The following rules have been approved in the big sister ZFFL League and will be applied to this league as well for the upcoming season.

  1. When a team owner has identified they are leaving the league, and the team becomes open, and after we have offered it to any existing partnered teams, we allow another team owner to change teams.

We also wanted to prevent a team that was run into the ground with talent to just not be able to run to another team, and we were thinking of a restriction that would help with this, "the moving owner's team would have to had been in the top 50% (5 teams) scoring for that previous year".

2. With more movement than ever with QBs, we will now allow an off-season free Team QB move, if your individual QB goes to a different team in the off season, and the QB slot is not owned by anyone and available in the pool.  Obviously if it is owned, nothing can be done, tough luck. So i.e.  you have the Cardinals QB slot.  Kyler Murray gets traded to the Falcons on NFL draft day.  To try and prevent an owner from getting out right screwed by this NFL action, the ZFFL or Trenches team owner would be allowed to drop the Cardinals QB slot and pick up the Falcons QB slot with a one time offer from the commish to accomplish this.

This seems fair since no one can predict this and an owner could really get screwed.  We think these two additions to the rules will be fair to all and make these two areas a little better.

thank you as always

To All:  As we start to tune in for year 35 of the ZFFL, a few reminders to keep in the back of  your mind;

  • Any player dropped now can be brought back to your roster and changed out with a different cut prior to the cut deadline by simply posting who to bring back and who to cut here on the board for all to see.

  • There will be no further use of the PUP list starting with this year.  All players must be protected to meet your roster limit cut downs prior to draft day.  This was a great suggestion by the Scarlet Knights.

  • We will be having a 35th year kick off Breakfast on Sunday September 1st at 9am (yes its Labor Day Weekend sorry)  We have commitments from most owner that live within driving distance. We hope to have the Trophy Presentation as well as a few things we miss not seeing each other over the years.  I am looking at Exit 8 n NJ Turnpike to make it kind of in the center of owners.  Exact Details coming soon.

  • League Fees of $200 are due into the league office by no later than August 1st.  Failure to meet the deadline of being paid by August 7th, will result in a loss of your 6th round pick.  Hope this  does not have to be used.

More to come................

To all Owners, FYI.

In our 35th year rule review, we will be revamping a few minor things aside from the scoring system.  The below info will be in affect going forward and I wanted to get this up there so all owners know how to look at your players getting ready for this year's draft.

We will be tweaking the "PUP List" rule going forward and eliminating the ability to protect a player that is out for any reason other than being IR = OUT FOR THE YEAR according to the NFL team. No Team Positions will be included in this.

A good new interpretation of this old rule by the Mike of the Knights, Nick and Bob Homey brought out the fact that owners are getting an unfair advantage through the luck of the draw protecting extra players and then getting a boost in week 6 for your roster, and it is really apparent in players being suspended for being idiots or contract holdouts as an example.

As Mike also pointed out, we already have compensated for this with the 7/8/9 roster positions, which makes since.

You will have to decide on whether to protect that player and hold them in your protection list and you will be able to move them to your Teams IR roster for week 1 of the regular season or release them on cut down day.  This will make the playing field fair for all and put a few more players into the draft pool that someone may be willing to take a chance on.
