The Los Angeles Angels announced on Monday that they recalled left-handed pitching prospect Sam Aldegheri from Double-A Rocket City. Aldegheri, the team's No. 5 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will make his return to the big leagues after debuting in 2024. The 23-year-old southpaw only made three starts for the Halos last year and allowed 12 runs (seven earned) on 15 hits (two homers allowed) while walking 10 and striking out 10 in 13 innings of work. The Italian hurler gets the call after going 2-2 with a 4.34 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 48:27 K:BB in 47 2/3 innings over his nine starts at Rocket City this year. The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder has an intriguing four-pitch mix and has the ability to generate plenty of swings and misses, but he'll need to show much better control of his arsenal to have sustained success in the big leagues. It's unclear what role Aldegheri will have with the Angels now that he's back in the big leagues.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (hand) is back in the team's starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the division-rival Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Brady Singer at Great American Ball Park, serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup. X-rays came back negative on Yelich's right hand after he was hit by a pitch on Sunday against the Philadelphia Phillies, and he'll be back a day after leaving the game early. Fantasy managers are hoping that his hand injury won't affect the way he's been swinging the bat of late. The 33-year-old former MVP and three-time All-Star is currently riding an eight-game hitting streak in which he's batting .472 (17-for-36) with five home runs, a double, 13 RBI, two steals and 10 runs scored. Yelich needs to be returned to all starting fantasy lineups. In six career at-bats versus Singer, he's hitting .167 with an RBI.

The Los Angeles Angels announced on Monday that they placed infielder Yoan Moncada (knee) on the 10-day injured list with right-knee inflammation. In other moves, the Angels placed right-handed reliever Robert Stephenson (biceps) on the 15-day IL (retroactive to May 31) with right-biceps inflammation and recalled outfielder Matthew Lugo from Triple-A Salt Lake and left-hander Sam Aldegheri from Double-A Rocket City. Moncada returned on Saturday against the Guardians after missing one game with a sore knee, but he was also out on Sunday and is now back on the IL. The 30-year-old Cuban switch-hitter still has some pop in his bat, but he's completely unreliable in deep fantasy leagues for his inability to stay healthy. With Moncada on the IL again this year, Luis Rengifo will likely see most of the action at the hot corner in Anaheim.

Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop/outfield prospect Konnor Griffin continues to get it done at the plate and wreak havoc on the basepaths for Single-A Bradenton. The ninth-overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft went 3-for-6 with three walks in nine plate appearances in two games over the weekend, driving in two runs and scoring twice while stealing four bases. The 19-year-old has eight steals over his last eight games and has tallied 25 steals on the year through 45 games, while getting his slash line to .310/.371/.511. At this rate, High-A should be just around the corner, and the 6-foot-4 slugger looks like he could be a very fast riser through the Pittsburgh system.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Phillies outfield prospect Justin Crawford continues to impress at Triple-A, notching his second consecutive three-hit game for Lehigh Valley on Sunday, driving in four runs and scoring twice in the process. The21-year-old also swiped a bag, the third straight game he's done so. The formerfirst-round draft pick is slashing .338/.407/.438 through 49 games, and although he's got just one home run, the left-handed hitter has 11 doubles and three triples on the season, so the ability to hit for extra bases is in his bat. Perhaps his best tool is his speed, though, now with 20 steals on the season after stealing at least 42 bases in each of the last two campaigns. Crawford could be up in the big leagues by the All-Star break, and fantasy managers in need of some help in the stolen base department should start to consider stashing the Phils' third-ranked prospect, as once he's up, he could be there to stay.
From RotoBaller
Chicago White Sox catching prospect Kyle Teel has reportedly been getting practice reps at first base in an effort to add to his positional versatility, which should provide multiple paths to the majors and playing time once he gets there. The team just got Korey Lee back from the IL, and while he doesn't add much with the bat, he gets rave reviews for his defense and game-calling ability. The Sox also promoted Edgar Quero earlier this season, who has acquitted himself well at the plate thus far. First baseman and former third-overall draft pick Andrew Vaughn hasn't panned out, and after getting off to a terrible start this year, was consequently optioned to Triple-A on May 23, which has provided an opportunity for someone to fill that gap. Teel hit safely in 28 of 30 games, batting .345 with seven doubles and five home runs from April 13 to May 27 before cooling off over his last four games. The 23-year-old should be up by mid-season and is one of the top prospect stashes. If he gets added first-base eligibility, it would make him even more appealing for fantasy.
From RotoBaller
Tampa Bay Rays shortstop prospect Carson Williams went 3-for-5 with a double, a solo home run, and three runs scored on Sunday for Triple-A Durham. Hopefully this performance gets him going, as it has been a challenging start to the season for the 21-year-old. The former first-round draft pick homered twice on May 7, but that was followed by a 4-for-36 (.111) stretch before hitting another homer on May 21, which was then followed by a 3-for-26 (.115) stretch before Sunday's three-hit game. Sunday's home run came off the bat at 101.8 mph, and the double was hit even harder at 107.6, so he can still make loud contact, but contact has been the problem, as the 6-foot-2 slugger owns an 18.5 percent swinging-strike rate and an ugly 37.4 percent strikeout rate thus far. With Ha-Seong Kim on the verge of returning, the big league club doesn't need to rush Williams, but they'll surely hope he gets things going, as he was projected to be the shortstop of the future, and is currently the author of a .185/.284/.370 slash line on the year.
From RotoBaller
Washington Nationals shortstop prospect Seaver King is getting promoted to Double-A Harrisburg after putting up a .263/.307/.380 slash line through 45 games at High-A this season. While those numbers don't jump off the page, the 2024 first-round draft pick was hitting much better as of late, going 20-for-59 (.339) with two doubles, a triple, a home run, and five stolen bases over the last 14 games. The Nats' fourth-ranked prospect doesn't offer much in the way of power, but can hit and run, with 12 steals so far in 2025. If he continues to hit and progress, a late-2026 MLB debut could be in the cards, but don't expect him to be a full-time regular until 2027.

