Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (foot) and his camp "would prefer" that the team cut him so that he can enter free agency, a league source told Ralph Vacchiano and Henry McKenna of FOX Sports. Murray and his representation are expected to meet this week in Indianapolis during the NFL's scouting combine, but they don't expect an answer on his future with the organization. Even though he didn't play in 2025 after suffering a foot injury in Week 5, the 28-year-old signal-caller should be one of the most coveted QBs on the open market. According to a team source, the Cardinals have grown "frustrated" with Murray, and there continue to be questions about his work ethic. Additionally, Arizona is worried Murray will never reach the level of play he had before his ACL tear in 2022, especially after he suffered a sprained foot last season that cost him 12 games. His mobility is "shot," according to a source, and fantasy managers should be pretty concerned about that, too, since most of Murray's appeal comes from his mobility and athleticism outside of the pocket. Arizona prefers to trade him, as he still has two years left on his five-year, $230 million contract.

The Atlanta Falcons informed former Pro Bowl special teams player KhaDarel Hodge (shoulder) that he will be released, a source told Marc Raimondi of ESPN. The 31-year-old veteran wide receiver appeared in 12 games in 2025 in his fourth year in Atlanta and caught just three passes on 10 targets for 31 yards and no touchdowns on offense. Hodge finished the season on Injured Reserve due to a shoulder injury, but he should be good to go for the start of next season this fall. Regardless of where Hodge lands in free agency, the former undrafted free agent won't be on the fantasy football radar and will most likely contribute more on special teams as a kick returner. In Hodge's eight NFL seasons with four different teams, he's never gone over 232 receiving yards, one touchdown, or 14 receptions.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said that wide receiver/kick returner Tory Horton (shin, groin), who missed the entire second half of his rookie campaign last year, will not "do anything in the spring," according to Brady Henderson of ESPN. The 23-year-old fifth-rounder out of Colorado State was starting to see a bit more usage in the offense at the time of his injury, and he scored five times in eight games, but he caught just 13 passes on 22 targets for 161 yards as a wideout. Horton underwent surgery for his lower-body injuries, but he should have enough time to recover to be ready for Week 1 of the 2026 regular season this fall. In addition to his five TDs as a receiver, Horton returned a punt for a touchdown on special teams. He appears to have a nose for the end zone, but going into Year 2, Horton probably won't be on the fantasy radar for managers in standard 12-team leagues.

The Chicago Bears have granted permission for linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to seek a trade this offseason, a league source told Brad Biggs of The Chicago Tribune. Edmunds is under contract through the 2026 season at $15 million after he signed a four-year, $72 million contract with the team in May of 2023. He's still young at 27 years old and was playing at a Pro Bowl caliber in 10 games before suffering a minor injury. Despite playing in a career-low 13 games in his third season in Chicago, the former 16th overall pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2018 out of Virginia Tech led the Bears with 112 tackles (61 solo). He also had one sack, a career-high four interceptions, nine pass breakups, and a forced fumble in the regular season. If Edmunds reaches the open market, he'll be one of the better linebackers available and should sign quickly.

