He last played for Pittsburgh on May 26 against the Atlanta Braves, when he sustained a left thumb injury.

During a six-game rehab assisgnment at Triple-A Indianapolis, Bart was 6-for-17 with a double and four RBIs.

The Pirates acquired Bart, 27, in an April 2 trade, sending right-hander Austin Strickland to the San Francisco Giants. The overall No. 2 draft pick in 2018 out of Georgia Tech, Bart failed to catch on with the Giants as Buster Posey's successor.

He appeared in 70 games last season for Pittsburgh, batting .251 with 11 doubles, one home run and 18 RBIs.
