Commissioner Fri Oct 4 10:12pm ET

League has voted, by league rules a majority is needed to change. Which with 90% vote in, cannot reach 60% majority needed.  For now Place Kicker changes are tabled and can be revisited for vote if proposed properly for 2026 season.

Tight early season race in both divisions for playoff spots! with Bye weeks starting, the real fun and challenge begins!

  1. Rule Changes
    1. All rule changes should be properly thought out, composed in writing and submitted to the league in a private post or through text to the commissioners (this means both) to be reviewed a minimum of one week prior to the Draft (second week of August).
      1. This facilitates discussion and allows for any changes to the proposal that might be appropriate
    2. Properly submitted rule change proposals may be voted on at the draft and (if changes are voted in) take effect for the following season within logical discretion.
  • Owners, or a representative, must be present at the meeting to vote.
  1. There must be a quorum (minimum) of 8 owners present to vote on a rule change.
  2. Adopting a rule change requires 6 ‘yes’ votes out of the owners present.
  3. If necessary, the Commissioner may hold emergency rules or league issues votes via the league’s poll feature.

Bob and Tim's game.

Waiting to see if any scoring changes process but adjusting now. Tim wins currently w/ 38 points tie breaker (off and Def) to Bobs 37 (did not have a def tie break started.

If scoring adjustment from NFL occurs that changes outcome, I will correct back.

Evil Monkeys Tue Oct 1 10:25pm ET
Let’s talk about how archaic it is for me to have to start a TE when there are like three of four worth a shit. Leave the kickers alone.
Evil Monkeys Tue Oct 1 10:24pm ET
Kickers lives matter! Neuter pets, not kickers! :)
Alpha Ninjas Mon Sep 30 6:17pm ET

Koo had 4 FGs, 2 XP = 14 football points and 45 fantasy points

Jordan Love = 4 TDs, 2 Xpts = 28 football points and 47 fantasy points (of which also include 32 completions for 389 yds)

Why is the kicker getting the same fantasy points for half the football points contribution??

I get that kickers are contributors and vital but this scoring system is outdated and is skewed way too much.

If you think Aubrey was a bigger factor than Lamb in the Cowboys win then I don't know what to say.

Lamb's 55 yard TD was the difference in the game and worth 13 points (TD + reception + 55 yards).  Aubrey's 60 yard FG was worth 15, and would have been 20 if he was a yard further.  That makes no sense to me.

Otto Draught Fri Sep 27 3:34pm ET

Aubrey scored 8 points for team. 2 kicks for 100 yards and 2 extra points.

Lamb scored 6 points for team.   7 receptions for 98 yards and a Td

Fortunato Enterprises Thu Sep 26 11:31pm ET

CeeDee Lamb:  7 receptions for 98 yards and a TD, 21 fantasy points

Brandon Aubrey:  2/3 field goals, 2/2 XP, 23 fantasy points

This league is comical. If all you have to do is bitch about kicker scoring on a group text on a Friday night you really need to get a life. Thanks.

Otto Draught Thu Sep 19 10:24pm ET

I mean some of those kickers were available and our still that put up 25 plus.

Thanks to no off season actual 2 a days and anyone playing preseason, we are stuck with shit offense and hamstring pulls. Kickers are getting way more opportunity then normal early on. I agree a its a little up there...  however, scoring 15 to 21 points for actual teams

(place kicker not counting extra points) real life is worth more then 100 yards and td in a victory.

Let it play out and yes, will look to make adjustments for next year. Sorry just realized this was on mine on not commish.

Fortunato Enterprises Sun Sep 15 7:02pm ET
Fred Warner had 9 tackles, a sack, INT, two forced fumbles and two passes defensed this week and scored 43 points.

Four kickers scored more than 44 points last week. That’s silly.

Lum can you please put it up for a vote so we can finally fix this for next year?
Evil Monkeys Wed Sep 11 9:35pm ET
Still disagree with neutering kickers so my vote is no. That won’t change. :)
Delinquents Tue Sep 10 9:31pm ET

I third putting Liz's proposed vote on Kicker Point change up for a poll.

Fortunato Enterprises Tue Sep 10 7:53pm ET
I second Liz’s proposal. It’s better than the one I posted. Let’s keep it simple. Can we please put it up for a vote now to be changed for next year?
Alpha Ninjas Tue Sep 10 7:25pm ET
Commissioners - I’d like to propose this change to kicker scoring - please post as a poll when you can, so we can get this vote underway.

FG up to 50yds = 3pts
FG 50-59yds = 4pts
FG 60+ = 5pts
Xpt = 1pt
Missed Xpt = -1

I think this is fair since TDs are worth 6 unless it’s extraordinary, that all FGs should be worth 3 unless extraordinary. We don’t give negatives for missed TDs but a missed Xpt should be penalized
Fortunato Enterprises Tue Sep 10 6:50pm ET
Stacy — I won this week and posted the same thing last year when my kicker scored 50+. It is really dumb that the top 4 scoring players this week are all kickers.

