New York Jets tight end Tyler Conklin caught five of his six targets for 93 yards in a 24-3 win over the New England Patriots in Week 3's Thursday night game. Conklin wound up leading the Jets in receiving yards while finishing second in targets and tying for first in receptions. It was an unexpected spike week for Conklin, who came into Week 3 with just two catches for 16 yards through the first two weeks of the season. Conklin will now be worth a look as a waiver add ahead of Week 4's home matchup against the Denver Broncos.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein made one of his two field goal attempts and added three extra points in a 24-3 win over the New England Patriots in Week 3. Zuerlein hit a 28-yard field goal in the fourth quarter but missed on a 45-yard attempt shortly before halftime. The veteran kicker has now made two of three field goals and all seven of his extra points through three games. Zuerlein will now have a few extra days to rest ahead of a Week 4 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
From RotoBaller
The New York Jets defense was excellent in a 24-3 win over the New England Patriots in Week 3. They held New England to just one field goal on only 139 yards of total offense while notching seven sacks and forcing one turnover in the Thursday night victory. The Jets were led by defensive end Will McDonald IV, who turned in two sacks to push his season total to five through three games. Safety Chuck Clark also contributed with four total tackles and a forced fumble. The Jets will be a top fantasy defense again in Week 4's home matchup against a struggling Denver Broncos offense.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots wide receiver Demario Douglas turned nine targets into seven catches for 69 yards against the New York Jets on Thursday night. Douglas had been off to a quiet start this season, finishing Week 2 with zero targets and the third-most snaps among wide receivers on the team. However, he got more reps during practice leading up to the Jets game, and it seems to have paid off. The Liberty product connected with Jacoby Brissett early and often, and he also appeared to have a rapport with rookie Drake Maye. Douglas has managed to get back on the fantasy radar as a low-end WR4 heading into Week 4.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson caught five of his nine targets for 33 yards and a touchdown in a 24-3 win over the New England Patriots in Week 3. Wilson hauled in his first touchdown pass of the season on a two-yard catch in the third quarter, giving the Jets a 20-3 lead. The veteran wideout also led the Jets in targets and tied for the team lead in catches on Thursday night, even though he only finished with 33 receiving yards. So far this season, quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been content to spread the targets around in the Jets offense but Wilson remains the lead receiver in New York. Wilson will now have a few extra days to rest ahead of a Week 4 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson rushed just six times for 23 yards during Thursday's loss to the New York Jets. The 26-year-old has logged at least 21 carries and one touchdown in each of the first two games this season, so his reduced opportunities and production in Week 3 was certainly a surprise. It should also be noted that Stevenson fumbled for the third consecutive game, creating real ball security concerns. If he can't protect the football, he'll lose favor among the coaching staff and play fewer snaps. He's already dropped to the mid-range RB2 tier for Week 4.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard caught all three of his targets for 48 yards and a touchdown in a 24-3 win over the New England Patriots in Week 3's Thursday night game. Lazard came out of the gate hot as he scored the Jets' first touchdown on a 10-yard catch with 4:26 left in the first quarter. The veteran wideout has been productive through the first three games of the season with 11 catches for 148 yards and three touchdowns thus far. Lazard and quarterback Aaron Rodgers showed good chemistry a few years back as members of the Green Bay Packers and that appears to have carried over to the Jets, putting Lazard on the map as a flex option in fantasy moving forward. He will now have a few extra days to prepare to take on the Denver Broncos in Week 4.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry caught two of three targets for nine yards during Thursday's loss to the New York Jets. Henry had broke out for eight catches and 109 yards in Week 2, but he was dealt a harsh reality check as his production came way back down to earth in Week 3. The veteran pass-catcher still has a strong rapport with Jacoby Brissett. However, there simply aren't enough targets to go around to support consistent fantasy production from several pass-catchers. Just like Week 2 was a Henry week, Week 3 belonged to Demario Douglas, who caught seven passes for 69 yards. Henry is a candidate to bounce back in Week 4, but given the Patriots' unpredictability on offense, he's a mid-range TE2.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets wide receiver Mike Williams caught three of his four targets for 34 yards in a 24-3 win over the New England Patriots in Week 3. Williams easily turned in his best game of the season after not drawing a target in Week 1 and catching just one ball in Week 2. He wound up finishing third on the team in receiving in the Thursday night win as the Jets are slowly ramping up his workload after a torn ACL in 2023. Williams should continue to see more work moving forward, although the reemergence of Allen Lazard as one of Aaron Rodgers' favorite targets could be a concern for Williams. He will now have a few extra days to rest ahead of a Week 4 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots running back Antonio Gibson rushed five times for 29 yards during Thursday's game against the New York Jets. He also caught three passes for an additional eight yards through the air. Gibson primarily played late in the game, including the drive in which Drake Maye replaced Jacoby Brissett. He was incredibly efficient with 5.8 YPC and showed a sort of burst on the ground that we haven't necessarily seen from Gibson in years past. He also kept firm possession of the football, which can't be said of Rhamondre Stevenson. The Patriots' lead back has now fumbled in three consecutive games, so if the coaching staff can't trust him to protect the football, he could lose significant opportunities to Gibson. The former Commander back is a fringe top-36 fantasy running back for Week 4 against the Niners.