New York Jets LB Haason Reddick is not a trade option for the Dallas Cowboys even though LB Micah Parsons (ankle) and DE DeMarcus Lawrence (foot) are dealing with injuries, according to sources.

There is no resolution in sight for the New York Jets with defensive end Haason Reddick as the two sides continue to communicate. If Reddick continues to hold out as he seeks a new long-term deal, his fines will reach $10 million by Halloween. The two sides have been in a stalemate for months, with Reddick convinced the Jets had promised him a new contract after they acquired him from the Philadelphia Eagles in a trade. The Eagles traded Reddick after they were unwilling to pay him what he was seeking, believed to be in the $25 million per year range. The 30-year-old pass-rusher skipped all of the team's offseason workouts and even requested a trade in August. Reddick's holdout has extended through the first three weeks of the regular season, and there is no indication he'll report anytime soon. The Jets previously said they have no intentions of trading Reddick, so the staredown continues. New York doesn't want to give in, but the belief is the Jets may have no choice but to trade Reddick eventually.

New York Jets linebacker Jermaine Johnson (Achilles) confirmed on Monday that he suffered a season-ending torn Achilles in the Week 2 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The Jets feared this was the case when Johnson was forced to leave Sunday's contest, and now it is confirmed that they will not have Johnson for the rest of the year. It's an especially tough blow for a Jets defense that continues to be without All-Pro pass-rusher Haason Reddick as he continues his contract holdout into the regular season. The 25-year-old Johnson, a former first-round pick in 2022 out of Florida State, was a first-time Pro Bowler in 2023 while recording 55 total tackles, a career-high 7.5 sacks and an interception in 17 games. It's a notable loss for the Jets defense this year, but it shouldn't knock their defense/special teams unit from being a weekly play in fantasy lineups.

Updating a previous report New York Jets linebacker Jermaine Johnson (Achilles) is believed to have suffered a torn Achilles on Sunday. Johnson will have an MRI to confirm the injury. This will be a huge loss for the Jets' defense. The 2022 first-round pick is an important pass rusher for the team. He finished 2023 with 7.5 sacks. He was off to a slow start in 2024 but never had a chance to fully get going this season. The injury may force the Jets into a sense of urgency with defensive end Haason Reddick who is holding out for a new contract. Either way, this will certainly impact the Jets D/ST moving forward.

New York Jets LB Haason Reddick's camp remains in communication with the Jets, but they haven't budged on their stance of a new contract before reporting. People close to Reddick have said that he is the type of person that will hold out all season until he gets a new deal.

Multiple league executives think that the New York Jets will eventually need to explore flipping pass-rusher Haason Reddick via trade, as their contract impasse with him has no end in sight. Reddick remains on the Reserve/Did Not Report list and has forfeited a $791,666 game check on top of the more than $5 million in NFL-mandated fines he accumulated by holding out in training camp. "Not sure they have a choice," an NFC executive said. "They wouldn't get similar value back [a third-rounder], but it would be hard [for the Jets] to pay him at this point, and he clearly doesn't want to be there. Both sides badly mismanaged the situation." The Jets acquired the 29-year-old defensive end from the Philadelphia Eagles in the offseason, but his holdout extended into the regular season when he didn't play in the Monday night loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Stay tuned.

New York Jets EDGE Haason Reddick will forfeit $800,000 for missing Week 1 and will forfeit $800,000 more for every other game he misses. This is on top of $5 million of NFL-mandated fines.

Sep 5 1:40pm ET

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on Thursday that pass-rusher Haason Reddick has not yet shown up as he continues his contract holdout. Saleh stopped short of ruling Reddick out for the team's Week 1 contest on Monday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers, but each passing day that he remains absent makes it less likely. The 29-year-old edge rusher still has one year left on his current deal but is seeking a new long-term deal from the Jets after they acquired him from the Philadelphia Eagles in the offseason. The former first-rounder by the Arizona Cardinals in 2017 has been a Pro Bowler each of the last two seasons and has had double-digit sacks in each of his last four campaigns. If Reddick eventually reports to the Jets, the talented pass-rusher will make an already strong Jets defense even that much better.

Aug 29 7:20pm ET

New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas said that nothing has changed on the team's end regarding the situation with defensive end Haason Reddick. Douglas said the team has been "clear and direct" in their communication and said the ball is in their court. "I have faith that this will all get resolved," Douglas said. With just over a week left until the start of the 2024 regular season for the Jets, the 29-year-old Reddick hasn't been with his new team at all this offseason or summer. Reddick, who was traded from the Eagles to the Jets early this offseason, subsequently requested a trade from the Jets, with Douglas saying the organization has no plans to trade him. If Reddick doesn't get a new long-term contract that he desires, it's possible that his holdout could spill over into the regular season. The situation has made him one to avoid in IDP fantasy leagues for now.

Aug 28 10:00am ET

New York Jets pass rusher Haason Reddick was dealt to the organization from the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason, but he made it clear he wanted a long-term deal, and the Jets have not signed him to one. This has led to Reddick requesting another trade, but the team is still holding out hope that he will play in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers. "I'm assuming he's in phenomenal shape," head coach Robert Saleh said. "He's a veteran. He knows what he needs to get ready. He's had success in multiple buildings and multiple schemes with multiple coaching staffs, so he's going to know what he needs to do to be ready for Week 1." Reddick has sneakily been one of the most productive pass rushers in the NFL, ranking fourth in total sacks (50.5) since 2020 despite playing for three different teams during that stretch. The New York defense was already one of the best units in the NFL last season, so getting Reddick on the field could make the team even more dangerous in 2024. The Jets are looking to go all in for a Super Bowl, so they should be motivated to work something out for the two-time Pro Bowler.