If anyone wants to vote on the proposal I made in the first post on the message board please do so. Let’s get this fixed for next year.
Alpha Ninjas Tue Sep 10 7:41am ET
Agree. Think about what other positions need to do to accomplish 50 points. A LB would need 5 sacks and 10 tackles in a game . A WR would need 5 TD with shit ton of catches and yards. It’s not equal. Please put up a poll so we can agree to change it. Then maybe another poll with different options on what to change it to?

Fortunato Enterprises wrote:

Evil Monkeys Tue Sep 10 5:17am ET
I completely disagree. If a kicker has a stellar performance they should totally be able to make the difference. Don’t penalize a kicker cuz your players don’t perform and got beat by one.

To the commissioners, thank you for the transparency with making the adjustment.  Since it was after the deadline I am happy you reached out as I did have to adjust my board but had plenty of time to do so.

I would vote on any proposal entered as a poll.  I had some comments on the kicker rule a month ago, mainly I just didn't like more negatives for a missed FG, I think the -3 for missed PAT is enough, but agree with everything else.

Regarding the money, what is the collection/payment process this year?  And assuming still $110 until otherwise voted on but do believe it is probably a little late to vote on that one this year with Cuts already made.

Evil Monkeys Fri Aug 16 3:21pm ET

Also, with everybody wanting to up the league buy in I am honestly really confused....is this for fun or is this for money and a trophy here? Maybe I just play with what would be $200 a little different out of my pocket investment wise. Just saying that if we are going to up the ante let's at least stop calling it "fun"...it's a competition for money at the end of the day guys. Not against it or some other things put forth, but let's start calling it what it is please. It's a bunch of friends gambling in order to try and win money and a trophy. And we can't put things up for vote with less than 48 hours to go. We gotta do that in the offseason not on or right before draft day. Thanks and enjoy the season everybody.

Good luck out there!

Evil Monkeys Fri Aug 16 3:15pm ET

So since you put it here and seem to think I am the one wrong here. Where did I personally insult you exactly? All I did was call out the time stamps and point out that some of us are way busier than you are and yet we still got this right. But I am wrong for pointing out that a vote was done, past a very clear deadline and your being GIVEN back a player you should have been made to redraft under the league rules. And that is me attacking you personally how exactly? Honestly, this is backwards here…all I did was point out the facts and then vote no. If anybody is being attacked personally here it's me, but yeah let's go on you guys facts it's all good. On to the season already. Thanks all.

BUDDHA BANDITZ Fri Aug 16 1:12pm ET
In the words od Rodney King......"can't we all just get along"
I get that mistakes happen. I made one as well with my cuts and almost called to correct it. It just wasnt as bad to make it a thing but I would have asked and I think it would have been alright. We should raise the buy in, change the kicking stuff, if people want to change pay out % put it up for vote. This is for fun and we need not take everything so seriously. Life is too short. I appreciate all players, owners and my friends in this league.
Alpha Ninjas Fri Aug 16 11:14am ET

Stacy, I am not quite sure what's going on with you as of late but honestly, your tone/attitude isn't appreciated. This is supposed to be a fun league between old friends. I'm here to have a good time and keep in touch with a group of guys that I've been playing against for decades in the hopes of having the Ninjas name appear again on the Hammer trophy. I'm all for some good banter but personal insults are not cool.

In regards to the rookie and IR FA protection - Robbie had brought it up and I had agreed - we should be able to remove the FA protection from Rookie and IR players on our own team if we don't want them protected from FA. For instance, I had Jamaal Williams on IR and come FA I didn't want to protect him and then ended up cutting him from my roster. In addition, I cut several rookies from my roster on my 20 man cut. So if we plan to cut the player or have no interest in protecting them, they should be a part of the FA cuts. Currently, if a protected player is picked in FA, then another number is pulled until an unprotected player is picked to be dropped as a FA. Robbie's suggestion would just allow us to unprotect players (Rookies or IR) we don't want on our rosters and open them up to being a FA pull.

I think its a good suggestion and I would like to bring it for a vote prior to the draft if its not too late.

In addition, I would also like to vote on a new scoring system for Kickers if its not too late.

I am assuming that the league buy in is too late to vote on but would like to propose it for the next time we can vote on it.

Evil Monkeys Fri Aug 16 5:57am ET
Edited: Fri Aug 16 9:22am ET

“Un protect rookie and IR players before FA”….doesn’t even make sense. Why don’t we just go back to rookie and franchise players if rookies aren’t protected after their rookie season….kinda defeats the purpose of protection doesn’t it?