Houston Astros outfielder Taylor Trammell (calf) will start his minor-league rehab assignment at the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Tuesday. Trammell is finally ready to start playing in games again after missing all of the season to this point with a strained right calf. The 27-year-old former first-rounder by the Cincinnati Reds in 2016 spent the 2024 season with the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees but appeared in just 10 games, going 1-for-7 with a walk and three strikeouts. Trammell will most likely require a month-long rehab assignment, and there's a good bet he'll be sent back to the minors when he's fully healthy. So far in four big-league seasons, Trammell has looked thoroughly overmatched at the plate, slashing .167/.270/.363 with 15 homers, 39 RBI, four steals and 133 strikeouts in 359 plate appearances.

New York Mets outfielder Jose Siri (leg) still hasn't gotten to 100 percent in his running progression, according to The Athletic's Tim Britton. Manager Carlos Mendoza said that Siri wasn't all that close to returning last week. Siri continues to rehab from a fractured left tibia that he suffered on April 12. Although he's doing some running and was able to take batting practice last week, the 29-year-old's return from the injured list remains up in the air. When he does return to the big-league roster, he'll be in a part-time role in center field, at best, with Tyrone Taylor. The Dominican outfielder is more of a glove-first outfielder and had gone just 1-for-20 with an RBI and two stolen bases in his first 10 games for the Mets this year before getting injured.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Phillies top prospect Andrew Painter is progressing as planned at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, but manager Rob Thomson said it's unlikely that the 22-year-old right-hander will make his MLB debut until the second half of the 2025 season. In his four starts with the Iron Pigs, Painter has a 2.65 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 17 innings, and his fastball is sitting around 97 mph while topping out at 100 mph. His recovery from Tommy John surgery has been great. The Phillies plan to use the All-Star break (July 14-17) to let Painter rest and recharge. It's possible that Painter makes his debut in late July, but the Phillies are keeping their options open and aren't committing to anything. He's thrown a total of 28 1/3 innings in the minors this year, and the plan all along was to delay his progression this spring so that he will have innings left to help the team down the stretch. Painter is the No. 2 pitching prospect in baseball, per MLB Pipeline.

The Kansas City Royals announced on Monday that they optioned outfielder Dairon Blanco to Triple-A Omaha to make room for outfield/first base prospect Jac Caglianone. Blanco will get sent back to the farm after going just 1-for-6 with an RBI, two runs scored and three stolen bases for the Royals in just nine games played this year. The 32-year-old veteran was recently activated from a stint on the injured list on May 16. The Cuban outfielder made his debut in the big leagues with the Royals in 2022 and has hit .257/.312/.416 with seven home runs, 34 RBI, 59 stolen bases and 59 runs scored in 171 games for the Royals since. Speed is his biggest attraction in fantasy after stealing a combined 55 bags in 2023 and 2024 for KC. If Blanco makes it back to the majors this year, he'll serve as outfield depth off the bench.

