2024 RTSports Outlook

Cooper had a good first season in Cleveland, finshing 10th overall in fantasy receiver scoring. He topped 1,100-receiving yards and scored nine touchdowns, which was a career high in scores. Cooper had six games with 20-plus fantasy points. He had five 100-yard games. Cooper is the top target in the Browns offense and will have Deshaun Watson as his starting quarterback from day one this season. Cooper has six 1,000-yard seasons for his career and has been as consistent as any receiver since entering the league. Cooper is the complete package at receiver. Cooper gets in and out of his breaks with great speed. He makes a lot of plays downfield but also can be a top possession receiver because of his great hands. He has good strength for the position but doesn't play overly physical. He lacked some consistency earlier in his career but has really improved in that area at this stage of his career. Fantasy Outlook:   Cooper might have a hard time being top 10 once again this year, but is a solid low-end No. 1 or 2 fantasy receiver. He will post consistent numbers and have some big games along the way. Look for around 90 receptions for 1,200 yards and double-digit touchdowns.

Player Notes
Feb 21 7:43pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper averaged 13.6 yards before the catch on his 72 receptions this past season, which led the NFL in that category.

From TheHuddle

Jan 14 8:00am ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper caught four of his five targets for 59 yards in a 45-14 loss to the Houston Texans in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday. Cooper was held in check just a few weeks after he shredded this very same Houston secondary for 265 receiving yards on Christmas Eve. The veteran receiver came into the game dealing with a heel injury that held him out of the previous two games and he did appear to be favoring it at times on the field on Saturday. Cooper remains under contract with the Browns for the 2024 season and will be returning as the team's No. 1 receiver after posting a career-high 1,250 receiving yards this past season.

From RotoBaller

Jan 13 8:53pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper posted four receptions for 65 yards in a 45-14 loss against the Houston Texans during Wild Card Weekend.

From TheHuddle

Jan 11 6:40pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (heel) is listed without an injury designation heading into his team's wild-card round road matchup against the Houston Texans. Cooper had a career day back when these two teams met in Week 16, popping off for 11 catches, 265 yards, and two touchdowns. He will look to repeat the performance on Saturday as the Browns try to advance in the playoffs. The Texans are likely to focus their efforts on slowing Cooper this weekend but the wideout and Joe Flacco have shown excellent rapport together this season, so their efforts may be in vain. Cooper is in play as a top-three DFS option at the receiver position this weekend.

From RotoBaller

Jan 11 6:10pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (heel) was able to practice in full on Thursday and was removed from the final injury report for Saturday's wild-card playoff game against the Houston Texans. Cooper didn't join the team for practice on Tuesday or Wednesday but said he probably could have played in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals. The 29-year-old was held out of the final two regular season contests after catching 11 passes for a franchise-record 265 receiving yards and two touchdowns against the Texans back in Week 16. Those that spend up on him in DFS will be hoping for an encore performance back in Houston for Cleveland's No. 1 wideout. It helps Cleveland's offense that Houston's defensive line is pretty beat up entering this rematch.

From RotoBaller

Jan 11 5:53pm ET

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (heel) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 11, and is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper should be able to handle his normal workload against the Houston Texans after a full practice Thursday. He has been the main option in the passing game for the Browns and should be a starting option in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 11 12:23pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (heel) returned to practice Thursday, Jan. 11.

Fantasy Spin: This is the first time Cooper has practiced this week, and he's expected to play in the wild-card game against the Houston Texans. He's a starting option for those participating in playoff leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 10 5:03pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (heel) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper is optimistic about his availability for the Wild Card playoff game, but fantasy players will need to keep an eye on the situation over the next few days. He should be a starting option in all leagues if active for the game.

From TheHuddle

Jan 10 12:10pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (heel), who missed the final two games of the regular season with a heel injury, said he's good to go for Saturday's wild-card playoff game against the Houston Texans. Cooper said he could have played in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals if he had to. The 29-year-old will be returning to Houston, where he set a franchise record with 265 receiving yards and two touchdowns in his last game played in Week 16. Understandably, Cooper's DraftKings price has fallen after sitting out the last two weeks, which could make him a DFS bargain if he's completely healthy. However, the Texans defense will surely be trying to prevent a repeat of Cooper's Week 16 record-breaking performance. One thing we know: Quarterback Joe Flacco is going to look Cooper's way plenty.

From RotoBaller

Jan 10 12:03pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (heel) said he's good to go for the AFC Wild Card game against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper also said he could have played in Week 18 if he had to. He'll be a WR3 option in playoff leagues this week.