All good here to play.. Thanks all.

Evil Monkeys Fri Aug 16 5:36am ET
And if we are voting on anything please put it up here on the site before the draft. Thanks.
Evil Monkeys Fri Aug 16 5:24am ET
What a crock of shit for real! At least we know you how you are about rules.
Alpha Ninjas Thu Aug 15 11:33am ET

Did these ever go to a vote? I wanted to bring back the ability to unprotect rookies and IR players also - before FA ... Are we voting on new things or do we now have to wait?

Happy New League Year!  I have two proposals to keep the league fresh.

Proposal 1:  Increase league fee -- we've had the same fee for 20 years.  Let's make it more interesting!

Increase fee to $200 ($2000 total) with following payouts:

Winner = $800

2nd = $400

3rd = $200 (gives semifinal losers another game)

Division winner = $200 (x2 = $400)

Wild card winner = $100 (x2 = $200)

Plus the $10 per person website / admin fee...

Proposal 2:  Kicker Scoring -- we give way too many points to the most random position.

Current scoring:

1 pts for 1 to 20 yd FG
2 pts for 21 to 25 yd FG
3 pts for 26 to 30 yd FG
4 pts for 31 to 35 yd FG
6 pts for 36 to 40 yd FG
8 pts for 41 to 45 yd FG
10 pts for 46 to 50 yd FG
12 pts for 51 to 55 yd FG
15 pts for 56 to 60 yd FG
20 pts for 61 to 999 yd FG
1 pts for each made PAT

Missed FG = Not Used
-3 pts for each missed XP

Proposal -- let's keep it simple....3 points for every FG up to 40 yards, 4 points for 41-50, 6 points for 51-60, 8 points for 61+.  But minus 3 for every missed FG or XP.

I made an honest mistake years ago not yet fully knowing the rule and was punished for it. Part of that was I lost the player too. If she gets to knowingly make this mistake and get her player back with ZERO punishment I call full BS here for the record. There is no way she should get this player back it is way past the deadline and it is a flagrant violation of the league rules if it happens. Thanks.

So my questions are...

Did she not review her players before she confirmed removal? It is in fact a two step action. The time stamp of which was Sun Aug 11 3:34pm ET.

When did she notify you of this? Was it as soon as she made the drop or was it hours later possibly after seeing any news? Is there a time stamp of when she notified you please?

I work for the government....trust but verify before weighing in...thanks.

No offense but would need more data before voting either way.

I vote to go ahead and fix.  But, what is it again?

Cutting Brandon Stephens and keeping Tank Dell?

Commissioner Tue Aug 13 2:32pm ET

Need league to weigh in. Liz clicked wrong player when she made cuts on Sunday.

Meant to cut Brandon Stephens and Dell.

If had been caught immediately, I would have just adjusted and let all know the error. As has been done before when folks catch.

I believe was,  and I  know was on honest mistake and inclined to fix it. But because its been a couple days past I want to ask league.

Time has come for FA. So far Jeff has posted his protects.

Please get them up by the 14th July so Robbie and I can coordinate pulling them. (via zoom or in person whatever works best)

Delinquents Fri Jun 28 11:30pm ET

My 7 protections are:

Dak Prescott,  Breece Hall,  D'Andre Swift, Michael Pittman Jr., DeVonta Smith, Evan Engram, and Zaire Franklin

Delinquents Fri Jun 28 11:01pm ET

Sean - I would be fine with moving the draft to 2pm

Robby - I agree with Proposal 1.

I would change Propsal 2 slightly:

  • Keep the +1 XP make (didn't see in your proposal) and -3 XP miss (you had this)
  • But no negative points for any other missed FG attempt
  • Besides that I was good with the proposed points on FG yardage made
BUDDHA BANDITZ Fri Jun 28 5:01pm ET

How would everyone feel about a 2:00 PM Start for the draft?  I will be coming back from an out of state  camping trip, specifically for the draft, but I want to make sure I'm on time.

Just realized I still owe some of you $ payouts!

Tim- 550 champ + 100 Div win = 650
Rob- 150 runner up + 100 div win = 250
Liz- 50 wild card
Tony 50 wild card

Let me know if I can PayPal. Otherwise can hand the cash. Can deduct from league fees next year at this point I reckon. I apologize for forgetting thou nobody said anything to me either!

Also,
If anyone is. If planning to return this season please text me and let me know. I want us all back of course!
Fortunato Enterprises Wed Mar 27 3:35pm ET

Happy New League Year!  I have two proposals to keep the league fresh.

Proposal 1:  Increase league fee -- we've had the same fee for 20 years.  Let's make it more interesting!

Increase fee to $200 ($2000 total) with following payouts:

Winner = $800

2nd = $400
