But really, the more I think about what our founding fathers did, and the cautionary statements they provided, the more I believe these men were some of the finest individuals that one could ever hope to know. Where is this coming from? On our company portal today, this quote from Thomas Jefferson came up... "I predict future happiness for Americans, if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them" - relevant back then, cautionary today.

Rod, I actually googled the whole deal about taking a bite out of the medal because I also think it is stupid. It is done for a couple of reasons. (1) photographers think it creates a nice shot (disagree), but mostly (2) it started when some Olympian did it at some point, no one sure when, and the story is that gold miners used to test if something was real gold by biting down on it because real gold is soft enough to leave an impression I guess. Something to that effect. I still think it looks stupid (get off my lawn!) but that's the story.

It’s not funny. It’s kind of stupid. There’s no point to it. It just plain doesn’t make any sense. I know most of them are young and excited that they achieved the most prestigious honor in their respective sports. But it’s still in my opinion just kind of dumb…..
Took a ride by the stadium today to checkout the progress on the new stadium. The top level on the east side facing west looks to be about 3/4 done with the lower bowl looking to be completed. Not sure if they are ahead or behind schedule but it’s definitely coming along.