ESPN's Dan Graziano writes that there hasn't been an indication that the Jacksonville Jaguars are planning to trade wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. this offseason, but there "are teams monitoring the situation" in case the former first-rounder has fallen far enough down their depth chart that the "front office would consider a move." The 23-year-old LSU product was a draft choice of the previous administration two years ago and still has two more years for a total of $4.9 million on his contract, plus a fifth-year team option for 2028. Thomas was excellent in 2024, posting an 87-1,282-10 line in 17 regular-season games, but he regressed in 2025 and finished with 48 catches for 707 yards and only two TDs in 14 regular-season games. The Jags traded for Jakobi Meyers and then signed him to a long-term deal, and Parker Washington also broke out. Thomas finished in more of a WR3 field-stretching role last year, and the best chances of him returning to his rookie form might be with a change of scenery.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said that running back Zach Charbonnet (knee) doesn't have a timetable for a return after undergoing surgery last weekend to fix the torn ACL in his knee that he suffered in the Divisional Round win over the San Francisco 49ers in the playoffs, according to Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune. The typical recovery time for reconstructive knee surgery for ACL tears is eight to 12 months. Seattle doesn't know exactly when Charb might be back in 2026, but Macdonald said the team is "more optimistic than it was initially." The 25-year-old took on a bigger role next to Kenneth Walker III during the 2025 regular season and led the team with 12 rushing touchdowns, the fifth-most in the NFL. He was the first Seahawk with double-digit TDs since Marshawn Lynch in 2014. Baltimore Ravens running back Justice Hill had his 2025 season cut short due to a neck injury that sent him to the Injured Reserve after Week 12. Before his injury, Hill was averaging a 37% snap share, but was on the field for 75% of third-down plays, and was the Ravens' change-of-pace back. Sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter that the Carolina Panthers have been receiving calls about quarterback Andy Dalton for a potential trade. The veteran play-caller is heading into his 16th year in the league and was a serviceable backup during fellow quarterback Bryce Young's development since 2023. Before his stint in Carolina, Dalton was a streaming quarterback option during the 2022 season with the New Orleans Saints, with two top-10 finishes and double-digit fantasy points in nine of his 12 starts. Depending on his landing spot, Dalton holds value in two-quarterback or superflex dynasty leagues as a stash if he finds himself in a starting position once again. Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave is heading into the fourth year of his rookie contract and failed to take advantage of starting opportunities in 2025 after fellow tight end Tucker Kraft (knee) went down for the season in Week 9. From Week 10 on, Musgrave saw just a 47% snap share and averaged only 2.3 targets per game. Washington Commanders wide receiver Jaylin Lane ended his rookie season on Injured Reserve due to an ankle injury, but flashed promise at times during the 2025 season. The young receiver out of Virginia Tech played behind veteran wide receivers Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel Sr. for the majority of his debut season, tallying just 225 yards on 16 catches. However, Deebo is set to hit free agency in March, which opens the door for Lane to compete for the team's second option at wide receiver. Lane was primarily an intermediate-to-deep threat who averaged 14.7 air yards per target over his 15 games played, and is an intriguing option for deep-league fantasy managers looking for volatility in the late rounds. For dynasty managers, Lane remains a good stash player with upside on a promising offense.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown opened the 2025 season with a bang, hauling in 10 catches for 99 yards on 16 targets in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers. However, the 28-year-old was not able to maintain his hot start and saw his role in the Chiefs' offense gradually fade over the course of the season. Across 16 games overall, Brown recorded 49 receptions for 587 yards and five touchdowns on 74 targets. Heading into his age-29 season, Brown is now set to hit unrestricted free agency. After being acquired by the New York Jets from the Indianapolis Colts at the 2025 trade deadline, wide receiver Adonai Mitchell saw the best opportunity for consistent playing time of his young career. The 23-year-old recorded 32 receptions for 464 yards and zero touchdowns across the first 25 games of his career with the Colts. Across eight games with the Jets after the trade, Mitchell hauled in 24 catches for 301 yards and two scores. Mitchell played at least 80% of New York's offensive snaps in six of his eight contests, and he averaged over seven targets per game. In 2026, the Jets will welcome back star wideout Garrett Wilson (knee) from the knee injury that ended his 2025 season prematurely. New Las Vegas Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak said that the team is "trying to see every possible avenue we can go next year at quarterback" and that incumbent quarterback Geno Smith is "definitely one of those options." Smith battled through a miserable season in his first year with the Raiders in 2025. Across 15 starts, the 35-year-old completed 67.4% of his pass attempts for 3,025 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions. The Raiders went 2-13 in Smith's starts, and Las Vegas fired former head coach Pete Caroll at the conclusion of the year. Smith is just one year removed from throwing for over 4,300 yards with the Seattle Seahawks in 2024, and he made back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances in 2022 and 2023. He could have more in the tank in a more favorable offensive environment than the one he experienced in 2025. However, the Raiders are widely expected to select University of Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the number one overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. If that happens, Smith would likely profile as a temporary starter in Las Vegas at best, if he even remains on the team's roster.

New Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken said Wednesday that he thinks the team's starting quarterback job is "an open competition" and said he "doesn't know why it wouldn't be" when questioned by the media, per Zac Jackson of The Athletic. Jackson reports that Monken said he sees "elite playmaking ability" in Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, but remained noncommittal about Sanders' status as the QB1 favorite. As a rookie in 2025, Sanders completed 56.6% of his pass attempts for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions across eight games (seven starts). While Sanders could very well open 2026 as the starter in Cleveland, it appears as though the team is leaving the door open to the possibility of bringing in another quarterback over the offseason or simply staging more internal competition.

Across 15 games in 2025, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver KaVontae Turpin hauled in 26 receptions for 396 yards and two touchdowns on 38 targets. After logging a career-high 52 targets in 2024, Turpin fell back into a gadget role in the Cowboys' offense in 2025 behind wideouts CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Ryan Flournoy. Turpin brings some fantasy upside with his rushing ability, as he's racked up 308 yards and a touchdown on 47 career carries. However, he's yet to hit 20 rush attempts in a season, so his ability to bolster his production for fantasy managers is limited. The Cowboys could be headed for a contractual standoff with Pickens this offseason, which could throw their wide receiver room into flux to some degree. Still, assuming Pickens is eventually brought back, Turpin will likely remain buried on the team's depth chart in 2026.

Three years into his NFL career, Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has established himself as arguably the best all-around player at his position in the NFL. Across 17 games played in 2025, Robinson recorded a league-leading 2,298 scrimmage yards and 11 touchdowns on 366 touches. He made big strides as a receiver out of the backfield this past season. After failing to crack 500 receiving yards in either of his first two seasons, Robinson hauled in 79 catches for 820 yards on 103 targets in 2025. Falcons RB2 Tyler Allgeier is now set to hit free agency, which could mean Robinson is in line for more short-yardage and goal-line opportunities in 2026. Even if Allgeier returns or Atlanta brings in another back, the team's willingness to rotate running backs could be a positive for Robinson overall. He's yet to miss a game to this point in his NFL career. At just 24 years old, Robinson should have a long window of production ahead of him and profiles as a worthy 1.01 player across all fantasy formats heading into 2026.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni thinks running back Saquon Barkley will "be exceptional" in the new offensive system in 2026, according to Zach Berman and Brooks Kubena of The Athletic. Barkley had a down year by his standards in 2025, coming off a season in which he led the league in carries (345), rushing yards (2,005), and rushing yards per game (125.3). The 29-year-old had 1,140 yards and seven touchdowns on 280 rushing attempts in 16 regular-season games last year, when the Eagles had lows in yards per rush (4.2), average yards before contact (1.52), total rush EPA (minus-24.81), and rush-success rate (39.1) under Sirianni. The new offensive staff under Sirianni, led by offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, is expected to install "more zone-blocking concepts" that originate from the Shanahan tree. Barkley should still be considered an RB1 in fantasy despite his down 2025 season, and a bounce-back could be coming if he stays healthy.

Carolina Panthers general manager Dan Morgan said on Tuesday that running back Jonathon Brooks (knee) is "making a lot of progress" in his rehab from the torn right ACL that he suffered in December of 2024, according to Darin Gantt of Panthers.com. The Panthers are cautiously optimistic that Brooks will be able to contribute to their backfield in 2026 after he appeared in just three games in his two NFL seasons due to multiple ACL tears. The 22-year-old could have a path to being Carolina's RB2 behind Chuba Hubbard next season, too, if Rico Dowdle departs in free agency. Brooks, a former second-rounder in 2024 out of the University of Texas, will need to prove he still has the same pre-injury explosiveness, and the Panthers will undoubtedly ease him back in when he returns to the field. Brooks will be a big question mark going into the 2026 season.
