Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Brice Turang (knee) is missing a third straight game in Sunday's series finale on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to MLB.com. Jonathan Ornelas will make a second straight start at the keystone for the Brew Crew against Dodgers left-hander Tarik Skubal. If Turang continues to miss time with left-knee discomfort, he could be a candidate to be placed on the injured list next week. The Brewers have a scheduled day off on Monday before starting a series on Tuesday in Milwaukee against the Seattle Mariners, so fantasy managers will want to check back on Turang's status then. When healthy, the 26-year-old former first-rounder is a must-start in all traditional fantasy baseball leagues as one of the most consistent power/speed threats at second base. Turang is having a second straight strong season in 2026, hitting .268/.360/.450 with an .810 OPS, 16 round-trippers, 16 stolen bases, 76 RBI, and 74 runs scored in 451 at-bats. He's tied for sixth among second basemen in homers and is second in RBI, behind only the Pittsburgh Pirates' Brandon Lowe.

Colorado Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman (shoulder) will not start in Sunday's series finale against the division-rival San Francisco Giants after being scratched from Saturday's lineup with inflammation in his left shoulder, per MLB.com. Brett Sullivan is doing the catching for right-hander Gabriel Hughes and will bat eighth against Giants right-hander Blade Tidwell. Goodman, who has become one of the best slugging backstops in all of baseball in the last two years, should be considered day-to-day for now. His next chance to play will be in Monday's series opener at Coors Field against the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers. Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson (finger) is starting at the 6 and is batting third for Sunday's series finale at Sutter Health Park against the division-rival Texas Rangers and left-hander Cody Bradford, according to MLB.com. The A's held Wilson out of their game on Saturday against Texas after he developed swelling and stiffness in his left pinky finger after he was hit by a pitch on Friday. The contact-oriented Wilson has not been a picture of health in 2026, which could be a big part of the reason why he hasn't been as productive offensively in his second full season in the big leagues. The former first-rounder from Grand Canyon University enters the contest on Sunday in Sacramento with a .269/.301/.392 slash line, a .694 OPS, seven home runs, 37 RBI, 37 runs scored, and four stolen bases in 79 games across 333 plate appearances. Wilson hit over .300 in 2025 as a first-time All-Star, but he also had only 13 homers, 63 RBI, and five runs scored in 125 games. Wilson has gone hitless against Bradford in just four career at-bats.

San Francisco Giants shortstop Willy Adames (back) remains on the bench for Sunday's series finale in San Fran against the division-rival Colorado Rockies, per MLB.com. Christian Koss is making another start at shortstop and will bat out of the nine-hole against Rockies right-hander Gabriel Hughes. Adames aggravated an ongoing lower-back injury in Wednesday's game against the Houston Astros and will miss a third straight game on Sunday. If Adames cannot return to action early next week, the Giants may be forced to place him on the 10-day injured list. The 30-year-old Dominican shortstop is sitting at 19 home runs in 116 total games in 2026 after hitting 62 long balls in each of his last two seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers and the Giants. The power is still there, but Adames is hitting a weak .224 (100-for-446) with a career-worst .285 on-base percentage in 485 plate appearances in his ninth year in the major leagues. With the second-worst record in the National League (ahead of only Colorado), the Gigantes don't have any incentive to rush Adames back into the lineup.

The Athletics announced on Sunday that they placed first baseman/outfielder Tyler Soderstrom (hip) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Aug. 15) with a left-hip impingement and recalled infielder Darell Hernaiz from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. The 24-year-old left-handed slugger won't be eligible to return from the IL until Aug. 25, but fantasy managers shouldn't necessarily expect him to return to the A's roster by then with the team in last place and well out of playoff contention in 2026. Soderstrom broke out at the plate in 2025 in his first full season in the big leagues, slashing .276/.346/.474 with an .820 OPS, 25 home runs, 93 RBI, 75 runs scored, and eight stolen bases in 158 games played across 624 plate appearances. He hasn't been quite as dominant in 2026, but he's still enough of a power threat in a hitter-friendly home environment to be a must-start in most fantasy baseball leagues when he's active. Soderstrom hits the shelf with a current .245/.338/.472 slash line with an .810 OPS, 19 homers, 56 RBI, and 58 runs scored in 109 games in his fourth year in the majors.

St. Louis Cardinals pitching prospect Quinn Mathews got one start for St. Louis this season before being called back down to Triple-A Memphis. In two starts back with Memphis, Mathews has allowed four earned runs in seven innings pitched with nine combined strikeouts in the two starts. In his lone big-league start, Mathews took a hard-luck loss to the Toronto Blue Jays with two earned runs in five innings pitched. Mathews has looked sharp all year long in the minors for Memphis and the left-hander is the No. 8 prospect for St. Louis with a 60-grade slider and changeup in his four-pitch mix. The Cardinals rotation is very young so Mathews will look for another shot at the MLB level. He is worth holding onto in redraft leagues because he does have good strikeout potential with a strong four-pitch arsenal.

