Thorough all the years, Dan made the effort to stay a good friend to me and all of his fantasy football buddies and for that I, all of us, will be forever grateful. I will never forget the looks he would give me, peering over his glasses which he did more for effect than sight and his wry wit. A servant who will be immediately welcomed into the Kingdom. Losing a family member can be devastating. Losing a friend, like Dan Sloan, as he was to all of us, has equal sorrow. Like all of you, I am terribly saddened by the news of his passing. What a grand guy he was and will always be remembered as such. To me he was the Bomber and was always prepared to give me a good dusting in our Fantasy lives. It has become a very empty season now. I share Romans 12:12 with all of you.
I am stunned by this news! Dan was a true definition of a friend, family leader, patriot and AWFFL Legend! To his family and friends my thoughts and prayers are with all of you! You will be missed my friend but every joke I hear, and every football game played will bring your memories to me and all of our years we have spent together!
Simply stunned by the passing of Dan Sloan... A great guy with a great sense of humor -- there was a time when I beat him fairly consistently and he thought about changing his team name to Sandy's Bitch. He actually went through a phase of changing his name regularly, thus upsetting our official stat keeper. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May Dan's soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
I am devastated to inform you that Dan Sloan passed away over the weekend. His last known activity was to log into the APU website at 11:40 p.m Saturday, and onto the AWFFL home page five minutes later.
He loved this hobby.
As an original franchise of the AWFFL dating back to 1986, Dan's (and son Jim's) Bomb Squad is the only team to win six league championships.
