Updating previous reports, free-agent DT Justin Jones (Bears), CB Sean Murphy-Bunting (Titans), DT Bilal Nichols (Raiders) and LB Mack Wilson (Patriots) officially signed with the Arizona Cardinals Thursday, March 14. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed, but earlier reports stated Jones signed a three-year, $30.1 million contract, Murphy-Bunting signed a three-year $25.5 million deal, Nichols signed a three-year, $21 million deal and Wilson signed a three-year, $12.75 million contract.

The Arizona Cardinals agreed to terms with free-agent cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting on an undisclosed deal on Monday, according to a source. The former second-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will now head to the desert to try and fortify a struggling defense after spending one year with the Tennessee Titans. Last year with Tennessee, Murphy-Bunting had 57 tackles (42 solo), two interceptions, eight passes defensed, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 14 starts. The Cardinals added to all levels of their defense on Monday as they look to bolster a defense that was routinely carved up by opposing quarterbacks last year. The 26-year-old Murphy-Bunting should be expected to start across from Garrett Williams in Arizona's secondary in 2024, but he won't really be on the IDP radar.

Former New England Patriots linebacker Mack Wilson agreed to terms with the Arizona Cardinals on Monday on a three-year, $12.75 million deal worth up to $15 million, according to a source. The Cardinals have been busy adding to their defense in free agency on Monday, also adding defensive tackles Justin Jones and Bilal Nichols. The 26-year-old Wilson was formerly a fifth-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2019 out of Alabama. After spending the first three years of his career with the Browns, he recorded 39 solo tackles, five sacks, six tackles for loss, six QB hits, four passes defensed and three forced fumbles in 34 games (four starts) for the Patriots the last two seasons combined. While Wilson will give Arizona more linebacking depth, he can be avoided for IDP fantasy purposes.

Former Las Vegas Raiders free-agent defensive tackle Bilal Nichols reached an agreement on Monday on a three-year, $21 million deal that includes $14.4 million guaranteed with the Arizona Cardinals, according to a source. The Cardinals also added defensive tackle Justin Jones in free agency on Monday, so the addition of both interior linemen will really shore up a weak spot in the middle of the defensive line for the Cardinals. The 27-year-old Nichols spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Chicago Bears before racking up 41 solo tackles, three sacks, eight tackles for loss, 13 QB hits and a fumble recovery for a touchdown in the last two seasons with the Raiders. Nichols can be ignored in IDP fantasy leagues, but he'll no doubt be a boost to Arizona's interior defensive line next season.

Free-agent defensive tackle Justin Jones agreed to terms with the Arizona Cardinals on Monday on a three-year, $30.1 million deal with $19.75 million guaranteed, according to a source. Jones, a former third-round pick by the Los Angeles Chargers in 2018 out of North Carolina State, just had the best two seasons of his career with the Chicago Bears in 2022-23 after playing his first four seasons in LA. The 27-year-old finished the 2023 campaign with 49 tackles (29 solo), a career-high 4.5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, 17 QB hits and four passes defensed in 17 starts. Jones earned more playing time in Chicago and should become an integral part of Arizona's interior defensive line moving forward, although he's not on the IDP fantasy radar.

In addition, RB Josh Jacobs (quadriceps, illness) did not practice and is questionable, WR DJ Turner (shoulder), TE Jesper Horsted (hamstring), CB Jack Jones (knee) and OT Kolton Miller (shoulder) were limited and are questionable, CB Brandon Facyson (shin) practiced in full but is questionable, DE Maxx Crosby (knee), C Andre James (ankle), and OG Dylan Parham (illness) were limited but carry no designation and OT Justin Herron (knee), LB Robert Spillane (illness) and DT Bilal Nichols (back) practiced in full and were removed from the injury report.

Arizona Cardinals S Budda Baker (illness) was added to the Week 15 injury report Sunday, Dec. 17, because of an illness and is listed as questionable.

From TheHuddle

Dec 17 10:10am ET

Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker (illness) was added to the injury report on Sunday morning. He's officially questionable to play against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15. With just six hours until the game starts, it appears that the safety's status is suddenly up in the air, though it's possible that this is strictly procedural and doesn't need to trigger any warning flags. Fans and managers concerned about Baker's availability should check back for confirmation on his status 90 minutes before kickoff.

Nov 12 8:20am ET

New England Patriots linebacker Ja'Whaun Bentley (hamstring) is listed as inactive for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts in Germany. He was limited in practice all week long and listed as questionable. However, it had seemed like he was trending toward playing, so this news comes as a bit of a surprise. Nevertheless, Bentley will sit out this overseas contest, putting Mack Wilson Sr. in line to earn more snaps.

Nov 5 4:33pm ET

Arizona Cardinals S Budda Baker totaled a team-high 10 stops, including four solo tackles, in the Week 9 game against the Cleveland Browns.

From TheHuddle

Nov 4 2:10am ET

The Arizona Cardinals' defense should not be counted on to produce meaningful fantasy statistics in Week 9. When it comes to stopping the pass, Arizona ranks 23rd in passing yards allowed, 25th in passing touchdowns allowed, and 28th in points allowed per game (26.6). Additionally, they've allowed more than 100 receiving yards to three players this season, and have allowed a touchdown pass to 10 players on year. Suffice it to say their passing defense is..not good. While the return of safety Budda Baker should help, so far it hasn't made much of a difference. Going up against a struggling but talented Cleveland passing attack, the Arizona defense is best left on the fantasy bench for Week 9.
