Player Notes
Jan 8 10:00pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson caught two of his 10 targets for 38 yards and added a two-point conversion reception in a 28-14 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 18. Johnson led the Steelers in targets but he and quarterback Kenny Pickett struggled to get on the same page for much of the afternoon. Johnson wraps up a disappointing 2022 season with 86 catches for 882 yards and no touchdowns across 17 games, his worst season since his rookie year back in 2019. Johnson will be a high-risk/high-reward pick as a WR3 in fantasy in 2023 drafts. He could pay off if the Pittsburgh offense takes a step forward next season but rookie George Pickens could also unseat him as the No. 1 wideout in town.

Jan 6 4:50pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hip) practiced fully on Friday and is listed without an injury designation heading into his team's Week 18 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns have been a tough matchup for wide receivers this season as they are allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position. Johnson had one of his better games of the season back when these two teams met in Week 3, catching eight balls for 84 yards. The Steelers still have a chance to make the playoffs if they win, so Johnson should see a full workload against Cleveland this weekend. Fantasy gamers can treat Johnson as a mid-range WR3 heading into Week 18.

Jan 5 3:10pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hip) was a full participant in practice on Thursday after he was held out of Wednesday's session. In a must-win game in the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the division-rival Cleveland Browns, Johnson should be on the field and available to fantasy managers still playing for a championship. The 26-year-old has had a disappointing campaign with a combination of rookie Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky playing quarterback, as he still is without a touchdown catch through 17 weeks. He has also failed to crack 100 yards receiving in a single game, making him more of a WR3/flex this year. Johnson caught eight of his 11 targets for 74 yards in the first meeting against the Browns in Week 3.

Jan 5 10:10am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hip) missed Wednesday's practice with a hip injury. He has been dealing with multiple injuries over the last few weeks but has yet to miss a game. The 26-year-old will look to practice later this week. Johnson has caught 84 of 137 targets for 844 yards over 16 games in 2022. He has yet to find the end zone this season after scoring eight touchdowns in 2021. Johnson will look to score his first touchdown against the Browns in the regular season finale. The former third-round pick faces a Browns defense that ranks ninth in DVOA versus opposing WR1s and is mid-range WR3 in fantasy for Week 18.

Jan 2 6:00am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson caught two of his seven targets for 35 yards in a 16-13 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 17. Johnson was quiet on a night where the Steelers opted to go run-heavy, finishing with his lowest receiving yards since Week 11 while the two catches tied for his fewest all season. The veteran wideout has continued to be heavily targeted in the 2022 season, although it hasn't translated into much production on the field. Johnson is still looking for his first touchdown of the season as he heads into Week 18 against the Cleveland Browns.

From RotoBaller

Dec 30 6:50am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson is still looking for his first touchdown of the season, although he has seen 36 targets over his last four games. In Week 17, Johnson will go on the road to face off against the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore has been a decent matchup for wideouts in 2022, allowing the 11th-most fantasy points per game thus far. Johnson caught six of his eight targets for 82 yards back when he faced the Ravens in Week 14. Johnson settles in as a low-end WR3 in fantasy for Week 17.

Dec 29 8:10pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hip) was a full participant in practice on Thursday after he was limited on Wednesday. Johnson is fully expected to be able to play on Sunday night against the division-rival Baltimore Ravens. While the fourth-year wideout has been a big disappointment with no touchdowns so far in 2022, he has been better of late, catching 21 of his 25 targets for 244 yards. One of those games came in the first meeting against Baltimore in Week 14, when he caught six of eight targets for 82 yards. The Ravens defense has been a great matchup for opposing wideouts, so fantasy managers should consider the 26-year-old a WR3/flex with upside in championship matchups this week.

Dec 29 1:20am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (toe) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. After a five-reception, 64-yard performance against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 16, the 26-year-old is starting off Week 17 on the injury report. However, this is not a development to panic over, as Johnson had a similar designation last week and ended up playing. Monitor his status, but the fourth-year receiver appears to be on the right track for Week 17. Consider him a WR3 against Baltimore.

From RotoBaller

Dec 24 11:50pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson caught five of his seven targets for 64 yards in a 13-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 16. Johnson finished third on the team in targets and catches while his 64 receiving yards were the second-most behind only Pat Freiermuth. Johnson has gotten to at least 60 receiving yards in each of his past four games, although he's still looking for his first touchdown of the year. He will take on the Baltimore Ravens on the road in Week 17. He caught six passes for 82 yards against the Ravens back in Week 14.

From RotoBaller

Dec 22 6:30pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (toe) is listed as questionable for the Week 16 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Head coach Mike Tomlin said that Johnson would be rested in practice this week. That being said, it makes sense why Johnson didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday. It sounds like Johnson is planning on playing, but probably won't be 100 percent healthy. He should be in the WR3 conversation for the upcoming Saturday matchup with the Raiders.