From TheHuddle

Jan 9 7:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (rest, heel) did not take part in practice on Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Fantasy Spin: After not practicing once again on Tuesday, Cooper has now missed seven in a row and his status remains up in the air. The Browns wideout, who has missed the last two games, is a borderline WR1 if he plays.

From TheHuddle

Jan 9 2:40pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (rest/heel) is not practicing on Tuesday heading into the Wild Card matchup with the Houston Texans. The veteran is listed on the injury report with a heel injury, though he's also listed as a veteran rest player. Cooper hasn't played since the Week 16 meeting with Houston when he caught 11 passes for 265 yards and two touchdowns. It would be surprising if he sits out the first round of the playoffs, but DFS gamers and playoff fantasy managers should be glued to his practice status throughout the week. Needless to say, he has plenty of upside in his second game against the Texans.

From RotoBaller

Jan 7 11:43am ET

The Cleveland Browns have declared WR Amari Cooper, WR Marquise Goodwin, PK Dustin Hopkins, CB Mike Ford, CB Greg Newsome, DE Myles Garrett and S Juan Thornhill inactive for Week 18.

From TheHuddle

Jan 5 6:23pm ET

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (heel) did not participated in practice Friday, Jan. 5, and has been ruled out for Week 18.

Fantasy Spin: The Browns will be resting some of their starters, so Cedric Tillman and David Bell could see bigger roles in the passing game this week. Fantasy players probably should look for other options and can avoid the Browns receivers.

From TheHuddle

Jan 5 1:10pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (heel) has been ruled out for the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday versus the Cincinnati Bengals. Cooper will miss his second straight game to close out the regular season. With the Browns locked into the No. 5 seed in the AFC, they are choosing to rest some key players ahead of the wild-card round next week. The 29-year-old set a franchise record with 265 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the Week 16 win over the Houston Texans, but that will end up being his final game of the regular season. Receivers Elijah Moore (concussion) and Marquise Goodwin (knee) are questionable and could also be rested, so quarterback Jeff Driskel might be working with rookie Cedric Tillman, David Bell and James Proche II as his top receivers against the Bengals.

From RotoBaller

Jan 5 12:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (rest, heel) is not practicing Friday, Jan. 5.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper and the rest of the Browns starters are not expected to play this week considering they've already locked up a playoff spot. The majority of Browns players should be avoided this week.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 5:43pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (rest, heel) did not take part in practice once again on Thursday, Jan. 4.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper is expected to rest in Week 18 with the Browns having already punched their postseason ticket. And, with Joe Flacco not playing, either, it's best to avoid any and all Browns pass-catchers.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 5:33pm ET

Cleveland Browns OG Joel Bitonio (oblique, knee), WR Amari Cooper (rest, heel), CB Mike Ford (calf), S Duron Harmon (ankle), PK Dustin Hopkins (hamstring), CB Greg Newsome (knee), C Ethan Pocic (shoulder, stinger), LB Anthony Walker (knee), DE Shelby Harris (back) and LB Jordan Kunaszyk (calf) did not take part in practice on Thursday, Jan. 4. In addition, S Juan Thornhill (calf), WR Marquise Goodwin (knee), OG Wyatt Teller (ankle), DE Ogbo Okoronkwo (pectoral), TE David Njoku (rest, knee, illness), WR Elijah Moore (concussion), RB Kareem Hunt (groin) and P Corey Bojorquez (quadriceps) were limited and QB Joe Flacco (calf), DE Myles Garrett (shoulder) and CB Denzel Ward (shoulder) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 1:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (heel) missed a fifth straight practice on Thursday, Jan. 4.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper did not practice in Week 17, although Cleveland hardly did anything on a short week. The Browns opted to hold him out of that game against the New York Jets and appear likely to do the same versus the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18 to give Cooper the maximum amount of time to be ready for the team's Wild-Card Game next week, which should be against the winner of the AFC South.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 12:50pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (heel) is missing another day of practice on Thursday. Cooper set a franchise record with 265 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the Week 16 win over the Houston Texans and then missed last Thursday's win over the New York Jets due to a heel injury. The Browns are already locked into the No. 5 seed in the AFC for the playoffs, so even if Cooper is able to return to practice on Friday, it seems unlikely that they would risk a setback with his heel in a meaningless game against the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday. The Browns have already announced they'll be resting starting quarterback Joe Flacco. The 29-year-old is probably not going to be an option for anyone playing fantasy football in Week 18.