Aug 13 2:40pm ET

One day after linebacker Haason Reddick's wish to be traded became public, the New York Jets remain in lockstep regarding the matter. "I'm not gonna elaborate any more than (general manager) Joe (Douglas) did," head coach Robert Saleh said at training camp on Tuesday. "It is what it is. I'm going to focus on the guys who are here." Reddick is an unrestricted free agent in 2025 and is looking for a new deal with New York. The two-time Pro Bowler and former first-round pick is entering his age-30 season in 2024, but he remains an integral member of the Jets' vaunted defense. In 17 appearances last season, Reddick generated 11.5 sacks, 56 quarterback pressures, and 14 tackles for loss.

Aug 12 3:00pm ET

New York Jets All-Pro pass-rusher Haason Reddick, who is holding out still at training camp, has informed the team that he wants to be traded, according to multiple sources. Reddick has yet to play for the Jets after being acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles in a trade back in March. The 29-year-old pass-rusher has a year left on his current deal and will want a contract extension from any interested team that is willing to trade for him. The former 13th overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2017 out of Temple has made the Pro Bowl each of the last two years while playing for the Eagles and racked up 64 solo tackles, 27 sacks, 24 tackles for loss, 49 QB hits, four pass breakups, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries over 34 starts in that span. Regardless of where he's playing in 2024, Reddick should be on the IDP fantasy radar, at least as a bench stash.

Jul 27 1:10pm ET

Contract talks between defensive end Haason Reddick and the New York Jets have progressed positively this week, and as of earlier on Saturday, there's been hope that his presence and acclimation process with the team is approaching, according to sources. Reddick is currently holding out of training camp and also missed spring practices as he heads into his first year in New York. The situation has remained fluid over the duration of this process. The 29-year-old pass-rusher has recorded 50 sacks in the last four seasons and is expected to be a huge boost for the Jets' pass rush whenever he gets on the field. The first-rounder in 2017 by the Arizona Cardinals out of Temple, Reddick's fantasy stock in IDP leagues is dropping a bit since he's holding out, but he should at least be a bench option for pass-rushing depth in those formats.

New York Jets pass rusher Haason Reddick will continue to hold out as training camp gets underway, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Reddick skipped minicamp and continues to take a firm stance on his contract status with the regular season just six weeks away. The Jets acquired Reddick from the Eagles this offseason, hoping to benefit from a player who demonstrates availability and dominance. (He registered 11 sacks last year and has never missed a game throughout seven seasons.) While he seeks a new contract with just one year remaining on his current deal, we recently heard that the team is not expected to give him a new deal. It's unclear just how long this holdout will continue, but the two sides are clearly at an impasse as training camp gets underway across the NFL.

Jul 23 9:33am ET

New York Jets LB Haason Reddick isn't expected to report to training camp. Reddick is due $14.25 million in the final year of his deal after the Jets traded for him in March, and he's seeking an extension. Reddick is subject to $50,000 per-day fines for each absence.

From TheHuddle

Jul 1 5:00pm ET

New York Jets edge rusher Haason Reddick sat out the entire offseason program after being traded from the Philadelphia Eagles as he seeks a new contract. However, Jets reporter Zack Rosenblatt believes the team is unlikely to offer him a new deal before the start of training camp that begins on July 23. Reddick was unhappy with his deal in Philadelphia, which makes sense considering he has the sixth-most sacks since 2021 (38) but has the 19th-highest average salary ($15 million) among edge defenders. Rosenblatt said the organization could opt to guarantee his salary or add incentives to his deal to alleviate any issues, but this is a situation worth monitoring as the 2024 campaign approaches.

New York Jets linebacker Haason Reddick, who the Jets acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason to fortify their pass rush, is not present at mandatory minicamp this week. It makes Reddick officially a holdout, but head coach Robert Saleh indicated he felt Reddick would show up eventually. The 29-year-old didn't take part in any voluntary organized team activities last month, either, as he seeks a new contract with just one year remaining on his current deal. The Jets expected Reddick to take part in their offseason program when they traded for him, but apparently he's had a change of heart. The former 13th overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2017 out of Temple has been a Pro Bowler in each of the last two seasons and has double-digit sacks in each of the last four years.

From RotoBaller

Jun 5 11:00am ET

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said that linebacker Haason Reddick, who has been absent for voluntary organized team activities this offseason, should be in attendance for the team's mandatory minicamp next week. "We know he's working his tail off to get where he needs to get to to have a productive '24 season," Saleh said. The Jets acquired Reddick in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason, but he has yet to join his new team. The 29-year-old has expressed a desire for a new contract as he enters the final year of his current contract, so that's the most likely reason he hasn't reported to the Jets yet. When he is back on the field, Reddick will join an already strong Jets defense. Reddick has been a Pro Bowler each of the last two years with the Eagles, racking up 27 sacks in 34 regular-season games.