From RotoBaller

Dec 21 5:20pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (toe) will take on the Las Vegas Raiders at home in Week 16. Johnson is dealing with turf toe but it appears that his limited tag in Tuesday's practice was more due to getting the veteran some rest on a short week. If Johnson winds up playing, he draws a nice matchup against a Raiders pass defense that is allowing the 15th-most fantasy points per game to wideouts and ranks dead last in the league in DVOA against the pass. Johnson sets up on the WR2/WR3 borderline heading into Week 16.

From RotoBaller

Dec 20 2:20pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (toe) is dealing with turf toe, according to head coach Mike Tomlin. However, Tomlin said he doesn't expect Johnson's injury to extend into the latter part of the week for the team's Christmas Eve game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday night. Johnson played last week's win over the Carolina Panthers with the toe injury and had a season-high 10 receptions for a season-high 98 yards, but he still has yet to find the end zone in 2022. It also came with Mitch Trubisky under center, and rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett (concussion) is expected to return this week after a one-game absence. Johnson should play in Week 16 and he should continue to be a WR3/flex for fantasy managers in a good matchup against Vegas.

Dec 18 4:30pm ET

Steelers' WR Diontae Johnson had 10 receptions for 98 yards but no touchdowns in Sunday's win in Carolina.

Dec 18 4:20pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson caught all 10 of his targets for 98 yards in a 24-16 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 15. Johnson finished as the team leader in all reception categories in the road win over Carolina. The veteran wideout has been quiet for much of the season but his Week 15 performance was reminiscent of his 2021 production when Ben Roethlisberger was still playing. Johnson has gone for at least 82 receiving yards in each of his past two games as he appears to be trending up as the fantasy playoffs get rolling. He will face a leaky Las Vegas Raiders pass defense in Week 16.

From RotoBaller

Dec 15 6:30pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hip) did not practice on Thursday as his team gears up to face off against the Carolina Panthers in Week 15. Johnson practiced fully on Wednesday and followed the same pattern last week before ultimately taking the field in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14. For now, fantasy managers can tentatively expect to have Johnson available heading into a plus matchup against a Carolina defense that is allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts. Johnson is coming off of one of his better games of the year and can be treated as a mid-range WR3 for Week 15.

From RotoBaller

Dec 11 9:20pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson caught six of his eight targets for 82 yards in a 16-14 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14. Johnson's 82 receiving yards were the highest mark he has finished with since Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns. Of course, much of Johnson's production against the Ravens came with backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky under center after Kenny Pickett got concussed during the first quarter. Johnson has mostly underwhelmed this season but he will look to build upon his Week 14 performance against the Carolina Panthers in Week 15.

Dec 10 4:10pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hip) has been removed from the team's final injury report and is set to play in a Week 14 divisional showdown with the Baltimore Ravens. Johnson logged two limited practices this week and was initially listed as questionable with a hip injury. The fourth-year man is yet to catch a touchdown this season and has been disappointing for fantasy purposes, but will get a good matchup against a Ravens defense that is allowing the sixth-most PPR fantasy points to wideouts in 2022. Johnson saw 11 targets last week and should continue to be the primary option for rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett, making him worthy of flex consideration on Sunday.

From RotoBaller

Dec 9 5:30pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hip) is officially listed as questionable for his team's Week 14 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Johnson got in a limited session on Wednesday before missing practice on Thursday. He returned to a limited practice on Friday as his team gears up for a divisional matchup against Baltimore. If Johnson is able to play on Sunday, he will enjoy a plus matchup against a Baltimore defense that is allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to wideouts in 2022. That being said, Johnson has not shown much of a ceiling this season, setting him up as a low-end WR3 even if he's active. If Johnson does not play, it would upgrade the outlooks for both George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth in the Pittsburgh passing game. Stay tuned as Johnson could wind up as a game-time decision this weekend.

From RotoBaller

Dec 8 6:30pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hip) was not able to suit up for Thursday's practice. He has been nursing a hip injury throughout most of the season. He was able to get through a limited session on Wednesday. As always, Friday's practice is going to go a long way to determining whether or not Johnson will play this weekend. His absence would mean increased value for George Pickens. If healthy, fantasy managers should consider Johnson a WR3 for this matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. There should be more details on his status after Friday's practice.

From RotoBaller

Dec 7 4:10pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hip) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday. Johnson's Week 14 status is worth watching, but it's a good sign he was at least practicing early in the week. In the Week 13 win over the Atlanta Falcons, he caught five of his 11 targets for 60 yards while playing 82 percent of the offensive snaps. Johnson has a healthy 105 targets in 12 games this season, but he's done little with them (565 yards) and has yet to score in 2022 after finding the end zone a career-high eight times in 2021. Rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett has been improving, so hopefully Johnson will peak at the right time for fantasy managers. Consider him a WR3/flex if he's active against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
