San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) is still considered day to day, head coach Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday, Nov. 25. He remains on the Reserve/Injured list, and the team has 21 days to activate him.

Fantasy Spin: Mostert should be able to step right back into a workhorse role when he is officially activated and able to see game action, as Tevin Coleman, Jerick McKinnon and Austin Walter, among others, have done little to nothing in Mostert's stead. Fantasy owners will likely want to see him make it through a full game without setbacks before plugging him back into the active lineup.

San Francisco 49ers RBs Raheem Mostert (ankle) and Jeff Wilson Jr. (ankle) were designated for return from the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Nov. 24.

From TheHuddle

Nov 11 5:13pm ET

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) was ruled out for Week 10 by head coach Kyle Shanahan Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Fantasy Spin: Tevin Coleman, Jerick McKinnon and JaMycal Hasty will split backfield work for as long as Mostert remains sidelined. Any one of them can be started as an RB2/FLEX option but each comes with a low floor. McKinnon is likely the safest play.

From TheHuddle

Nov 11 5:00pm ET

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) was hoping to return in Week 10 against the Saints, but head coach Kyle Shanahan has already ruled the running back out for this weekend. The Niners have a bye in Week 11, so there's a much better chance that Mostert will resurface in Week 12 against the division-rival Rams. Tevin Coleman (knee) is also likely to miss another game this weekend, so it should once again be Jerick McKinnon and rookie JaMycal Hasty sharing backfield touches against New Orleans. Mostert needs to remain stashed in all formats, as he should be the leading ball-carrier when he's fully healthy. McKinnon and Hasty have shared lead-back duties each of the last two weeks, with neither running back particularly standing out for fantasy purposes. They'll both be boom/bust RB3/flex options in PPR leagues.

Updating previous stories, San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) was officially placed on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Oct. 24. S Johnathan Cyprien and S Jared Mayden were activated from the team's practice squad. WR Jauan Jennings (undisclosed) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list.

From TheHuddle

Oct 23 8:43pm ET

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 23, and has been ruled out for Week 7.

Fantasy Spin: Mostert is expected to miss multiple weeks because of the injury, so fantasy players should look for other options to use. Jerick McKinnon and JaMycal Hasty likely will share playing time while Mostert is sidelined. McKinnon probably has more fantasy value and can be a flex option in leagues. Hasty should be rostered in leagues and has a chance to be a flex option depending on the opponent.

From TheHuddle

Oct 23 5:13pm ET

San Francisco 49ers LB Kwon Alexander (ankle), RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) and S Jaquiski Tartt (groin) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 7 against the New England Patriots. DB Jimmie Ward (quad) was added to the injury report after not practicing Friday, Oct. 23, and has also been ruled out. OT Trent Williams (ankle) and Jeff Wilson Jr. (calf) were limited in practice Friday and are listed as questionable. CB Dontae Johnson (groin) practiced in full for a second straight day and has been removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Oct 23 9:50am ET

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) has sat out practice all week after suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 6. Early this week, the speculation was that Mostert would be placed on Injured Reserve. While that has yet to happen, it's still something we could see before the team's game this week. Regardless, he won't be suiting up in Week 7 against the New England Patriots and will likely miss at least one or two more games after that. Jerick McKinnon and JaMycal Hasty are likely to lead the backfield for the 49ers in Week 7.

Oct 22 7:43pm ET

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 22.

Fantasy Spin: Mostert is expected to be miss multiple weeks because of the injury, so fantasy players should keep him on the bench. Jerick McKinnon, Jeff Wilson Jr., and JaMycal Hasty probably will see work at running back this week. McKinnon probably has the most fantasy value and can be a flex option in fantasy leagues.

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Fantasy Spin: Mostert remains expected to miss multiple weeks. Fantasy managers should be grabbing Jerick McKinnon wherever available.

