.