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets running back Breece Hall carried the ball 16 times for 54 yards and a touchdown while adding four catches for 29 yards in a 24-3 win over the New England Patriots in Week 3's Thursday night game. Hall extended his touchdown streak to three straight games with a one-yard run in the second quarter, putting the Jets up 13-0. The veteran running back has been excellent through three weeks, with 170 rushing yards and 16 catches for 120 yards. Hall is locked in as a high-end RB1 in fantasy moving forward. He will now have a few extra days to rest ahead of a Week 4 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets running back Braelon Allen carried the ball 11 times for 55 yards and added three catches for 13 yards in a 24-3 win over the New England Patriots in Week 3's Thursday night game. For the second straight week, Allen played a significant role running behind starter Breece Hall as he actually led the Jets in rushing yards in the dominant victory. The 20-year-old rookie has looked good through his first three games as the Jets have slowly increased his workload each week. Allen heads into Week 4 as a top handcuff in fantasy who also possesses some standalone value as a flex play.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye came off the bench to make his NFL debut during the fourth quarter of Thursday's game against the New York Jets. He replaced Jacoby Brissett for the final drive of the game. Brissett had not fared very well behind the Patriots' depleted offensive line, and while Maye was also pressured heavily, he did show flashes of upside, completing four passes and rushing for 12 yards. The Patriots haven't named a starter for Week 4 quite yet.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers looked sharp in a 24-3 win over the New England Patriots in Week 3's Thursday night game. Rodgers completed 27 of his 35 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns while adding three rushes for 18 yards in the win. The veteran quarterback threw touchdown passes to Allen Lazard and Garrett Wilson in the win, giving him five on the season. Rodgers has improved with each game this season as he gets further removed from a season-ending Achilles tear in Week 1 of the 2023 season. Even more encouraging regarding his Achilles was the 18 rushing yards as he came into the game with three carries for zero yards. Rodgers now has a few extra days to rest ahead of a Week 4 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets WR Mike Williams collected three receptions (on four targets) for 34 yards during the team's Week 3 win over the New England Patriots.
Fantasy Spin: Williams' workload keeps ticking up as he plays his way back into shape following last year's torn ACL. With the way Aaron Rodgers is spreading things around, the jury remains out on how big of an impact the former Charger will have, especially with Allen Lazard having a mini renaissance after being a complete bust last year. If you drafted Williams to stash on your bench, you can stay the course for now to see how things look when he's ready for a full load.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers connected on 27 of 35 passing attempts for 281 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a blowout victory over the New England Patriots on Thursday, Sept. 19. Rodgers also ran the ball three times for 18 yards.
Fantasy Spin: In his first full home game, Rodgers gave the crowd what they were hoping to see in 2023 when he was acquired from the Green Bay Packers. He was decisive and accurate with the ball, repeatedly setting up his targets for yards after the catch, and his mobility looked better than it had the first two weeks. Rodgers also showed trust in his options, rather than focusing heavily on Garrett Wilson. On the whole, it was an impressive performance from the 40-year-old quarterback. While you'll still want to be judicious with putting him in your lineup, a Week 4 matchup with Denver affords him QB1 potential.
From TheHuddle
New England Patriots LBs Jahlani Tavai and Raekwon McMillan were both credited with 10 total tackles and six solo tackles against the New York Jets in Week 3.
From TheHuddle
New England Patriots TE Hunter Henry had two receptions for nine yards during the team's Week 3 loss to the New York Jets. Henry was targeted three times.
Fantasy Spin: Through three weeks it has been feast or famine with the veteran tight end. In Week 1, he caught two passes for 18 yards. This past Sunday, he logged a 8-109-0 line. And then, tonight, it was back on the struggle bus. The most encouraging thing about Henry is that he should stay involved no matter who is starting at quarterback. Jacoby Brissett is as risk averse as any QB in the NFL, and a rookie like Drake Maye could look to lean on a reliable underneath target. That gives Henry weekly upside, though the risk should be obvious after two duds in three games.
From TheHuddle
New England Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett completed 12 of 18 pass attempts for 98 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero turnovers against the New York Jets in Week 3. He also took five sacks, which is a clear indication that New England has a porous offensive line. The unit has specifically been bad in pass protection, which has left Brissett with very little time to get comfortable in the pocket and connect with his receivers. The veteran quarterback has done a great job controlling the football (he has zero turnovers through three games), but his overall yardage and touchdown totals are among the league's worst. Brissett was ultimately relieved by Drake Maye in the fourth quarter of Thursday's game, creating some questions about who will start at quarterback in Week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers. Regardless of that decision, Brissett can be avoided in most fantasy leagues moving forward.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo was non-committal when asked if he would consider a quarterback change heading into Week 4 of the 2024 season. "I don't know," Mayo told the media after Thursday's loss to the New York Jets. "We talk about it every single week: you're competing for a job. We'll get together as a coaching staff." Mayo pulled Jacoby Brissett in the waning minutes of a three-score game to get some reps for Drake Maye, who made his NFL debut. Maye led a solid drive, completing four of eight passes for 22 yards, rushing for 12 yards, and taking two sacks. He had the Patriots close to the end zone, but time expired before the Patriots could score. There were certainly some pros and cons from his limited sample size, and the biggest factor to consider is the offensive line. New England's pass protection has looked dreadful this season, so New England might not want to expose its No. 3 pick to tremendous pressure. That's especially true for Week 4 when the Patriots face a strong San Francisco 49ers defensive front. If Mayo wants to keep his young quarterback healthy and focus on his development, he'll likely roll out Brissett as his starter. But if the first-year head coach is ready to turn the page to a new chapter and throw Maye into the fire, that's well within the realm of possibilities. We should get more clarity on the Patriots' quarterback situation in the coming days.