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said on Sunday that outfielder Cody Bellinger (hamstring) is scheduled to play in minor-league rehab games on Tuesday and Thursday, likely with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and he could be activated from the 10-day injured list by next weekend, according to Erik Boland of Newsday Sports. The Yankees are desperate for more offense, so Bellinger will be a welcome addition to the lineup with both Aaron Judge (rib) and Giancarlo Stanton (calf) still on the shelf. When he returns from the IL, Bellinger will be coming back to a .259/.350/.420 slash line with a .770 OPS, 11 home runs, 53 RBI, 10 stolen bases, and 52 runs scored in his 102 games and 434 plate appearances. The three-time All-Star belted 29 homers and drove in 98 runs in 152 regular-season games last year with New York.

In nine games with his new squad, the Triple-A Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, Miami Marlins prospect Jonathon Long is 9-for-25 (.360) at the plate with three RBI and 11 runs scored. The right-handed hitting third base/first base prospect was traded from the Chicago Cubs organization to the Marlins. He started at Triple-A Iowa with 12 homers and 62 RBI in 99 games with a .283 average and 67 runs scored. Long slots in at the No. 19 prospect in the Marlins system but he might have a clearer path to the majors than he did with the Cubs. The Marlins are playing Javier Sanoja at third base and now have Kyle Stowers on the IL at first base. So there looks to be an opportunity for Long to make his big-league debut. If he does, he would be a solid bat for fantasy managers down the stretch.

Seattle Mariners middle-infield prospect Michael Arroyo has fared well at Triple-A Tacoma since his promotion and could be next in line for a call-up to Seattle, following in the footsteps of Tacoma teammate Brock Rodden. Arroyo has played in 31 games for Tacoma this season and has six homers and 27 RBI while hitting .295. Arroyo, the right-handed hitter out of Colombia, is the No. 3 prospect on the Mariners list. The infielder has a balanced profile with a 55-grade hit tool and power with 50-grade speed. At age 21, he could be ready for his next step to the majors but might need a little more time at Triple-A. Nonetheless, he is looking like a good stash candidate and one that could reward fantasy managers with five-category production given an opportunity to make his MLB debut.

Texas Rangers right-hander Jacob deGrom (triceps) got favorable results from an MRI exam on a right-triceps injury that forced him from his last start on Thursday against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels, according to Theo DeRosa of MLB.com. However, manager Skip Schumaker wasn't overly optimistic when asked about deGrom's chances to start on time against the Washington Nationals at Globe Life Field on Wednesday. "I guess it's possible," Schumaker said. "I don't know how realistic it is, but I think it's always possible. We haven't ruled it out completely." After missing nearly all of 2023 and 2024 after having Tommy John surgery, deGrom hasn't needed a stint on the injured list since. He was an All-Star in 2025 and has posted a 3.95 ERA in 23 starts in 2026. The 15-year veteran felt better on Saturday, but he has yet to resume playing catch, which makes it more unlikely he will start on Wednesday. deGrom is still rostered in almost 100% of Yahoo leagues, but he'll be riskier as a fantasy starter whenever he toes the rubber again.

Minnesota Twins top prospect Walker Jenkins has had a red-hot month of August at Triple-A St. Paul and is looking like the next call-up prospect for the Twins after Kaelen Culpepper. Jenkins is hitting .381 this month with three homers and five RBI in 42 at bats. That has raised his overall batting average between three minor league levels to .306 this season with nine homers and 23 RBI in 65 at bats. The left-handed hitting stud prospect missed a large amount of time this season with a Grade 2 AC joint sprain in his left shoulder. But now that he is back, he is one of the top hitting prospects to stash in redraft leagues for the rest of the season. It is likely he will join Culpepper in getting a shot an MLB debut and when he does he will showcase his 60-grade hit tool and 60-grade power.

Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner (knee) is out of the team's starting lineup for Sunday's series finale in Minnesota against the Twins, according to MLB.com. Turner fouled a ball off himself in Saturday's contest against the Twins and is dealing with a right-knee/ankle contusion. The good news is that he didn't require any X-rays following Saturday's game and appeared to be walking around fine in the clubhouse. The veteran shortstop expects to be fine and should be back in action for Monday's series opener at home against the division-rival Miami Marlins. Edmundo Sosa will start at the 6 on Sunday and will bat ninth against Twins right-hander Dean Kremer. Turner is currently slashing .247/.298/.398 with a .696 OPS, 17 home runs, 47 RBI, 17 stolen bases, and 82 runs scored in 120 games played across 533 plate appearances in 2026 in his 12th year in the big leagues. The three-time All-Star still has decent pop, but he's not running nearly as much and has shown plenty of signs of offensive decline as he nears the back end of his career.

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte (knee) is starting at second base and batting cleanup for the Snakes in Sunday's series finale in Atlanta against Braves right-hander Bryce Elder, according to D-backs reporter Jody Jackson.