From TheHuddle

Oct 19 7:00pm ET

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) is most likely headed toward a stint on injured reserve due to a high ankle sprain, per 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan. Mostert had just worked his way back from a knee injury, but will now miss considerable time with another lower-body injury, paving the way for Jerick McKinnon to become a fantasy commodity in nearly any-sized season-long league. A full-time starter for the first time this season, Mostert has averaged 5.9 yards per carry over four contests. Those with IR slots available in season-long formats can wait on his ankle injury to heal, while DFS fantasy managers can begin eyeing McKinnon on Sunday versus New England.

From RotoBaller

Oct 19 6:53pm ET

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) suffered a high ankle sprain during the Week 6 game and likely will be placed on the Reserve/Injured list, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Fantasy Spin: Jerick McKinnon, Jeff Wilson Jr. and JaMycal Hasty probably will all see playing time while Mostert is out of the lineup. McKinnon may have the most value among the three and can be a flex option in leagues. Fantasy players can consider adding Wilson and Hasty if they are available.

From TheHuddle

Oct 19 2:03am ET

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) carried the ball 17 times for 65 yards against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Oct. 18, before departing with an ankle injury. Mostert also caught two passes for 11 yards.

Fantasy Spin: Mostert was running exceptionally hard Sunday night, but that style caught up with him as he suffered an ankle injury that kept him out for the entirety of the second half. Obviously the short-term move is to wait for a health update on Mostert, who has already missed time this season due to injury.

From TheHuddle

Oct 18 11:40pm ET

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) had a decent game on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Rams before leaving with an ankle injury. Mostert rushed the ball 17 times for 65 yards and caught both of his targets for 11 yards. The severity of his injury is unknown at this time. Mostert just returned to the field last week from a knee injury that cost him two games. Rookie running back JaMycal Hasty saw nine carries on Sunday night, while Jerick McKinnon earned six carries and three targets in the passing game. Both players could be potential starting options next week if Mostert is unavailable.

From RotoBaller

Oct 18 10:33pm ET

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) limped off in the second quarter of the Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Rams. He attempted to return in the third quarter, but left again and he has now been ruled out for the rest of the night.

Fantasy Spin: With Mostert down, Jerick McKinnon will take over as the primary back while JaMycal Hasty remains the only other healthy back up for this game.

From TheHuddle

Oct 16 11:00am ET

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert looked fantastic in his return to action in Week 5, rushing for 90 yards on 11 carries while catching all three of his targets for 29 yards. This week, Mostert faces a tough matchup against a Los Angeles Rams team allowing just 106.4 rushing yards per game, the ninth-fewest in the league. Mostert has dominated carries while he's been healthy and active this year and Week 6 should be no exception. He's averaging a ridiculous seven yards per carry on the year, an average he's unlikely to equal against the Rams, but he should still be able to manage at least around 80 yards on the day with a good chance to score. Start him as a reliable RB2 option in Week 6.

From RotoBaller

Oct 12 12:53am ET

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert rushed for 90 yards on 11 carries and caught all three of his targets for 29 yards in Week 5 versus the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Spin: Mostert wasn't expected to be much more than a complement to Jerick McKinnon after missing the previous two games, but head coach Kyle Shanahan wasted no time giving him his usual workload. While the game quickly got out of hand for the 49ers and forced them to abandon the run, Mostert's fantasy owners have to be happy that he seems to have secured a heavy workload for now. He'll be a high-upside RB2 in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams with a low floor if San Francisco can't get its passing game in order this week.

From TheHuddle

Oct 11 8:00pm ET

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert looked great in his return to action in Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins. He rushed the ball 11 times for 90 yards and caught all three of his targets for 29 yards. He likely would have had an even bigger game if the 49ers could have kept thing close, but instead, they went on to lose by more than three touchdowns. Mostert dominated touches out of the backfield in the game. Jerick McKinnon had three touches and Jeff Wilson Jr. had four. The workload was encouraging to see after Mostert had missed the previous two games with a knee injury. Look for him to stay hot in Week 6 when the team faces the Los Angeles Rams.

From RotoBaller

Oct 11 3:00pm ET

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (knee) is officially a go for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. We'll see what kind of usage Mostert gets, but he should be deployed as a flex play at best this week. His return also means that Jeff Wilson Jr. isn't playable in most formats now, and that Jerick McKinnon is downgraded n this week's projections.
