2024 RTSports Outlook

Collins didn't have quite the breakout season most hoped, being slowed by injury, but he showed his potential when on the field. He played 10 games and had 37 receptions for 481 yards and two touchdowns. He had five of 10 games with double-digit fantasy points. He had at least five receptions three of the last four games he played. Collins should get first his chance to start this coming season. Collins is a big receiver with good size and speed. He is a good route runner that gets off the line well because of his strength. Collins can be a tough cover. Injuries are a concern after missing plenty of action each of his first two seasons in the NFL.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Collins is a wild card. He has plenty of potential in a starting role in a new offense with a new quarterback. He could take a step forward this year. Take him as a No. 4 and hope for the best. He could get around 60 receptions for 800 yards and five touchdowns.

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins made it known that he'd be open to contract-extension talks if the team approached him. After three seasons in the NFL, Collins is now eligible for an extension. He'll be entering the final year of his four-year, $4.871 million rookie contract in 2024, which includes a $902,990 signing bonus and a base salary of $1.324 million this year. "Oh man, I would love that," Collins said when asked about potentially launching early contract discussions. "That would be great." Coming off a breakthrough 2023 campaign in which he caught 80 passes for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 regular-season games, Collins will be in high demands in fantasy drafts this fall while paired with impressive young quarterback C.J. Stroud. In two playoff games, Collins had 11 receptions for 164 yards and a touchdown on 17 targets.

Dynasty | Texans wide receiver Nico Collins had five catches for 68 yards in the Texans playoff loss to Baltimore. Dynasty Analysis: Believe it or not, those totals both either tied or led the team. It was a quiet ending for Collins but hardly a quiet season as he recorded 80 catches for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns on the year. Collins is going to be be a fun player to rank next year as he's only 24 and looks to be a WR2 at the very least moving forward. His ADP is one of the biggest risers during the season and there's no reason to believe it's going to slip in the coming months.

Jan 21 12:00am ET

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins had 68 receiving yards in the team's 34-10 Divisional Round loss against the Baltimore Ravens. Collins was held in check for the most part by this Baltimore secondary, as the wideout totaled five catches for 68 yards. The third-year playmaker, though, did lead the team with 68 receiving yards and saw a game-high 10 targets. It was a remarkable season for Collins, who truly proved himself as the Texans' WR1 of the future. He should fly up draft boards in fantasy next season.

Jan 18 11:10pm ET

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins has been heavily involved offensively, and that shouldn't change in the team's Divisional Round matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore has played wide receivers tough all year and allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to that position group in 2023. But they will be without top cornerback Marlon Humphrey (calf) on Saturday. His absence will surely boost Collins' fantasy value. Back in Week 1, the Texans wideout was able to reel in six passes for 80 yards with Humphrey out of the lineup. That seems like a safe floor for him this weekend.

Dynasty | Texans receiver Nico Collins had six catches for 96 yards and a touchdown in Houston's Wild Card win against Cleveland. Dynasty Analysis: Collins erupted this season with a 80/1,297/8 line and started the playoffs with a bang. He actually could have had a much bigger day had CJ Stroud not overthrown him on what would have been another deep score. Collins has emerged as a true WR1 in Houston and the future is extremely bright for him moving forward. Of all the players who have moved up in terms of ADP this season, Collins is easily one of the biggest steals in last year's draft. Dynasty owners need to adjust their rankings accordingly as Collins is here to stay.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Jan 13 8:10pm ET

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins was unstoppable in the team's 45-14 win in the Wild-Card Round against the Cleveland Browns. Collins picked up right where he left off last week, totaling six catches for 96 yards and one touchdown on Saturday. Quarterback C.J. Stroud connected with the third-year wideout for a 15-yard score late in the first quarter to give Houston the lead. Collins could have also scored another touchdown on a deep pass, but Stroud just overshot him. The young wideout will look to keep his hot streak going into the Divisional Round next week.

Jan 11 8:20pm ET

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins will enter the playoffs against the Cleveland Browns following a career-high 195 receiving yards in the team's season finale win. Last week, Collins was unstoppable through the air, catching nine passes for 195 yards and one touchdown. The matchup against this Browns' secondary -- who have allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts -- isn't the best, though. However, Cleveland's top cornerback Denzel Ward suffered an injury in practice this week and is officially listed as questionable for the contest. If he can't go, Collins would be a better fantasy play on Saturday.

Jan 8 8:15pm ET

Texans' WR Nico Collins scored an impressive 34.50 fantasy points in Saturday's Week 18 win in Indianapolis. Collins caught nine passes for 195 yards with one touchdown. It's the 4th time this season Collins scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.

Jan 7 10:13pm ET

Dynasty | Texans receiver Nico Collins had nine catches for 195 yards and one touchdown in the Houston win against Indianapolis. Dynasty Analysis: Collins finishes the season with 80 catches for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns, establishing himself as a legitimate dynasty asset in the process. The 24-year old breakout star truly flourished this season as CJ Stroud ignited the Houston offense. Expect his ADP to rise this off-season, likely settling into the WR2 range. The only thing holding him back may be the emergence of fellow wide receiver Tank Dell, who is also going to be ranked in a similar range.