The Athletic's Dennis Lin writes that San Diego Padres right-hander Michael King (shoulder) has begun playing light catch and has reported incremental improvement in his shoulder, but team officials have cautioned that the pinched nerve in question will dictate his timetable for a return. King, who has been SD's No. 1 starter this year, woke up on May 24 with discomfort in his shoulder and is currently on the 15-day injured list. The 30-year-old veteran is optimistic that he'll return in weeks instead of months, but fantasy managers are probably going to need to stay patient and keep him stashed until we have a better idea of when he might be back in the Friars' starting rotation. Before his injury, King was SD's most reliable starter, going 4-2 with a 2.59 ERA and 1.02 WHIP with 64 strikeouts and 17 walks in 55 2/3 innings over 10 starts in his second year with the team.
From RotoBaller
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser (thumb) went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, one run scored and a strikeout out of the leadoff spot in a minor-league rehab game with Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday. Interim manager Tony Mansolino said last Friday that Cowser is expected to come off the 60-day injured list to rejoin the team during their upcoming road trip that starts on Tuesday against the Mariners in Seattle. The 25-year-old left-handed-hitting outfielder only played in four games in 2025 before fracturing his thumb, but he's on the cusp of a return and should be picked up off the waiver wire immediately if he's available in your league. Cowser will be a starter for Baltimore, at least against right-handed pitchers, after hitting .242/.321/.447 with a .768 OPS, 24 home runs, 69 RBI and nine stolen bases in 153 games in his first full MLB season in 2024.
From RotoBaller
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Daulton Varsho (hamstring) is on the 10-day injured list with a Grade 1 left-hamstring strain, according to manager John Schneider, and he's being evaluated on a week-to-week basis. MLB.com's Keegan Matheson writes that we'll see a lot of Nathan Lukes and Myles Straw in center field for the Jays with Varsho out, and Schneider wants to see that group, as well as Alan Roden and Jonatan Clase, step up with Varsho sidelined. The 28-year-old Varsho got a late start to the year after having offseason shoulder surgery, and now he's back on the injured list again. He hit just .207 (19-for-92) after a late season debut, but it was encouraging to see Varsho hit eight home runs in his first 24 games after hitting 18 in 136 contests a year ago. He's not a lock to return when eligible on June 11, but Varsho should be stashed in all fantasy formats while he recovers.
From RotoBaller
Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Addison Barger went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 8-4 win against the Athletics. The 25-year-old stepped to the dish with his team down two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and promptly deposited a first-pitch Justin Sterner fastball 412 feet over the right-field wall. It gave the Blue Jays a 5-4 lead and would spark a massive six-run outburst. That marks three straight appearances with a homer for him, notching at least one hit in five straight. The streak has him up to five long balls on the year, and a solid .267 batting average (32-for-120) in 38 games. Despite the middling statistics, Barger boasts a fantastic .306 xBA, and has vastly outproduced the average exit velocity (95.1 MPH) and hard-hit rate (55.9%) figures he sported in 2024.
From RotoBaller
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Andres Gimenez (quadriceps) and catcher Tyler Heineman (concussion) are on track to come off the injured list to rejoin the big-league club on Tuesday before their series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies. Neither Gimenez nor Heineman move the needle much in fantasy, but they will be much-needed reinforcements for a banged-up Blue Jays team early in June. Gimenez, 26, has been out since May 9 with a strained right quadriceps, and he should return to starting duties at the keystone this week. He went 2-for-12 in four minor-league rehab games with Single-A Dunedin and will be returning to a .195/.273/.305 slash line with three home runs, 10 RBI, 17 runs scored and nine stolen bases. Gimenez is really only attractive in fantasy for his speed in deep-mixed and AL-only leagues.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs. The dynamic infielder also singled, scored twice, and drew a walk. De La Cruz blasted a Jameson Taillon offering 423 feet to right field in the top of the sixth inning, leaving the bat at a whopping 117.4 MPH to notch homer No. 12 on the year. He's been superb over his last nine outings, batting a red-hot .343 (12-for-35) with two doubles, four long balls, nine RBI, 13 runs scored, and one steal. The 23-year-old appears to be well on his way to surpassing the career-best 25 homers he set in 2024, though he may not reach the lofty steal total he set a season ago. Still, he's undoubtedly been worth the price fantasy managers paid for him this offseason.
From RotoBaller
Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Oneil Cruz went 0-for-2 with two steals and a run scored in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the San Diego Padres. He added two strikeouts and walked thrice. Cruz experienced trouble putting the ball in play, but he still impacted the base paths -- notching steals No. 19 and No. 20 in 2025. It broke a ten-game streak for him without a swipe, which was the longest of the season. The Dominican Republic native is still striking out at an elevated rate (32.6%). However, he's hitting the ball harder than ever -- sporting career-highs in average exit velocity (97.3 MPH), hard-hit percentage (61.4%), and barrel rate (24.6%). All three of those figures give him the top marks in the MLB.
From RotoBaller
New York Yankees first baseman Ben Rice went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in his team's 7-3 win against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also walked and struck out twice. The Massachusetts native gave his team a 3-1 lead in the top of the third inning when he blasted a Yoshinobu Yamamoto splitter 425 feet over the wall in right-center field, scoring teammate Aaron Judge. It was the twelfth time he's gone yard in 2025. Rice has cooled off quite a bit since an early-season hot streak, but he's still been productive -- recording at least one hit in five of his last six appearances. The Dartmouth alum has taken massive steps forward regarding average exit velocity (94.6 MPH) and hard-hit rate (57.9%) this season and has already recorded the hardest-hit ball of his career. Despite a .250 batting line through 51 games, he boasts an excellent .293 xBA.