Jan 7 12:00am ET

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins exploded for a career day in the team's 23-19 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 18. Collins started off the game with a 75-yard touchdown on Houston's first offensive snap. That helped the young wideout finish with a career-high 195 receiving yards on nine catches and one touchdown. After his big day, Collins finished the regular season with 80 catches for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns. He'll look to bring that production next week into the playoffs for the Texans.

Texans' WR Nico Collins had 9 receptions for 195 yards with one touchdown for an astounding 21.7 yards per catch in Saturday's win in Indianapolis.

Jan 5 3:40pm ET

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins has been a surprise fantasy star this year, and he'll look to cap off an impressive season in Week 18 against the Indianapolis Colts. Collins is coming off a solid seven-catch for 80-yard performance in Week 17. The third-year wideout remains a weapon for quarterback C.J. Stroud in the passing game and that should continue on Saturday. In Week 2, the 24-year-old playmaker totaled seven catches for 146 yards and one touchdown against this Colts' secondary. In a must-win game for the Texans, Collins is a strong play this weekend.

From RotoBaller

Jan 1 10:30am ET

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins caught seven of eight targets for 80 yards during Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans. He also added a seven-yard rush. Collins has impressed in his two games since returning from a calf injury, and he also benefitted from C.J. Stroud returning to the fold this week after he cleared concussion protocol. As the No. 1 wide receiver in an offense led by a dynamic quarterback, Collins should be viewed as a solid WR2 option in most fantasy leagues for Week 18.

From RotoBaller

Dec 30 2:50pm ET

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins hasn't been fully healthy over the past few weeks. He suffered a calf injury in Week 14, missed Week 15, and only played 47% of the team snaps in last week's loss. But Collins is off the injury report heading into Sunday's matchup against the Tennessee Titans. With quarterback C.J. Stroud (concussion) back under center and the Titans allowing the seventh-most fantasy points per game to wideouts this season, Collins is a must-start in Week 17.

From RotoBaller

Dec 28 11:00pm ET

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins (calf) was a full participant in Thursday's practice after being limited in the first practice of the week on Wednesday. Collins missed a game in Week 15 due to his calf injury before returning in last week's loss to the Cleveland Browns in which he played less than half the offensive snaps and caught four passes for 18 yards and a touchdown. The 24-year-old should have a bigger role this weekend versus the Tennessee Titans, and he'll have the added bonus of getting rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud back for a very winnable game. Collins has clear WR2 upside during championship week in fantasy. He's scored in three of his last four games and has been one of Stroud's favorite targets in 2023. Collins has hit the 100-yard mark in four games, including two of his last four.

Dec 27 9:50pm ET

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins (calf) was limited on Wednesday ahead of his team's Week 17 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Collins missed Week 15 with a calf injury but he was able to return to action in Week 16, catching four balls for 18 yards and a touchdown. There was no word of Collins suffering a setback during Week 16 and it is likely that the Texans are just managing his reps heading into Week 17. That being said, keep an eye on his practice participation for the remainder of the week heading into the weekend.

From RotoBaller

Dec 25 1:10am ET

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins averted a fantasy disaster in Sunday's dismal 36-22 loss to the Cleveland Browns, managing four catches on six targets for 18 yards and a touchdown. Besides Dameon Pierce's thrilling touchdown on a kickoff return in the second quarter, it was a miserable afternoon all around for a Texans team jockeying for playoff positioning. Collins went down with the ship on a day Houston swapped signal-callers midgame, but he scraped up a garbage-time score during the fourth period from five yards away as well as an ensuing two-point conversion to buoy his output. Fantasy managers will take it, as the 24-year-old breakout wideout was questionable entering the game due to a calf injury that cost him Week 15. Collins hopes to see C.J. Stroud (concussion) back at the helm for the fantasy finals in Week 17 versus a pass-funnel Tennessee Titans defense, but he should be in play as a WR2 no matter who is under center.

Dec 24 10:50am ET

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins (calf) is officially active for Week 16 versus the Cleveland Browns. Head coach DeMeco Ryans told ESPN's Kimberley Martin that Collins is "ready to roll" and has "no limitations" this week. He won't be eased back into action but rather should see a full workload from the very first drive. Given that the young receiver excels against man coverage, he could have a great game this week, especially without Tank Dell (leg) in the fold. Despite the downgrade at quarterback from C.J. Stroud (concussion) to Case Keenum, Collins still ranks as a low-end fantasy WR2.

From RotoBaller

Dec 24 2:30am ET

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins (calf) is expected to play on Sunday versus the Browns. The 24-year-old wasn't available in Week 15 against the Tennessee Titans. However, he practiced in a limited capacity during the week, so he's been trending in a favorable direction. At any rate, Collins has played well this season, amassing 60 catches for 1,004 yards and six touchdowns. Unfortunately, he won't have C.J. Stroud (concussion), which isn't ideal. The Texans offense could also struggle against a challenging Browns defense. But Collins is a must-start even with Case Keenum under center, although fantasy managers may not receive his usual production.

From RotoBaller

Dec 22 5:00pm ET

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins (calf) is listed as questionable on Friday's final injury report. Collins missed last week's game due to a calf issue, but has a better chance at playing this weekend against the Cleveland Browns. The Texans offense is already going to take a hit with quarterback C.J. Stroud (concussion) ruled out. The return of Collins would at least give backup quarterback Case Keenum a decent passing option. If active, Collins should be able to carve out WR3 value in PPR formats.
